ThinkCentre M52 type 9210

During initial boot, PC shuts down, then returns the error message "Configuration change has occurred", further break PC returns "Media test failure" of additional break (check the cable) then PC returns "Initialising and establishing the link" and then starts Windows XP as usual.

I use a "wireless keyboard". any ideas on how to prevent these error messages, which improves startup time.

You use a PXE environment by chance?

  • Maximum HARD drive size in a ThinkCentre M52 8113

    Hello.

First of all, I'm sorry that my English is not good.

I need to change my ThinKCentre HARD drive. It comes with a SATA HDD, size: 80Gb and I want to put a larger HARD drive. What is the maximum size allowed by the BIOS? ¿Does, it supports a SATA2 HARD disk?

    Thank you

    Mauricio

I have 320 GB and 640 GB HARD drive in my 8113 M52 and it works fine.  The site says Intel 945 chipset used in the 8113 provides a SATA II interface.  My HARD drives are also SATA II.

I've updated the BIOS using the download on the Lenovo support site.

  • ThinkCentre S51 type 8172

    Hi people,

Just got my machine 3.2 ghz... installed XP Pro.    Seller has rubbed the 80gig drive. Plugged in by ethernet cable from the cable modem.

Mgr. device shows system has NO drivers for ethernet controller, multimedia controller, USB controller, SM bus controller and video controller. (Big question mark on the whole)

However, my USB mouse works and video is fine.

The bottom of the Device Manager it shows 8 additional USB controllers (host 4 & 4 startup hub)-says that all work, but the system does not recognize any other USB device I plug in (like Belkin Wireless device).

I need drivers for at least on the net, to try to find the remaining drivers.

    Help?  Please

  • ThinkCentre M52 8115-KUF CPU upgrade to Pentium D 820

I just upgraded my CPU from the P4 630 HT 3 GHz for the P4 D 820 and had no trouble from it upward after replacement of CPU, but it records only 1.50 GHz in the Task Manager performance page, although it is still in the custody of P4 630.

It should appear as a 820-2.8 Ghz p4. I can't find anything in the BIOS on the change of setting of the CPU, so, how do I get it to appear as the dual core P4 D 820? And why the Task Manager it shows as 1.50 Ghz frequency Max? Again, I don't see any way to change settings in the bios? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sorry, but after restarting the computer, the 3rd time it automatically corrected for the CPU setting and now it is read correctly to P4 D 2.80 Ghz... so everything is fine now even though I was expecting more than an increase in performance it goes from a score of 3.6 to 4.7 performance so I can't complain. Chart is only 2.3 which brings my average performance at this level also. They use your score lowest to the average value. Thanks anyway.

Crucial , says 'PC2-6400 is backward compatible to PC2-4200 and PC2-5300', so it should work. You have the latest version of the BIOS? If so, then sounds like bad memory, I suggest to RMA for a replacement, or go with Crucial.

  • M52 Question of replacement motherboard

    Hi all

I have a thinkcentre M52 that has a blown motherboard. All 6 of the plugs under the cpu radiator are blown and the northbridge is fried. I found several motherboards renovated in line with the same room but the Rev is 3.3 instead of 3.2. The Rev 3.3 will work in my computer? Food will also be replaced.

The old card mother # is 29R9726; Rev: 3.2; w / Pentium 4 HT processor; Intel NH82801GB L7155C84 SL8FX. The Office has MT-M-8113-EJU listed at the beginning. Thank you.

If the number is the same, you will have no problem.

  • SOUNDMAX DRIVERS - post Win7 upgrade (M52 8215-D1G)

    Hello

I've recently updated the copy of Windows on my IBM ThinkCentre M52 8215 of Windows XP Pro (with which he delivered) to Windows 7 Pro by using the procedure of custom Setup, following the instructions. More pleasantly, the entire process was surprisingly smooth and simple, and when it loads Win7 for the first time, everything installed and worked perfectly... except for the noise.

In the 'Sound' of the Device Manager sub-section, it lists only "high definition Audio Device" which seems to be a generic Microsoft driver. and no mention of "SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio. I want to emphasize that, before the upgrade to Windows 7, I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which precisely confirmed that "SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio", as well as other drivers of key devices, was 'Compatible' with Windows 7. Unfortunately, IBM/Lenovo seem not to offer all the Windows 7 for SoundMAX drivers and tried in vain to install both the drivers Windows XP original and those published for Windows Vista - only to be met with an error message saying that the software was not compatible (Vista installation finished without error process drivers, but does not solve the problem either, or seem to have changed anything).

After trying every possible solution and driver SoundMAX I could locate under the Sun, I wiped the computer again and made an another custom installation of Windows 7, as I suspected that my desperate experiences had left behind all kinds of things on my system newly re-formatted. I did not attempt any installation driver SoundMAX since.

During this time, since the loading of Windows 7, I had a camera appear as "Unknown device" in section "Other devices" in Device Manager, with the formidable small yellow triangle next to him. It is not clear if this is indeed the audio device that is not recognized by Windows 7, or another device that is not installed properly (although all known and peripheral devices are correctly listed in Device Manager), they are has personal information listed in the Properties window.

If someone could point me to a copy of the necessary drivers SoundMAX for Windows 7, or help in some way, I would be very grateful: it's very frustrating to have no noise, especially when everything seems to work perfectly.

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I just noticed that by plugging the headphones into the headphone jack, by those I mean (this is correct for the front and back made headphones), but this still does not work on the speakers. No idea why this might be the case?

  • Boot sequence - boot from USB on more old NetVista, ThinkCentre machines?

