The 'Wireless Network Connection 3' network card is not properly configured to use the IP protocol

I can't connect to any internet. I'm trying to connect to wireless hotspots, but it tells me that I am connected with limited access

Hi idkmyname

1. What is the exact error message displayed when you try to go online?
2. do you have updated the network card drivers installed?
3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

Method 1:
You can check the links below and check out them if the steps to help you resolve the issue-

Method 2:
You can follow the steps below to check the NIC in Device Manager. I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the NIC drivers and check:

a. click Startand then click Control Panel.

b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
Check if you have any exclamation point beside the devices listed. If you have, then there is problem with the card is installed.

c. in the NIC, expand adapter, right click on the devices listed and then click Uninstall.
When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click OK.

d. restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically. Check after this procedure if you are able to get access to the network.

If you get all the drivers related errors, you can check if you have the latest drivers updated, installed for the network card. See the help link - below

    Hello X-x_MaGiC_x-X,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

Try the rest of the stage in this article:

System restore points are created automatically when the following occur:

    • When you install a new application or driver.
    • When you uninstall or install some programs.
    • When you install new updates
    • Automatically on a daily interval
    • Manually by creating a.
    • If you choose to use system restore to restore to a previous restore point, System Restore creates a new restore point before you restore a previous state in case something goes wrong. If you are restoring to a previous state in Mode without failure, a restore point will create for the current state.

So that the restoration of the system to work, you must have 300 MB of free space for each hard disk that monitors the system restore. System Restore will also use up to 15% of disk space on each disk that it monitors. That hard disk space runs out, older restore points will be deleted as newer ones. It is also important to note that you must be logged in as an administrator in order to use the system restore. Now that you understand the basics of the system restore, you must continue to the next section to learn how to use it.

Restore Windows Vista to a previous state

In the case of a problem on your computer that cannot be solved by normal means, you can restore your computer to a previous working state. To do this, you need to start restoring the system so that you can choose the restore point to restore. If you currently have Windows Vista boot problems, you can use the system restore in Windows recovery environment. Instructions on how to do it in this tutorial can be found: System Restore using the Windows Vista recovery environment.

If you can connect to Windows Vista, you must follow these steps.

    1. Close and save any documents that you have opened.
    2. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    3. When the Start Menu open click on the menu option all programs.
    4. Click once on the Start Menu Accessories group.
    5. Click once on the System Tools Start Menu group.
    6. Click once on the icon of the system restore. After you click the icon, if a user account control window opens, click on the button continue.

You will now be on the screen as shown below in Figure 1 system restore. From this screen, you can specify the restore point that you want to restore.

    1 screen of system restore

By default, Vista will be already selected the restore recommended option. This restore point is one followed a new pilot program, or update has been installed. If you do not want to use this restore point, you can click on the button next to start the restore process. On the other hand, if there is a more recent restore point that you want to restore you should select choose a different restore point and press the next button. This will bring you to a screen, as shown in Figure 2, which contains a list of all available restore points that you can restore.

    2. the list of available restore points

You must select the restore point that you want to restore, and then press the button next to start the restore process. Vista will display a window showing your selected restore point and asking you to confirm that it is that you want to restore.

    3. confirm the selected restore point

If you want to select a different restore point, press the Back button. Otherwise, you can press the Cancel button to exit the system restore or the button finish to begin the restore process. If you have selected finish, Vista will display a second prompt asking you to confirm that you want to continue restoring.

    4. second Confirmation

If you are sure you want to restore, then press the Yes button. Vista will now log you off the computer and start the system restore process, as shown in Figure 5 below.

    5. restoration of a restore point

When the restore is complete, your computer will be restarted and when Vista starts it backup will be restored to its previous state. When you open a Vista session for the first time after the restore, you will see a message indicating that the restore was successful.

    6. system restore was successful

If there are problems with your computer because the last restoration, you can return to your previous settings to ebb in the system restore utility and select Undo system restore by pressing the next button.

7 undo the last system restore

Your computer should now work correctly again.

With the help of the restoration of the system in the Windows recovery environment

    Manual creation of Restore Points

As mentioned previously, it is also possible to create manual restore depending on points. Some popular designs to create manual restore points are when you have your computer configured perfectly and I would save the State in case of problems in the future. To create a manual restore point, you must follow these steps:

    1. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    2. Click on the control panel menu option.
    3. Click the option menu system and Maintenance.
    4. Click on the system menu option.
    5. Click on the System Protection in the list on the left.

You will now be at the System Protection tab in the system control panel. This tab allows you to enable and disable the system restore as well as making the new manual restore points.

    8. the System Protection tab

To create a manual restore point, you must click on the button create. When you press this button a prompt asking you to give a title to this manual restore point.

    9. Enter the manual restore point title

Type a title for the manual restore point and press the button create. Vista will now create a restore point manually and once finished, post a notice that it was created successfully.

    10. Manual restore point has been created

Now that you have finished doing the manual restore point, you can close the system window.

Try to download the correct and up-to-date drivers.

    This should solve your problem.

Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

Please help me and sorry for my English :)

    > Also may try to reinstall the drivers that appear in this web site, appear here the Atheros drivers your need of portable.

Your computer laptop doesn t support card Atheros, but card Realtek WLan.

    > In Device Manager, everything is ok, but I can't connect.
As you say the WLan card is recognized correctly, but you can't connect.
    Why?

I m do not know why, but you should check first if your WLan router uses the same standard WLan (802.11 A, B or G) as the WLan card.
    Check the settings!

Then check if the right WLan encryption has been selected, check if the Mac address was not enabled, check if the firewall doesn t affect the WLan connectivity.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-410US (WA974UA) which is equipped with an Atheros AR9285 B/G/N wireless network adapter.   The laptop Internet access was fast and stable when using a Wi - Fi N.   Its pilot AR9285 was the initial version of the 8.0.0.172 factory.  But because there were so many subsequent driver updates, I've updated the display driver version from the support page 8.9.9.316 (sp48755.exe).  However, after updating the driver, I immediately lost Internet access.   The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 and 64-bit.

    (3) Trying to Connect through connections network does not a list of known available networks and instead says "not connected - no connection is available."

I have read several messages from the HP Forum and tried a lot of things, including the installation of various updates driver later thanks to the version 10.0.0.222, but I still can't the driver to connect to the Internet.  I also changed my router "n" has only B/G as the AR9285 pilot has a history of problems with Wireless N.  Even back to the original driver version 8.0.0.172 provides an Internet connection.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hello:

I'm glad that you were able to restore your internet connection.

I'd go with the latest driver HP vice one from another source.

The only time wherever I go outside HP for wireless network drivers is if you have an Intel wireless card.

My recommendation is to use the free MS Security Essentials antivirus/antispyware, which never interfere with how "things important works" on your PC, such as network connections.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=5201

Your router with a hardware firewall and a software firewall Windows. I don't see the importance of adding other firewalls.

Unless you have a lot of albums secret info on your PC that pirates would like to get my hands on, these fully functional security roadblocks are adequate for most of us.

  • Wireless network card does not appear in the Device Manager on Satellite L50 - B - 1 DM

    Hello!
I bought just new Satellite L50 - B - 1 DM, model number PSKTCE and installed on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit. He came without OS installed and without driver installation disk.
Problem is that Wlan card does not appear in Device Manager.

For my Toshiba support model are 37 drivers and programs. I have already installed: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, all updates to Windows that appeared, SP 1, driver LAN, Toshiba Value added Package. And I tried to install all wlan drivers 4 in the list of "tool utility Intel ' also.
Does not always display any connection without wireless WLAN card. Pressing Fn + F12 does not change. In "Network connections" is the only connection - LAN. No WLAN, no bluetooth.

I have "Other devices" in Device Manager with yellow marks on: network controller; PCI device; PCI Simple Communication controller; SM Bus controller. USB controller; Unknown device (with Microsoft ACPI - compliant system location) and video controller.

Any help would be welcome. Thanks in advance

If it's not bad - just saw that my BIOS is version 1.70

  • Satellite L100: Wireless network card does not recognize media

I bought a Wifi (Gigabyte gn-wi01gs) to my L100, but this card does not work. I installed all the drivers, but it does not recognize any network. No other computer has a problem.

This shows that, when I press Fn + F8 "wireless communication is disabled. Please activate the wireless communication switch "." What 'switch '? There is no switch!
    What should I do?

Someone mentioned here in the forum that with the version of the BIOS under 2.10, the Wireless LAN card is unable to get a correct IP address of the connected Access Point or it is impossible to get a connection point of access to all.
Added the new BIOS that fixed a problem with the wireless LAN switch kill, the switch did not work properly.
WLAN should be activated by pressing FN + F8.

So please update the BIOS to Version 2.10 or higher, but don't forget to use the good BIOS and the correct procedure of updating the BIOS!
Incorrect BIOS may damage the motherboard.

  • Satellite P100-429 - new wireless network card does not work

    Hello

    I just upgraded my home network to the draft of the standard "n" and thought that I would upgrade my wireless card on my laptop P100-429;
Laptop is under Vista Home Premium and has the latest version of BIOS and drivers installed.

Laptop currently has an equipped Intel 3945ABG card that works very well. I bought an Intel 4965AGN card but when I enter it, the powers of computer to top, but wont load (lights, fan-nothing else)

Okay - so I read on some forums, could be a bad card, so I bought a brand Toshiba 4965AGN card - P/N G86C0002P710
Still having the same problem - the computer refuses to start. Intel technical support say the card should work?
Obviously is a compatibility problem - what can I do about it?

Or did someone knows what kind of card I should use?

    Thanks for your help!

I m not a Satellite P100 owner but is your laptop equipped with 3 antennas or only 2?
If your laptop has only 2 antennas t, you can pass it to N project because this WiFi standard needs of 3 antennas.

I think that your laptop has only 2 antennas, so that would be the reason why the two cards are not compatible to your laptop.

    Welcome them

If this isn't the case, run the utility driver Intel update and he must find a newer driver.
