ThinkPad Twist and WiDi

Can anyone confirm if I purhcase the twist with i7, Intel HD 4000 and Intel Centrino 2200 BGN WiFi (not the Lenovo ABGN), I'll be able to use WiDi?

No where in the specifications that they mention WiDi at all.

Hello

I can confirm... I bought a Lenovo Twist 2 weeks and Wireless Display (WiDi) works. I hope, it's always interesting to you ;-)

Best regards, Schniedel

  • Storage of ThinkPad Twist

    Hello!

This will be like a silly question, but I can't answer on my own, so I thought I would ask here.

My company has just purchased a Lenovo's ThinkPad Twist for me (I'm a big fan of Lenovo). I'm just trying to give a sense specifications for storage. In my local disk system details, he said I have a 456 GB HDD (which I understand to be the hard drive), but on the fact sheet on the product, it says 128 GB SSD (that I understand to be a solid state drive). I think it means that I have both, in other words, I have storage hybrid, right? And if I don't have a hybrid storage, is it correct to assume that the solid state drive is used to store my files on the system and it is inaccessible as usable for me storage space, right? I noticed that the speed at which the system starts and I know that it is an advantage of SSDS. I like that!

I learn only recently on the SSDS and I am eager to learn more. I would appreciate any information anyone! Thank you!

The most common for a twist storage options are either:

    (1) HARD drive coupled with a small mSATA SSD storage (about 24 GB) hybrid. In this configuration, the SSD is used only as a caching drive. Transparent caching disk data caches to speed up startup and operating system and is generally not accessible to the user. If you have a caching drive, it is usually as a disk 1 tab of the Task Manager performance and disk 0 is normally the main drive.

    (2) SSD without disk caching. More full-size SSD being faster than the getting started disc cache which is included on these models, there is no point in adding in an mSATA cached disk.

Your business could have gone with configuration, either a custom when ordering the machine configuration. You can watch the PO to determine how your company has decided to set up the machine.

How do we change this computer to use the 2.4 Ghz for the 5.0 Ghz a wavelength. My Microsoft Surface Pro works on why 5.0 can not this computer there is a double prohibition?

    Help!

So why didn't it connects to your router on the 5.0 GHz band?

Did you have to do something special for your other 5.0 GHz Wireless N cards to connect to your router?

    Answer to?  N °

Then explain to me why you can't connect to the 5.0 GHz with the AC map Strip?

HP has put the designation of expertise because I have solved thousands of questions from members of the forum, not me.

It's not my problem if you cannot accept the facts of the case.

Of course, it's a card dual band.

On the band of 2.4 GHz and AC on the 5.0 GHz band Wireless N Wireless.

If you want this map to be able to connect to the 5.0 GHz frequency, then you need to upgrade your router to router dual-band wireless AC.

  • Conflict of Bluetooth and WiDi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160

I have a HP Envy 17 laptop t-j100 with 4th generation CPU i7-4700mq as well as the NIC Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.  The Wifi and Bluetooth worked well. However, Bluetooth has stopped working and has disappeared from the list of devices in Device Manager after you install Intel WiDi software.

Can Bluetooth and WiDi coexist on this map of 3160 AC? If so, how to make two of them work?

    I appreciate your kind help.

Hello gyshen, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you have a problem with the Bluetooth works on your laptop after installing software WiDi. I will try to help you with this.

What do you mean, by installing software WiDi? Where have you installed this from?

Deepen the question for you and to answer your questions, both can "coexist" using the map Intel AC 3160. This is confirmed here: Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.

The processor is also supported: Intel® Core™ processor i7-4700MQ.

I suggest try to update/install the two drivers (without wireless/bluetooth). They are here:
    Driver LAN wireless Intel 7260/3160
    Driver Bluetooth 4.0 Intel

I'll also give you this document: Using Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) of media to your TV display as it can be useful to you.

I have disabled the powermangement of input devices USB/Humaninterface/Device Manager.

Sometimes a reboot works, today, there is not.

    What should I do?