I work with several agencies that have old machines NetVista and ThinkCentre

Types of machine example would include:

    NetVista 8307-xxx

    8113 - xxx

    8143 - xxx

I found that the 8307 (even with the last BIOS) doesn't seem to be able to boot a device (e.g. a USB key). Does anyone know if this support can be added or if I'm missing something?

I have not yet checked but fear than the 8113 machines & 8143 might be in trouble there as well...

    Thank you for any input!

Booting from a USB key is a little new. NetVistas do not support that at all, as far as I know. It was introduced with ThinkCentres, and it is not a feature that can be added after the fact. In the BIOs boot order is really the only easy way to tell, and you have to look there first, often times it has been excluded from the boot order all together. After that, F12 is your friend.

  • PCI-Express?

I looked on several review sites on my IBM Thinkcentre M52 9210 (the compact one, NOT the tour) and he says he has ONE PCI-EXPRESS X 16 expansion slot. I printed a picture of the PCI-E x 16 slot and compared it with that of my mahcine. It says it also has a PCI slot and I can see it, and below must be PCI - E, the black one.

But when I look closely it doesn't even look close to the image I had printed a. It is around 90 mm (more or less a few mm) and instead of having two separate ' gaps "(comme on pourrait identifier leur PCI-E x16), my had 5"deviations"in them.". " I plan to upgrade my computer and install a dedicated video card to replace my old Intel GMA 950 integrated chipset and I really need to know if it is PCI-E or another type of slot machine.

    Thank you.

Take a look at this image:

    http://i.Dell.com/images/global/learnmore/pcie_connector.jpg

You can tell from this image, the x 16 PCI-E has two what is called the 'gaps', a smaller on the right, a bigger to the left. What intrigues me is that the mine has five gaps, instead of two. I looked up my machine on the lenovo site, and it does not say it has a PCI-E slot, but just, he doesn't look like a PCI-E x 16. I really need someone to confirm this because if it is not PCI-E x 16 I have to get a PCI graphics card...

    Poweraml,

According to our product specifications, the ThinkCentre M52 9210 machine type has 2 expansion on a PCI riser slots:

    • Slot 1 is a half-length, x 1 PCI Express slot intended to be used with our connection card PCI-E DVI - D (part number 73 P 2516). To do this, not supported x 16 PCI Express adapters.
    • Slot 2 is a half-length, version 2.2, the PCI slot.

    These specifications are available at:

    http://www.Lenovo.com/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-60416#exp

    I hope this helps.

  • Number of processor

Hello again, I met another confusing problem again...

On this link, it says that my computer "Supports Intel Smithfield Pentium D processors with bus front end 2 x 1 MB L2 cache and 800 MHz.

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-60416#exp

And then under that, there is a whole line of processors supported. With this whole line of processors, does that mean that all of these processors will work on my machine?

    And then on another link:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-60450

It is said that it supports "Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz to 3.2 GHz, Presler processors.

Sorry if that seems confused (argh computer-related things are so confusing!) but I need to know the BEST possible support processor can handle this machine - Lenovo Thinkcentre M52 9210 - 28M.

I really need to clarify all this because I really want to buy a processor and then find out my Motherboard can't support and lose a hundred dollars.

    Thanks a lot again.

EDIT: Please answer to this as well, I looked at the numbers of Pentium D CPU on the Intel site and the lenovo specifications say, for example, the Pentium D 945, is not on the list of supported processors. I also compared and there no Intel virtualization technology, and the machine only supports processors with VT 9xx. Does make much difference if I put a processor without virtualization technology because my current Pentium 4 HT 531 has not.

It is, the computer can support Pentium D 945? * The only real difference between 945, i.e., the 940 is a higher clock frequency and is not Intel VT technology *.

    Hey Poweraml,

Have a look at the following three topics in Wikipedia - the first details of the development of the different Pentium 4 processors; the second contains a useful list of characteristics/differences and the third has details on the Pentium D processors.

    1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_4

    2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_4_microprocessors

    3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_D

The only processors that run on your machine are those who will sit in the LGA 775 socket. While your chipset may work with a Pentium D, the increase in the speed of the processor may be cancelled by the bus speed (the bottleneck which is still 800 MHz). In other words, you could spend a lot of money for a barely noticeable increase in performance.

But then, if someone else is paying, why not?

  • Need a bit of clarification here...

Hi, I was wondering if my machine 9210 M52 Thinkcentre (Small Form Factor) could support the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, because my Pentium 4 HT is getting old and I am looking for an upgrade.

I looked somewhere on the lenovo/IBM site and it says somewhere that the computer is capable of managing the Core 2 Duo. Then I looked on several forums, ask questions about the compatibiltiy with the processor, and they said that it was not possible. I also looked on the Intel site and it also sets out the motherboard and chipset is not compatible... what I need someone to actually clarfiy is that it can or can not handle the Core 2 Duo.

    Data sheet:

    Motherboard: Thinkcentre M52 - Socket LGA 775 3.3 Rev

Chipset: Intel 945G Express Chipset Family

    Thank you

    EDIT:

In fact, I read the page on the M52 detailed specifications and he registered the Pentium D taken processor supported higher... but the chipset CAN support the Core 2 Duo?

    Check these:

    http://www.Intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/945g/945g-overview.htm

    http://www.digit-life.com/articles3/mainboard/Foxconn-945g7ad-8EKRS2H-i945g.html

Format of different plug and voltage, you have to replace the whole motherboard for possible upgrade.

  • BIOS update question

Hi, I recently got a ThinkCentre M52 8113-E7U TC series

My question is about the BIOS update.

If I update to the latest version, this is includes all fixes from previous versions?

I noticed, that I can not boot from USB more than flash drives 2 GB, I see it as a fix in an update of the earlier BIOS, so if I update to the latest version of BIOS will it also include this fix?

    Thank you
