ThinkPad 8 - phone / SMS

I have a SIM card installed.

Is it possible to send SMS or even to make phone calls with the Thinkpad 8?

So far I've only used the 'function of the internet' SIM card.

I know the only sms app work:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Ringtones and the Notification Options for SMS text phone

I can't locate the profile of notification area (by following the instructions in the guide) on my "BOLD" to change the ringtone for phone and notification options for calls and texts in and out of the Holster.  I go to application Options, but there is no section for phone or SMS texts and not even in the Advanced Options section.  I remember correctly, I was able to make these changes in the application of profiles under subsection advanced... but not on the "BOLD". In addition, I somehow deleted my phone icon application when I hide and rearrange my icons.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the menu, profiles, scroll to the tip, press on in normal conditions (or which one is active), and you have the chance to change ringtones for phone, sms text, email and more.

For the phone icon, switch between topics (menu, options, themes and switch to another and do the same to the ones you use) and check if you have the item on the screen, (you don't need the phone icon, press the green button and is exactly the same function)

  • Can I send sms with Skype overview?

I saw Skype on my windows 10... but is it possible to send SMS with Skype preview because they said it's free... but I can't?

Not at the moment, but let me clarify that:

Before the update birthday you could send both SMS and Skype IM Messenger + Skype app, it stopped, and I think as functionality of it will go to Skype (we assume the application overview, but it may not be called that forever).

You can of course always send SMS from your PC using Cortana sends using your phones SMS service.

You can send SMS via Skype, but it currently costs money, so you need Skype credit or a subscription that included text Messages (not seen one of those).

  • Global search on the phone

    Hello

I wanted to do a search on all my phone: SMS applications, and so on and I wanted to have a widget or something like that to do.

In fact: this is the same behavior that you can find on the iphone (I think that the name is "finder"): when you cut it down: you have a proposal to search all over the iphone.

I wanted the same kind of things on the Xperia Z3 compact.

    Thanks for your help.

    Rgds,

    Hello

in fact, it works with the google search bar, the last time that I opened it, it asks me if I want to configure it to navigate on all phones, and it's beautiful, because it also works with "ok google..."

It gives me the result on the web, with a tab with the result on the phone...

Thank you for all your help.

  • BlackBerry Z10 ghost SMS/MMS/Email

    Hi all

Recently "converted" to Blackberry and I'm starting to like it, but having a few problems with 'Phantom' SMS notifications that appear on my home screen.

I checked my phone, SMS messages, and I am not able to see them. I rely on this phone for work, and missing messages SMS becomes a bit long in the teeth (if that's what actually happens).

Any idea on what is the cause and what is the solution?

    Hello Ben,

Thank you for your question regarding SMS notifications on your smart phone BlackBerry Z10.

As a test, having someone you know sends you a message test SMS to confirm whether or not it is received. It may be possible that your new notification SMS of a previous message has not erased.

If the message is not received, reinsert the battery as a test and if this fails to solve the problem, contact your mobile service provider for assistance.

However, I don't get SMS. If I click on the "setup" icon and go ahead with the "Setup wizard" he told me that "my account is now configured to run under PIN xxx" and asked me if I want to change pine.

Is there a connection there between SMS failure and the PIN problem?

    Same for email?

Should I wait until I'm back in Europe before proceeding with any PIN code or other major changes?

    Thank you

You use if you encounter difficulties with the TEXT, then go to Options-> text-> Service Centre SMS: you must put in your SMS service center No. operator.

Occasionally when I use my phone (SMS or internet) notice I say 42% the level of the battery, then when I close the application I was using or change of screens than all of a sudden, it seems that only 20%.  How could I lose 22% in an instant?  Is there something wrong with my phone?

    Help!

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following tips:

1 disable all background apps of the selector of the App (by double clicking the home button)

2 turn off background App Refresh(Settings>General>Background App refresh>turn off)

    3. hard reboot your device by pressing home and sleep/wake button together until the Apple logo appears.

    4. now check if the problem persists.

