ThinkCentre M58p Tower - extra hard drive?

Hi all

I read that my M58p was a spare internal drive Bay, but looking inside I can't see a! Should there be one, and if yes, what happened to her?

There is plenty of space in there, just no Bay drive?

See you soon,.

AP

You can retrieve the part of IBM Service parts UK.

I'm not an expert on this system or the hard drive bracket, but it is possible that the media is a 3.5 "to"5.25 internal drive bay adapter. An internal drive Bay 5.25 "can be used for a variety of devices, not only 3.5" hard drives. Does this sound right?

  • Cisco BMI - extra HARD drive addition

    Hello

I bought a few extra hard drives for my server Cisco UCS C240 M3

Currently I have 16 x 300 GB SAS drives in a RAID 10 array and would add more than 8.

In BMI - storage - physical drive information they appear as not configured well.

    How I can not either;

    1. add additional to the existing table hard disks, without deleting the existing data?

    2. Add another virtual drive in RAID 10?

The server is running ESXi v5.5

    Thank you

    Steve,

Add more disks to your existing table without losing data should be an option of your storage array 1 - at work, I think it is called extension online something for LSI RAID controllers.

  • Qosmio G40 - 10F - extra hard drive

    Hello

I have recently purchase a G40 thinking it was x 2 of physical drives, it appears in this model there is only a single physical HD

I read in many places, there is room for the G40-10 for a reader to additional disk placed inside the machine but this model seems to have simply a fixed cover but the space for the reader to be mounted

Nobody knows of the back plate is removed and an additional hard drive caddy to store additional drive - it should be relatively simple with a heat dissipation and other I think all that is needed is the replacement carriage and connector cable SATA - x motherboard 2 recognisies readers

All I really want to know is

    (1) is it possible
    (2) is - someone doing it
    (3) toshiba reference numbers for the caddy and for a G40 - 10F sata cables

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G30, but I saw G40 and if I remember, although in the lower corner, that there are two HARD drives covers. Two of them are placed close to the battery, and they have one, how to say, plastic circle. AFAIK the G40 is offered with one or two hard drives. The first HARD disk is placed inside fixed with a screw. One extra is placed under the second HARD drive cover fixed with two screws.

I don't really know if your G40 is extensible, but you can contact the service provider authorized in your country. They have access to the database of Toshiba and they can check it for you. Part number is usually internal case and it is not easy to find number of exact part for these additional parts like the drive bracket HARD or cables.

Make a call and pick up information on the possibility of upgrade HARD drive.
One last thing: try to remove the cover for the second HARD drive and check if the HARD drive connector is there.

  • Add and extra hard drive to A706n

Can I add an extra internal hard drive to my A7806N? If yes which is recommended?

Your topic says A706n, so I will be with this:

    Computer A706n: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00232946

    Manual upgrade A706n (see page 12): http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00230511.pdf

    500 GB 16 MB cache: preferencehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136111 $85

    320 GB 8 MB cache: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136785 $65

BTW: Congrats on a circa 2004 XP machine. You must be kept very clean inside.  If it was my machine, I would clone the drive to replace and remove the old drive in an external enclosure. It is more than 7 years old. As the old drive probably has a 8 MB cache, you see some improvement with 16 MB cache. From my quick research for you, I found that 8 MB cache drive was 80-320 GB disks. The only 16 MB cache was the 500 GB.

  • Satellite A200-193 - installing an extra HARD drive

    Hello

I have a Satellite A200-193 and I would like to install one additional go 160 HARD drive into the free location.
The problem is that there is no SATA connector to this place (switch on the motherboard, not more).
I know there are computer A200 laptop with a second HDD and my question is "if I go into an official TOSHIBA Service Center, it is possible to install a SATA connector in this free site, this is to allow the installation of additional HARD drive?

If someone could help me on this point, it would be great.

    Thank you.

