  • Dual screen monitor - bad resolution options

I have a Dell Latitude E6420 running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit which I use to several jobs in various locations.  Most have a docking station connected to one or two screens (one VGA, one DVI).  I run dual screen as often as I can, so, even at a workstation with a single monitor, I use the screen as a second monitor.  I also give presentations from my laptop, usually via a VGA connection port of the laptop.

There is a special meeting room which has two screens plasma inside that depend on a VGA connection (must therefore always show the same performance and appear as the single monitor when connected to the laptop).  I use a lot this room.  Until recently, when I plugged it monitors would show an image full screen to ordinary resolution (800 x 600 or 1024 x 768).  I use these as secondary monitors, with my laptop as main screen.  I have check all monitor activity through the interface of the Intel HD 3000 graphics driver.  The pilot is the last available from Dell (9.17.10.3040).

However, now when I plug in this House, secondary monitors show an image in a hurry (abscissa) and the single resolution options offered by the pilot are 1366 x 768 and 4 x 3.  Yes, FOUR by THREE pixels.  None of these are the native resolution (which should be 1024 x 768).  Nothing I can will get monitors to display full-screen with good resolution.  My colleague, with (in theory) the same laptop has no problem.

There also seems to be some sort of cache or memory for monitor configurations.  Whenever I drop down to a workstation, Windows automatically configures the monitors in the way they were last time I was there (so with the monitors in the correct locations, resolutions, etc.).  Is it possible to reset this memory, so that I can start from scratch?

  • Problem dual screen ' after working for a while, the screen of my laptop turns off.

    Original title: Problem dual screen

I use two screens (laptop screen and separate screen) to work. Windows 7 operating system. After working for a while, my laptop screen goes blank as if he goes to the standby mode. The monitor never goes out. Is - this cos win 7 does not support the spl double screen laptop computer and monitor at the time of amse?

Support COMPUTER told me he can't stand not and laptops are not designed to function as a two screens? Please notify.

Portable computers support two monitors. The problem may be caused by two reasons:

    1. incorrect power setting.
    2. the problem with the drivers.
    1. you can download and open Microsoft Fix it for the question.
    2. update the display drivers. If no update is available, uninstall the drivers (and software), restart the PC, install the drivers (and software), restart the PC and then check.
  • My laptop thinks that he is in dual screen mode.

Last night I tried to connect my Dell XPS 17 laptop to my TV via the HDMI port and I would get "No signal" on tv as if she didn't even know that the HDMI cable is connected. I failed her and finally found that there was no sign of my Nvidia graphics card in Device Manager (I had problems before graphics card.) All I had to do was update the driver and the new software has been installed and both monitors worked well.

Since then, after I disconnected my TV, my laptop randomly enters a dual mode screen in which "projector only" must be engaged because my screen goes black but I still audio. Need me 5 minutes to continuously hit Fn + F1 to switch screens where I can hit the windows key + p and return to the screen only. It seems that the times, he jumps in to start, restart, or after hibernation. He also did this when trying to play a powerpoint that would usually play right on the screen of my laptop without problem.

    Any Suggestions?

  • Tecra M9 - problem of extension Nvidia dual screen Mobile

At work, we use M9 laptops with Nvidia graphics card.

We have these laptops moored on a Mobile extension material

I set the laptop to display to two external monitors that works well, until we want to disconnect the laptop for when the laptop at home.

When they turn on the laptop, it will appear as the second screen and will not be usable.

I was wondering if there are any settings that I can change to make him show the two external monitors when it is docked and display just the screen of the laptop when not anchored.

I am aware that the utility of the device display, but this change does not offer two external monitor only offers internal and external.

    We are running Windows XP.

    Thanks in advance.

You have the latest version of the BIOS installed?
Have you installed the latest version of the display driver, common and Modules Extension Mobile software? (download them from the Web from Toshiba site)

Have you tested with a new installation of XP from Toshiba (by running the recovery plant)?
Maybe that's a problem of driver/software if you have a generic installation of XP is installed.

  • Z240 HP SFF: HP SFF Z240 random crashes, blue screens and crashes

    Hello

My work machine is a Mini PC Z240 from HP. Last month, the machine began to hang randomly and display blue screen errors. There is not much in the way perceptible models, but it tends to happen when the machine is in use, rather than the idling, and I can reproduce it systematically using the constraint of Prime95 test utility. When I put it to maximize the heat of CPU, as soon as I stop the test, the screens of the blue machine, which indicates a cooling issue.

Fan of the machine is very quiet, although occasionally he becomes very strong after a reboot and then quieted down.

I think the fan to get a louder as the CPU gets hotter during the stress test, but this does not happen, so I wonder if the fan is defective, and if it is a known problem with these machines, or if there is no possible resolution.

Please see below for the output of BlueScreeView, which displays error codes produced by these last blue screen errors.