I had this problem before, and it could be the material in function.

One of the sure way to know if it is a hardware based problem, is to go into the menu of the BIOS and see if you can navigate the menu of BIOS from the touch.

  • ThinkPad Twist battery drains to almost zero recharge to 50% and then again (repetitions) releases

I upgraded to win 8.1 (RTM) last night in the Windows store. I noticed the above behavior (see subject line) when my PC turns off with battery RC alert even if it was connected to the power supply with power all the time by using the otiginal AC adapter. It does not load past 50% never.

I uninstalled dependencies of parameters Lenovo package because it would not let me adjust battery settings at all, and I uploaded as 8.1 Lenovo Win and installed. (grsd22ww package 1.3.0.22 has published 26/09/2013). This allowed me to see certain parameters of the battery, but I do not know that the old setting for the maintenance of the battery life had disappeared. I can only adjust waiting 30 days (on) and stretching to battery (off).

This is quite annoying because I want to take the PC off ac use mobile, but it is not cool enough for the job real network! Help, please.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Paul

I put a big power adapter on it (a 90 W Lenovo Slimline one, rather than the 65W one) and now the machine costs at 100% and remained there for the night. Yes, problem solved. I guess that my 1.5 external USB 3.0 to attached disk backup could have been a factor? Don't really know, because it had never been a problem before.

  • ThinkPad T550 and VBOX = nogo

    * Cross-posted on the forum of Virtualbox too *.

    Hi all

have just taken out of service with my trusty X 230 and installed the SSD in a Thinkpad T550 (I7 5600U). In the X 230, everything worked as it was supposed to with this config - 8 Debian, Kernel 3.19.3 and Vbox 4.3.26. 16 GB of memory and hard drive SSD overall.

When I try to transfer the above configuration to the T550 (kernel compile in the period of transition also) all I get is panic the kernel. I tried with another guest of OS (Linux Mint) under VB to rule out the possibility that doze 8.1 could be the culprit, no joy. Start VB on the new box and lights out. Given that the T550 is executed on a different generation of the Intel compared to the X 230 (Broadwell vs Ivy Bridge).

Once the kernel has re - compile on the new box, DKMS is obviously something.

    The most popular ideas.

    Kind regards

I'm at a loss to understand your question.

    A workarounf/workaround has been found-

The nosmap parameter in grub.cfg online "/vmlinuz - linux... "will avoid the lights go out at the start of the VB.

  • ThinkPad 10 and NFC on Windows 10

    Hello

Just bought myself a new Thinkpad 10 128 GB... love the new Tablet so far and implemented at the operating system level to Windows 10.

In fact I never checked before the upgrade, but after the upgrade, device manager says

    NFC I2C device

Take a look at this thread - it might be useful:

  • Error 2101: ThinkPad T430 and Nocti OCZ 120 GB

    Hello

After about a month of use, I suddenly got an error: "2101: Drive error detection on hdd2 (sata mini)". Simply by browsing the internet system hung up and after the reboot, that the error appeared.

I read that people here had same error just after the Assembly of their SSD - mine has worked for a few weeks.

The problem appeared shortly after the auto BIOS update but not right after flash. 2 or 3 reboots went smoothly.

Strange, it is now my BIOS version 1.16 when crashes version 1.17 - on the web since last Wednesday the update went Saturday.

Any ideas how to avoid sending anything (laptop and SSD) to RMA?

I already have RMA to OCZ ticket but want to save time and do not want to lose the data.

Besides I don't know if this isn't the BIOS: Lenovo's new.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Gootchio

Okay, this Monday, I had Nocti replaced by OCZ and it works great - now

So it was no fault of Thinkpad.

  • Recommended solution for Thinkpad Tablet and VGA projectors?

I ordered a Thinkpad Tablet hoping to use it for a teaching tool, but I face a common problem: most classrooms (and indeed, most conference rooms for business) are projectors VGA.