If so, contact Apple in a chat session and they will do the online diagnostic check and let you know if there is a hardware problem or software.

If its software problem, you can perform a full reset and restore your device via itunes to solve.

If its hardware, get on the first bus to near the location of the Apple Store/Service.

    Let me know the status.

    Thank you.

  • Issue of dual sim - impossible to get two sims work

I have a sim card I want to use for phones / SMS and the other that I want to use for mobile data.

If I put two sim itself, it works very well.

If I combined both and set them so that they are both on, that I want to use for the phone calls and texts does not record on its network (which is three in the United Kingdom)

I don't know what to do. The telephone company have adjustable it so it does not work in a setting dual sim?

Or have I just don't understand what is dual sim?

    Any help much appreciated!

    Stoichkov-

The phone is dual SIM which means that standby, either number can receive a phone call. If you can not do mobile data and voice at the same time. You can prioritize the phone for voice or data. If prioritize you data and you surf the net and you receive a call, the call will go to voicemail. If you have a priority to voice then the call will ring through and data will stop.

You should be able to do the WiFi and voice simultaneously.

You can have live data on a SIM card at a time. Hope that things cleared up.

  • Classic BlackBerry limiting incoming emails to contacts

On my old phone (BB Bold 9900) I could easily limit the incoming emails to people in my contacts list. I have not been able to find a way to do this on my new classic. Any suggestions?

I've never used that and didn't remember she had E-mail blocking. I knew that he had phone, sms and pin code.

Unfortunately, you are right, there is no firewall like this about BB10.

What e-mail service, are you using? I suggest using an email service that offers a better filtering on the server.

  • BlackBerry Z10 z10 partially locked

I bought a Z10, a little more than a week, and after that I loaded this morning I can open only the Hub, phone, SMS, voice command, browser applications. But mostly I can't open settings, advice, help, etc. When I press the icon, the screen turns as if opening the app and it closes immediately. Unfortunately, purchased this phone unlocked so I can't ask assistance.

Hi @haf99! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

Were you still running a hard reset? You don't mention what troubleshooting steps you have done, I don't have much to work with.

To perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone, follow these steps:

    1. Remove the battery cover at the back of the smartphone.
    2. Remove the battery and reinsert it and then after a few seconds.
    3. Replace the battery cover.
  • Passport for blackBerry Email notifications

    Hello

I don't have a sound notification for email. I got the notification LED for email and sound for phone and texts. I've read the threads of related support BB, nothing helps. Sound very good words for the phone, texts, music files, etc.

I go to settings > Notifications > Normal > personalize the Notifications App and 'e-mail' nor my email provider name appear in the list of Applications or other Applications. The proposed list is: phone, SMS, calendar, BBM meetings, Blackberry World, browser, Cloud file Service, Contacts, maps, Messages of PIN, history Maker, and visual voicemail.

The absence of the "email" option may be the problem.

Do you know what may be the culprit?

    Thank you.

    Al

If the problem has been resolved in five minutes by the technicians of Bell corporate store (Eaton Centre), specifically Milton Edwards and but Ganab. They have set up a second e-mail account, which resulted in the appearance of 'Emails' bar ' Normal - App notifications. Then they removed this additional account. Remarkably, the "Emails" bar remained. A test led to the familiar "bong" for an incoming message default. Previously, they had reset the device, but that did not help. Thanks for your replies. I hope my experience can help others.

  • Profiles notification API

I create an application that uses notifications.

Under profiles > advanced > (select any profile) > edit, there are products like browser, MMS, calendar, phone, SMS...

I would like to ask if I can add an article here for my application because I want the user to simply change the settings here. If I can, any advise what API should I use?

    Need help bad!

OK - I understand your question, I think.

Launch you your Notification, and the BlackBerry system plays tones and vibrates the phone, regardless of the user defined in the profile. You do not have it in your program.

So you register your notice, then you fire NotificationsManager.triggerImmediateEvent () when you want the notification to happen.

The BlackBerry fires sounds, either, according to the current settings for the active profile.
