ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth keyboard: how to enable horizontal scrolling?
Hi all
any advice on "how to enable horizontal scrolling" on my Bluetooth keyboard external ThinkPad?
It is available with my current ThinkPad 450 and was with my a previous T420.
I bought the keyboard because it has the same layout and the trackpoint, but I had no idea that the behavior would be different.
Thank you very much for your help.
Goodbye Kenny

Install OSX 10.11.4 I do cleaning but R command will not work. With the help of USB keyboard so not wifi issues to to worry. Help?
Would you like to share why you must do a clean install?
You can try the recovery of the internet (which will work if your older model has been updated to enable of): hold command + Option + R until you see a progress bar (take a while). It will connect you to the Apple servers. When you see the utility window, choose disk utility to erase your disk and when you're done, choose to reinstall OS X.
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support
PS: Correction: I think not yours can be updated; in this case, you will need the original installation disks to wipe the drive and reinstall.

R500 + Dock + fingerprint USB keyboard does NOT work properly
USB keyboard does NOT work before Windows logon. (Start-password to type with the laptop keyboard) Also the external keyboard fingerprint reader does never work in this configuration.
(With my old Z60m, same keyboard and docking station even works well, except the startup password must be entered with the keyboard, the keyboard USB fingerprint reader does NOT work at this point.)

boot thinkpad t61 without keyboard
I have the following problem with my Thinkpad T61.
Every few minutes the computer begins to behave as if you press a few keys on the keyboard. The keys are not physically stuck, the system behaves just as if they were. Sometimes happens for no apparent reason, but I can still get there by pressing any kye on the bottom right of the keyboard.
I concluded that the keyboard is faulty and ordered a new.
In the meantime, I am using my laptop with an external (USB) keyboard. This does not solve the problem completely, b/c the laptop still allows the internal key, so always it messes up too frequently. I tried to disable the keyboard, but does not have Device Manager to enable me to do. I thought to remove the keyboard, but then I don't have a power button!
Does anyone have an idea for me to know how to use my laptop until the replacement keyboard arrives?
Is it possible to start the computer without keyboard connected?
If you have the wake on lan feature enabled from the bios, then you may be able to get the machine so that it starts by sending a magic packet from another computer on the network.
Other than that you need a dock, which have an external switch.

Mounting USB keyboard freezes internal keyboard and trackpad
Hello world
Spent an hour looking for a solution to this so I hope this isn't a problem of repetition. I am using a wired USB keyboard (DYNEX model No.: DX-WKBDSL) with my MBP end 2011, but whenever I have set and keyboard Setup Assistant appears my internal trackpad immediately stops responding and my internal keyboard sounds fair to me if I tap on a button. This keeps me from hitting continue setting. If I unplug the USB keyboard, I immediately regain control of my internal input devices. Disks hard USB and flash drives cause no problems. I need to be able to use my usb full keyboard, so I have a 10 key. Can someone help me?
I noticed the guys like the thing EtreCheck here so I just ran on my machine (obviously without my keyboard usb attached since that would freeze everything). I hope that helps!

Hello dickie1967,
Make sure that Windows did recognize your external device properly:
Open the Device Manager and look for, if you have a double aspect of the USB keyboard. If you do, please remove the item that has a circular yellow sign with an exclamation point.

USB keyboard will not type certain keys
New USB keyboard used with the (retina, end of 2015) iMac running OS X El Capitan. Some of the keys are dead. Have reset the PRAM: issue is not resolved. Have you tried the keyboard on a MacBook Air: problem does not disappear. Have checked the keyboard settings (input methods, etc.). Nothing abnormal. Any suggestions?

Hello:
An illustration of the PC, I see that there are PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports.
You should be able to install W7 if you replace the usb keyboard and mouse PS/2 ones.
This USB creator utility must also have worked, so I don't know what to say on this subject.
But the post below my answer which has been marked as being the solution indicates that a PS/2 KB and mouse will also work.