I know there are a variety of converters HDMI / VGA (using Active electronic components, of course), but I was wondering if Lenovo recommends a solution or if anyone has first-hand experience (perhaps with the Ideapad tablet, or perhaps with a review of the Thinkpad Tablet model) connect to a VGA projector.

An extra (a little more specific question), it's the mini-HDMI output provides power to work something like the HP-HDMI-VGA connector. If not, are there drivers to support a USB output device / VGA (which are available for Windows, but uncommon on Android).

Thanks in advance for comments or suggestions!

The HP adapter works without external power supply with a warning: the output resolution is the native resolution of the Tablet, which seems to cause distortions on 4:3 monitors and slight overscan issues at least a part is watching 16:9. For my purposes (conferences mathy things), it seems it will work fine, although I will take a piece of chalk tomorrow just in case.

  • model 2009 ThinkPad SL300 and system/software issues

Nice place, have you all here... I found through a Google search.

I just bought a ThinkPad SL300 under XP Pro opportunity.  It is a unit of work/Office who has been assigned to a guy who later decided that he wanted a Mac for a short period.  After that, he was sitting on the shelf in a closet of equipment for nearly a year.  Generally, I think that the Lenova is correct but it doesn't have many questions.

First of all, the guy who put it in place user names in his name, and one on behalf of her child.  I was able to remove these names of users through the Control Panel, but when I look at the tree DOS systems using a right click / Explore everything I still see them.  And I'm unable to edit or delete user names.  And when I try to change them I get a message from file system.  So it appears their usernames are integrated in the system tree somewhow BACK.

Then my own name appears on the login screen and if I'm using the control panel and administrative tools, but when I right click and see all my name does not appear in the tree.  Strange.

Software: when I installed my software of MS Office 2003 installed and runs, but under the name of the child - even if I went into the admin tools and changed this user name.  And when I click on help / about it shows such software that saved the child.

My first question: How can I change the name in the tree of the system (C:\)?

Then, the Office 2003 software seems to have installed fine. Word, Excel, MS Office Outlook all load and run.  I guess that I don't care if he says Jethro Bodine as long as it works...

Finally, about MS Office Outlook, when I've quand j' ai importe imported my contacts they load in the Contacts folder and the list appears when I click on Contacts.

However, when I click on New to create a new message, and then click to select a recipient, the selection window opens and is empty - not a contact to be seen.

Where the contacts? I suspect it's a matter of file location in the perspective to implement, but I can't find it and correct using the options.

An overview of these issues will be appreciated.  If it comes to push and push, I guess I could just reformat the HD and start over.  If it becomes necessary, I want to do before I'm too invested in the system.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rick

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Shut down your system, turn it on and press the blue button in the upper left when the thinkpad logo appears, follow this guide step 5 thereafter:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70803

The whole process is pretty self-explanatory. This will again put your SL to factory State, but it will work only if the hidden recovery partition is always kept on the computer by the owner previous, also bare in mind that everything will be removed from the system during the recovery process.

    It will be useful.

  • Inspiron 15z 5523 and WIDI

Does the 15z 5523 support WIDI (wireless display)? I think if purchase Netgear PTV3000, but I'm confused about knowing if it works or not. I'm already planning on replacing the card wireless with an Intel Centrino 6235. Not sure if this makes a difference or not.

My understanding at this point is that I need an Intel I3, I5 or i7 processor and a compatible wireless card and some software Intel in support of all.

Yes, it supports WIDI.  However, get hooked for the first time, was not easy for me.  I just got a 15z with an i7 and a touchscreen.  I had read reviews of computer magazines to indicate that he would support WIDI.  However, the WIDI software was not installed on the computer when I got it.  The computer has rejected attempts to installation of the files that I have downloaded both Intel and Dell support page.  Last night, I spent 2 + hours on the phone with a persistent technician who, after a session of extended software remote assistance has finally managed to install and works.

I was very happy with the computer.  It took a lot more time with the technical support I want, but they don't work WIDI.  To date, it is a new model of computer with a relatively new operating system.  I bet that in 2013 the months pass by, they improve the WIDI support out of the box or software updates.