  • ThinkCentre M51 SFF 8104 - PCI graphics card

I'm hoping to add a second graphics card for my Ultra small, M51, which has only a 32-bit PCI (not PCIe) slot. While I am aware that much slower speed of the PCI in the PCIe (or even AGP) bus stop from playing any modern (say > 2005) games, I'm not really that interested in 3D performance. The main reason I want the additional card is so I can use an output for my projector (not HD) and maybe even plug a third monitor integrated card (Intel GMA 900) - if I'm not forced to disable this. Is this likely to work? Has anyone here successfully added a PCI graphics card to a ThinkCentre, or any other computer with an Intel 915GV (* blech *) motherboard chipset?

I know that some people suggest you need a bigger power supply for some of the fastest PCI cards, but I'm not sure about this. For a card that will be classified as PCI, it must be within the electrical specifications for the PCI bus, which includes the voltage and current, no? If I'm wrong about this, I would be happy to settle for something more modest, as long as it provides DVI output, some 3D acceleration, but also MPEG decompression. Any input on this very appreciated!

Another restriction could be the space required for the card, the case accepts a PCI full-height, half-length, but will be a little better maybe with a card low profile to leave a little more room for air circulation. I certainly don't think that a passively cooled card would work as there is virtually no room for air circulation. And even with an actively cooled card, I recognize that I might need to add a few extra air holes.

Why go through all this trouble? Well, I love the little ThinkCentre Ultra compact. The case is very well built, it is very pretty in this industrial kind so that IBM had so well - and it's very nice and quiet too (despite the P4HT Prescott). Gigabit LAN, 6 USB, 3.5 "HDD bay (got a 1 TB drive is and the fact that I can use my laptop DVD burner into the UltraBay slot are all nice positives.) I'm not a fan of large desktop computers and can not afford a mini-ITX with PCIe system...

For any help or suggestion very appreciated!

    Lomax

P.S. PCI graphics cards I've been looking at are GeForce 8400 GS Sparkle and 9400 GT cards as well as Radeon X 1300 VisionTek and X 1550. And then there's the new ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO too!

Update: I have now installed a graphics PowerColor HD 2400 Pro PCI in my system. I had to replace the passive radiator with a combination of radiator & fan (the card has holes of standard editing for it), because there was not enough room for it. Also, the case is so narrow that there is no way the airflow around the PCI slot would have been sufficient to adequately cool the GPU. Unfortunately I could not find the drivers for the use of this card under Windows 2000 (my OS preferred) so I'm stuck with XP - but the card works fine and I can get today with the built in Intel GMA chip, giving me three exits (2 x VGA, 1 x DVI) video. Perfect!

  • Application of monitor Dell DDM with U2515H and U2412M dual screen setup and USB drive menu

    Hello

I have U2515H and U2412M independently connected with DP cable to GTX960 video card.

    Two questions;

    1.

I have the latest driver display and the last Application of monitor Dell DDM.  It detects U2515H OK but not U2412M.   necessary on the menu OSD is activated but still no go.    Is - this known issue?

    2.

Also with U2515H, curiously section USB tab energy on screen Menu (the one who press the button) is grayed out.  Can not choose how the power of USB hub behave when the screen goes into sleep mode?    What cause this menu to be grayed out?    Factory reset has no effect on this menu item.

Be aware that U2515H has been replaced by Dell last Friday with monitor construction January because the one originally, I got a defect on the bezel mounting, but this USB menu was selectable.   It was built in April/205.

    Thanks for the research.

(Updated the model type edition only)

There is no U2414M. Do you mean the U2412M? If so, the U2412M is not supported. It was an error in the web. DDM requires a year of Dell 2013 model year or newer.

There is no U25125H or U2525H. Do you mean the U2515H? From the U2515H Manual page 41 =
    USB
Allows you to enable or disable the USB function standby monitor.

NOTE: USB power standby mode is available only when the USB upstream cable is disconnected. This option will be grayed out when the USB cable upstream traffic in.

  • Dual screen not back

I have an external monitor attached to my E520 in mode "Extend" (Windows 7), but when I restart, even if the monitor is attached and turned on, it is up to the single-screen mode.  My other PC, including the other Thinkpads, don't forget to return to the mode of extension, if that was what was already selected.

How to work around this problem?

After the nice lady to support suggests that perhaps it would be a cable I tried jiggling the cable and this new problem disappeared, so I reinstalled Autolock and yet, the problem seems to be absent.  It seems unlikely, but it seems that uninstalling Autolock may have coincided with a jiggling previously accidental a defective cable, so for the moment, a faulty video cable is to look like the culprit.

  • Windows 8 creates horizontal tear in dual screen

Sensitive to video games and video playback, moved not using Windows 7 on the same hardware and or when you select extend this view/show only on: Windows 8.

I tried with 3 different graphics cards. HD4000 Intel and AMD HD6870 NVIDIA GTX680 - same result with each of them. This means that it certainly has something to do with how Windows 8 handles this.

Same problem with my MSI GT780DX (GTX 570 M graphics card).
Just my monitor integrated comps tears... not my TV.
Not worth the time of the demotion to Win7, however. Just wait for an update of win8 which will solve this problem.
    Windows 8 Pro.
He's going to tear with any monitor as a secondary monitor, this isn't just a problem with the Samsung TVs.

I fixed that by setting the screen at 60 Hz refresh rates, one of them was set at default 59hz