    Hi Mathieu

I see that you are a bit confused ;)
As you known t n, there are probably different Satellite A200 series a series helps the second HARD drive upgrade and some A200 series cannot be upgraded
But the A200 series was equipped with the same laptop covers

This means that you will find the second drive HARD on all mobile A200 Bay but the drive HARD (SATA) connectors don t exist on each series.
It seems that your laptop cannot be upgraded with the second HARD disk because of the second missing HARD drive interface.

I hope I can clarify this confusing question ;)

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200 - extra hard drive problem

When I bought my laptop the advisor at importers told me I could get an adapter so that I could put the second drive in my laptop but now when I want to get the adapter and another player, they want to charge me about a 3rd of the price of what I paid for the laptop! And I pay dealer prices goods... All seems like hold up for me! Especially seeing that we all know the price of hard drives is so low!

Can anyone help with a part number, or the details of this adapter so that I can order from abroad or find on ebay or something?

    Hello

I put t know which adapter you are which means exactly, but if you want to use a second HD in this notebook, then you should check first if the second HARD drive bay contains the necessary HARD drive connector.

You should know that not all laptops can be improved with the second HARD disk, even if the second HARD drive Bay is available!

Then remove the second Bay and check if there is a HARD drive connector!

  • Option extra HARD drive for R60e

I intend to upgrade 60GB HD 120 GB as shown in the option stock higher on the specifications page.  I can more than 120 GB with this model?

    Detailed features page:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-64245#Stor

Under "Storage" then "Hard Drive features", he States the following:

"The Ultrabay Slim hard drive adapter is designed to provide this flexibility with a second hard drive in the Ultrabay Slim housing."

It sounds like I can add a second HD which would be preferable as opposed to a swap HD and all the included facilities for this.   However, when we look at the news on the HD adapter I found this:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/MIGR-61161.html

Scroll to the "Notes" under "Hardware compatibility", and you will see this:

    "Not supported on ThinkPad R60e"

If this computer does not have the ability of a second HD or not?  Page plug implies it is, real part page States no.  I'm looking for if I have it or not?

the biggest hard drive you can press the internal Bay is 640 gig (there is a model with a capacity even higher), essentially any hard drive as long as they are in 2.5 inch format and 9.5 mm thick.

  • Extra hard drive to Compaq SG3-230UK desktop PC

Hi everyone / no matter who just got what I thought was a pc good report from pc world and assured that I could do what I had to do with him after talking with the seller (assured me I could put a second drive in)... I have a second hard drive to install but when I remove the side panel I can't seem to find any other power cable spare... also, there seems to be no possibility of upgrading at all because there is no pci only slots out of the pci-1 tiny ones so no chance to upgrade the graphics card etc in the future... I realize account it's my fault for not going in these things at once, but I would like to ask the second drive in... I think I need some kind of power cable splitter and a sata cable? may sound stupid, but I had only a laptop up to this point and am hoping at least the pc will have a second drive... I can see alternatives to the motherboard sata connections and assume one of them allows you to connect to?

any help or advice would be great...

You must draw the connectors. There are 3 sheets on this 180W PSU molex power.  We should have the SATA power molex plug adapter. Your right, you saw more SATA MOBO connections. The back problem will be to find a space for the reader and wiring. The manual at HP is generic, and I can't offer you any help or advice more.

  • Make an extra hard drive available in merger

I installed a new hard drive on my Mac Pro.  While I see it well in Mac OS, when I start Windows in VMware Fusion, I wasn't able to see my new hard drive initially.  I finally managed to make the new hard drive available for Fusion, but when I looked at the hard drive in MacOS, he created 22 files at the root of the hard disk labeled "Virtual Disk - s00X.vmdk" where "X" is a number from 1 to 22, a file labeled "Virtual Disk.vmdk" and a file folder labeled virtual disk.  It was not that I had set up the HDD correctly in Fusion so I removed it.

What all of the 22 files were created on my new hard drive?  How do I add and make it visible to my new hard drive in Fusion?