After to start the PC with keyboard eneramx connected the qosmio has not loaded windows vista Ultimate edition and the inside wheels have been activated.
Never happened before. I doubted the enermaxReconnected to the position of the qosmio USB, there on the back not granted to start-up of turbines problems
As the enermax, that he has never blocked the startup of the operating system and to activate turbines also have plugged into the same USB port to which priority was connected a keyboard?Tank you
Hi mate
Sorry, but you message I am really hard to understand
What I understand is that you connected an external keyboard on the Qosmio and now the laptop will not boot properly. Is this good? What to say; Maybe you disable USB legacy mode in the BIOS.
Please check this!

Why my USB keyboard did stop working?
Can some tell me why my USB keyboard stopped working after I upgraded my mac OS X EL Capitan 10.11.4?
Seems that Apple had broken the old apple keyboard wired usb on OS X 10.11.4. New Apple wireless keyboard worked fine.
Was not working at boot time and didn't work with windows bootcamp and did not work when started from the recovery partition, so it must be a problem with boot loader.
Reseting EPRAM and SMC has failed.
Time Machine restore to old 10.11.3, 10.11 install USB appears to only way to solve the problem.
With old 10.11 usb install, because the keyboard did not work at boot time and restoring from Time Machine backup starting 10.11.4 recovery partition broke my fusion disk partition tables. I had to manually destroy disc fusion and remove partitions on the hard drive and ssd of command-line diskutil and create new logical volume of fusion in the car and after that he restore backup from Time Machine.
Very well of the keyboard now work but lost 1 day and Windows 10/bootcamp partition in the process.
I have iMac 27 "5 k end of 2015, but I like to use wired keyboard numpad because.

HP Compaq DC7900 SFF - no support BIOS for USB keyboard/mouse
I recently bought a lease out vintage 2009 DC7900-Windows 7 Home Premium running. It has connectors from the motherboard and BIOS support for a PS2 Keyboard and mouse. There also card mother support for USB but apparently BIOS does not support a USB keyboard and a mouse. Y at - it a BIOS update that adds support for USB keyboard and a mouse?
Thank you
Well, I found what seems to be the problem. My USB keyboard and mouse are connected to a KVM switch that in turn connects to the HP PC. The KVM cable provides keyboard and mouse via a simple USB connection. I have connected a second USB keyboard directly to another USB port, and as you say, the BIOS it supported. I then connected the USB keyboard and mouse for a simple USB hub and then to the HP PC, and BIOS does not recognize the keyboard once more. It would seem that the problem is that the BIOS of the PC HP does not support keyboard behind a USB hub connectivity. I have no detailed knowledge of USB connectivity but could guess that there must be a difference Protocol when I hub is in the Middle – obviously the PC must focus on a specific device behind the hub.
In the end, I think I'm stuck just keep a separate keyboard (PS/2 or USB) around for those times when I need to communicate to the BIOS.
I have another PC of the same vintage - a custom platform - and it handles the keyboard behind the hub very well. I wonder if all new PC BIOS handle this.
Thanks again for your responses - very useful.

When you use Roland FC300 footswitch to control transport LOGIC, all midi keyboard USB (UMA25s) notes do not reach the logic.
They are visible using MIDI Monitor s/w so reach the OS X - but do not make SENSE.
I tried the function of the environment of the logic and the double check OS X Midi Setup but no difference statistically.
I would appreciate any help on how to proceed.
Thank you
Paddy
I do not understand your post. Your use the FC300 to control logic - how is it connected? Is it plugged into the keyboard via middle or did you connect to logic directly via a midi interface? (sense are the keyboard and the FC300 connected independently.
When you say midi notes reached illogical (those transmitted by the FC300 or those via the USB keyboard do you mean?).
First thing to do is to circumvent the control surfaces to exclude...
Then, the control screen the custom value and see if data midi reached logical... If his hitting the midi monitor 99.9% sure it is hitting logic.
