All this happens after I updated my BIOS and has never been a spill of liquid on the keyboard.
Any idea on this freaking problem?

    Hello

I can't imagine that this problem could be linked to the new version of the BIOS.
Maybe it of a simple bad luck that this keyboard problem appeared after the BIOS update.

From my point of few, it looks like malfunctioning hardware keyboard.
But to confirm this diagnosis, you should try workarounds.

    * 1 * workaround: first enter the BIOS and set its default value.

    * 2nd * solution: disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery, hold down power button / stop along 30 sec. Finally, reconnect the two devices.

    * 3rd * workaround: connect the external USB keyboard and test functionality.

In case the USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem is related to the fault of the internal keyboard.

  • L750-1LC - BIOS Update & policy of Toshiba Satellite

I own a Satellite L750-1LC and got not even 2 months ago so it is covered with the guarantee and the additional service of guaranteed etc. nomatterwhat.

A few days ago I was updating the laptop as Tempro prompted me to do, and generally update is not
something I was doing for the first time.

On the latest BIOS update, the pc restarted and then when the Office stood, process the Flashmemory - erase/write went up and out of nowhere, a pop-up message with an error halted all, computer laptop froze and officially since that time, the laptop was kind of death.

Searching through forums, I discovered that there is a problem with this update of the BIOS and others
    had passed through the same.

Now, what is the policy of Toshiba when you give them the laptop for the problem to be solved.

First, they asked me WHY I was updating... (emm, own software guests of Toshiba you too even if you are just a beginner with the PC is not so difficult)

Secondly, they said that I am lucky because they will fix it for free because I have this nomatterwhat warranty... (... I thought guaranteed nomatterwhat would be a replacement laptop dead...?)

Third, told me that usually the BIOS update is made of Toshiba service and not only by myself and because the laptop died of a software problem is not their fault... (Excuse me? BIOS update pushed at Toshiba... makes your laptop dead and is your fault instead of Toshiba, recognizing that it's absolutely their fault in the
    first place...)

The thing is that I wanted to share it with you all and of course I try to contact Toshiba with the history because I can't accept their mistake became mine and I have to pay for something they have caused intentionally or not...

    Hello

This interesting story from my experience I never had problems with a BIOS update. I did it several times on my two different laptops Toshiba.
I always used a version of BIOS based on the victory, which must be secured.

But a friend of mine had an update of the BIOS issue... something went wrong during the procedure because the antivirus and Firewall blocked something, but not sure about that the laptop was not too bad however, the ROM module had to be flashed once more using crisis disk that I can remember the ASP could again using this flash drive was all done for free even if the warranty was not valid

    welcome them

  • ThinkPad T430 cannot change order of Bios Boot

last day, I just bought new thinkpad T430 machine, when I try to change the boot order priority by default in the BIOS, the menu is disable, I can't change anything. Is - this thinkpad T430 came with default supervisor password? Did anyone here knows the default value of the supervisor password?

FYI, when I try to enter the BIos, it asks for the password, and I just press ENTER to access the bios.

If you check in the BIOS under boot, what does say beside the command lock Boot? If it is enabled, you can change this for are disabled? Thanks Ferrym.

  • 7140 "no bootable device not found" after BIOS update

Just ran the update of the BIOS on my 7140 and my system does not start.  When starting, it immediately presents "no bootable device found" and some options to retry/configuration/diag.  I ran diagnostics and 'Hard Drive 0-0-0' line tests OK.

I'm guessing that the Secure Boot is messed up.  Can someone tell me what should be the default settings?  Is there a personal touch and should be set?

My tablet is running I'll share what I did in case others get hit by him.  I went into the BIOS and verified Secure Boot and it's been activated, although apparently it was not activated "actually".  I disabled and enabled the boot Rom Legacy and rebooted.  The machine is in how recovery mode I could have deciphered the entire disk (not secure boot manufacturing necessary), but I decided to not go down that road right now.  (FYI - if you have registered your device with your real account, your decryption key can be found there.)  I know people have privacy on this matter, but it could really help in a pinch like that).

I closed this and went back into the BIOS setup.  I unchecked Legacy ROM and then turned back on Secure Boot.  Apply, exit, restart.  Started upward and works.  I have several other concerns since the updates that came out yesterday, but I'm going to start new threads for those.