I installed a new hard drive on my Mac Pro.  While I see it well in Mac OS, when I start Windows in VMware Fusion, I wasn't able to see my new hard drive initially.

This is because you have not set up as a shared folder in VMware or a normal SMB/CIFS network share, which we know is not what you want from your response to the message of Entegy.

I finally managed to make the new hard drive available in merger...

If you had been successful then there will not be a need to post.

What all of the 22 files were created on my new hard drive?  How do I add and make it visible to my new hard drive in Fusion?

"22 records" with a hard extension, you deleted, composed the VHD that you added to the Virtual Machine.

What your wanting to do add the new physical disk to the Virtual Machine where it is natively accessible to the Virtual Machine and when the virtual machine is running, the disc will be not available natively on Mac OS X, is - that correct?  If Yes, with the exception of create the partition Boot Camp, Virtual Machine, VMware Fusion does support not the addition of physical hard disks to a VM via its GUI and will have to be done manually after have created you with vmware-rawdiskCreator located at: / Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/vmware-rawdiskCreator

  • H200A PERC. SAS and SATA. Simple 2 extra HARD drives raid. Possible?

    Hello.

Research in the server rack dell R210 II.

Added records 2 x 300 GB SAS with a PERC H200A raid controller.
The other two empty drive bays im looking to transfer courses two SATA 2.5 "HARD disk drives. Ive read you can mix SATA and SAS drives, is this true?

I have two options to the raid configuration:

the raid controller would be able to support two raid 1 RAID. 1 for the SAS drives and the other for the two SATA drives?   Operating system can see two disks.

He would support a raid 1 for hard 1 & 2 discs.  Then with disk HARD 3 & 4 show the HARD drive directly on the server.  OS sees thre readers.  The drive in question and two others.

I tried the dell chat, but could not get anywhere, as the helpdesk agent does not seem to know that you can google some caddy and buy the caddy to adapt to discs with no carts.

[murmur] I'm wrong :), but I think the H200 supported not RAID, so if left unconfigured, the disks will be seen by the operating system as the person/no RAID disks.  Also, if I am wrong not :), the H200 supports a maximum of 2 virtual drives, so would not work two 1-disk RAID 0 and a RAID 1 (in fact, it probably won't allow you to create a single drive RAID 0 in all). • Adding memory and an extra hard drive

I have a HP 595, which is a little less than a year and would like some advice on the following topics:

    (1) I currently have 6 GB of memory, using 3 of the 4 slots available. I understand that I have a MAX of 16 GB in the system. Can I replace one of the double modes giving a total of 6 GB on the 2 GB with 4 GB, and then buy a new 4 GB to put in the slot to spare, make an another 6 GB, giving me a total of 12 GB OR do I have to replace the existing 3 x 2 GB with more than 3 x 4 GB a new 4 GB or 16 GB total.

    (2) I understand that I can import a new HDD [internal] throughout the system, but the said number of spaces are inside the envelope for this purpose. Also can I mix drive types That is to say SATA and HOTEL.

    (3) If you chose to buy a PCI card to add to the machine, what type and why you would choose. I think along with a card that gives more USB connections.

    Your thoughts please.

    Greetings from David in Guildford

    dsc8w,

    ERICO did beautiful work.

    Here is the Service Manual

Pg15-22 should answer all your questions.

The departure of Expansion Bay on Pg15 references. It should be a 5.25 adapter "3.5 drive Bay".

Drive cage hard to 2 bays, your call of specifications for a single drive 1 t installed, see pg 19. You have a ready Bay!

Your system could come a GTX460 card, which would explain PCIEx16 card.

The access plate came to be deleted, see pg 22.

I am doing something wrong or it is impossible to start with the SD card in place and recognized him automatically?

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your flow 11 HP can't see not the SD card after a reboot. The Flash doesn't support 32 GB 64 GB. The SD card will not be read until you reinsert because it is not a device bootable or installed on your laptop.