  • ThinkPad T400 not display after BIOS update

    Hello dear,

I updated my BIOS via Lenovo BIOS update and everything went successfully and it asked me to restart your computer after the BIOS update and now I don't get any screen, I waited like 10-15 min to see if I can see something and saw it started and I've updated my drivers for win 7 ultimate and when restarting again I don't have no matter what screen and I wait 20 more to see if I get something.  Anyone else facing the same problem here after the BIOS update?

What should I do guys then, I always let the warranty? Update BIOS removes the guarantee?

    dreewoo,

I'm not familiar with your ISO info tool, but at least on side Windows, these things are often empty.

When the pieces of work are all in [BOOT] they appear in the form of data files.  When I look at this ISO with 7zip, I see:

    [BOOT]-> Bootable_HardDisk.img-> 0.fat, which seems pretty normal.

Have you actually tried starting the CD?

  • ThinkPad S230u wake after sleep of TSRI since BIOS update

I use S230u (processor i7, 8 GB of RAM, 500GB HDD + 24 GB SSD) with Windows 8 x 64 for half a year now and so far everything works perfectly.

I IRST activated and when I put it in mode 'sleep', it automatically records the State of SSD after an hour. That has worked very well so far - I can put it to sleep for short periods and then get up instantly and if I put it to sleep because more it will record in SSD and not use battery - when I wake up, it's flashing red LED for a while and the system comes back online.

However, this Friday, I installed the BIOS - update 1.57.1.57 to 1.61.1.61 update (at least according to the system update history).

Since Friday when I try to wake him up, he does not work if sleep is longer than one hour (or almost) and that the State has been stored in SSD. The Red led continues to blink, but nothing happens - after 1-2 minutes, the system restarts and Windows loads again.

I want to downgrade the BIOS and doublecheck that is the question - maybe it's another patch Windows or Lenovo, so I want to be sure.

I have already located the driver BIOS (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032000) downloads and wonder if BIOS to check if this is the problem of decommissioning can break anything with my laptop?

When I start the pc, F2, press c to boot from the CD-ROM, I get in a dos environment. I went to the drive Z, "dir" and see the bios.exe that I've burned to cd. To run it I type bios.exe and continue to be 'command unrecognized file name' when I type dir *.exe, he does not see the file either.

    Hello

Your described method does not apply to Toshiba laptops.
Each computer laptop manufacturers supports various BIOS update procedures

    Toshiba on this page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/downloadDetail.jsp?soID=356848&PF=true
Here you can download the latest version of the BIOS for Tecra 8100

The 4810.25 package must be unpacked everything first.
Then you should check the files available.
There is a readme.txt file that describes how to update BIOS using the ISO to CD.

    I hope I could help

There are updates of bios for my laptop, and so I thought I would try a flash update. I can only find the Trad version and not the flash version of Win.
the problem is that the traditional flash update file asks you to create a bootable cd for the update procedure. Software CD, Toshiba in their wisdom have provided a cutting of the version of "save now". Guess what this special version of toshiba cannot create a bootable cd you have to spend £25 for the full version.
Someone knows, there is a version of the flash upgrade Win

    Hello Andy

As far as I know just BIOS updates listed on the download from Toshiba site are available. I guess that your unit is a relatively new. If you have any problems with this device do not do any BIOS update. Only if there is a problem the update of the BIOS by using external devices or something like that is recommended.

    Good bye

  • Problem running 4,80 Bios Update on the Satellite P100-473

    Hello
I have a satellite P100-473 enriched with 4 GB of ram, using ubuntu 10.04 lucid 64 with nvidia driver.

Problem with often increase GPU to high temperature (over 100 ° C) using sensors applet to check.

    I guess that's a BIOS and a driver problem.

Windows 7 x 64 I don't have this problem with the latest nvidia driver (using speedfan to check the temperature)

I tried to Flash the bios with the latest version => _Update.exe BD1_BIOS (V4.80) version 4.0, I actually and all flashing same mistake you Error - 121. update of DXE etc...

While the .exe to extract the contents of the flash on your c:\tmp I'll try a bios flash with a bootable usb key and phlash.exe with the BD13C43. WPH.

The problem is to find the phlash.exe official back... Phoenix does not provide such tools ;(

I understand the need of simple bios flash on windows... but I don't understand the .iso missing for flashing at the start when the operating system does not match...

If you have an idea thanks ;)

Toshiba has offered traditional old BIOS updated (diskette), a long time ago. Now you can find WIN updates only.
You can try to contact the closest service Toshiba and ask if they have traditional BIOS update.

  • Satellite L40 - 12K - BIOS update failure

    Hi people,

It is the second Toshiba laptop, I've managed to screw up. I don't know why, but it seems that Toshiba is especially prone to spectacular failure of BIOS.

This laptop (Satellite L40 - 12K, short model PSL40E) has a bios made by FRIEND and Toshiba has an update on its Web site for windows that uses the tool of WinFlash.exe made by ASUS.

The tool only works for 32-bit operating systems, and I had installed a 64-bit version of Windows, I could not pass the laptop.

Then I thought: we will try to update the bios from MS-DOS, using a bootable flash drive!

I went to the ASUS ftp site and downloaded the latest AFUDOS (2.41). This is a special version of the afudos FRIEND tool, specially designed for ASUS.

I ran the tool under MS-DOS, and it will make sure the BIOS automatically confirmed that the binary file was compatible with the laptop model and automatically starts the process of flashing.

But it crash in the phase of "flash erase". He was stuck there for HOURS, so I turned off the computer and tried to turn it back on.

Not at all, the laptop won't turn. It does not even ANY SOUND. NO LIGHTS, NO NOISE, NO FAN, NOTHING.

    ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY DEAD.

So, there you have it. I have flashed dozens of computers (servers, laptops, workstations, etc.) in my life, and I've only had TWO failures.

TWO of them were with Toshiba laptops. Geez, Toshiba is really the King of the failures of BIOS flashing!

    Hello

I would never try update the Toshiba BIOS with a BIOS from other support pages for computer laptop manufacturer
What to say; I found one from Toshiba victory of the BIOS and traditional BIOS Toshiba U.S. driver page:

    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

Maybe you could try to Flash the BIOS using this version of BIOS
If this is not possible, then only a service provider authorized Toshiba would be able to help you.

By the way: I've had three different Toshiba notebooks: A210, U400, and now Tecra A11.
The BIOS update has worked perfect for all series...

  • Satellite L630 dead after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite L630 laptop model PSK00E-017019EN (British model).

An analysis of software Toshiba recommends an update of the BIOS and that I had a few problems with the laptop, I decided to let it run... big mistake!

The laptop will now not enter bios is effectively dead.

I downloaded different versions of the crisis Phoenix Recovery Disk (that will build a bootable USB key with MINIDOS. SYS, PHLASH16. EXE and a generic BIOS. WPH) and have also downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the toshiba site.

The downloaded BIOS Toshiba is an exe SL630_L635_WIN_B140.exe file that will extract the following files using WINRAR (I tried also pick up the files in %Temp%, after you run the exe with the same result).

The files that I get are:

    BB10140. FD (4170kb)

    Ding.wav (104 KB)

    InsydeFlash.exe (764 KB)

    iscflash.dll (1760 KB)

    iscflash.sys (14 KB)

    iscflashx64.sys (23 KB)

    and platform.ini (9kb)

I expect to see the real bios in the form xxxx.rom or xxxx. WPH so that I could add this to the bootable flash drive to reflash the bios.

So my real question, can someone direct me to where I can download the correct BIOS. ROM file for this laptop and also where I can get the right version of the software Phoenix crisis Recovery Disk.

Also could you confirm the correct key sequence to start on crisis Recovery flash drive... I've seen talk of the F and B FN FN (both used without battery and plugging in the adapter, then power button / stop)... the FN routine F seems to start the Flash Player, but obviously without the right file WPH will not solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Phil

To be honest, I don t think that BIOS ROM module needs to be replaced.
In my opinion the ROM module must be flashed again using a special disc of crisis of the BIOS.
I recommend you contact Toshiba service and pay a small fee for the flash ROM module.
It is much better solution to handle the motherboard.
