ThinkPad W510 display dies randomly and then machine shuts

the last two days, that my machine has suffered an accident with similar symptoms.

Firstly, the screen turns white. I can see some disk activity. It continues perhaps 20-30 seconds, and then the machine stops. Yesterday, I had to restart the machine twice b/c the first attempt has also led to a stop during the boot process.

I thought that maybe it was an overheating issue, but I'm not convinced of that because today nothing no hindrance exhaust evacuates (if they were a little dusty).

I'm runing 7 pro 64-bit windows. Have a NVidia card, but I don't know the details. Where can I find them?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think 60 c you would enter into the territory of thermal protection, but you can pull on the keyboard and give the machine a good PEAR dust blower. Be sure to hold the fixed fan blades using compressed air and the shot of the Interior through vents.

Edit: In addition, by pulling the keyboard bezel looks like it would give even better access to the fan / exhaust vent for a good dusting areas.

For reference, you can pick up your HMM here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-74250

There is step by step understood instructions.

Kind regards.

I just bought the computer and it runs Windows 7. What could be the problem? Oh I forgot to mention that, after that I start the computer the configuration screen appears saying that windows did not close normally and if I want to start in safe mode.

    Hello

Here are a few questions to better understand the issue:

1 made only while off log?

    2. what happens when you restart?

3 have you tried with different user accounts?

4 you did changes to the computer before the show?

Let us try the following and see if they help.

Method 1: Check the event viewer for more details on this subject.

Event Viewer is a tool that displays detailed information about important events on your computer.

Method 3: Perform the clean boot and check

It may be that a third-party application is causing this issue. Put the system at boot.

To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

I got my laptop for about a year and he began to spoil.

Anyone know what is wrong with it and how I can fix this problem?

    Thank you

Hehe... I would be a psychic if I want to know what's wrong with the laptop without checking it first ;)

I think that no one would be able to tell what's wrong exactly, but most of us can provide suggestions and could assume what s wrong

For me, this looks a bit like a RAM problem.

    • What were the changes made before the problem occurred?

I suggest you to see these steps:

Start your computer in safe mode
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If it works fine in safe mode, try to perform a clean boot in safe mode.

  • My screen is randomly display distorted graphics and then freeze it or restart itself?

The problem seems to occur randomly, sometimes, the computer may be for a few hours before that happens, sometimes within a few minutes. So far, it just happened so I was browsing the web using IE (although I could not test at length to make sure that it is the only time where what happens).

The screen will deform with horizontal blue lines and fixes other random colors. After a few minutes, the screen returns to normal, but the computer froze and is inadmissible. Twice so far (but), the system restarts and gives the screen "windows did not shut down correctly.

So far the problem did not appear in safe mode. The event viewer displays all errors happening at the time that the problem occurs. I suspect, it may be a problem with the graphics card, but have no idea how I would be able to test this without buying a new and replace it.

Anyone has ideas or offer any help?

    Thank you

Thank you for your help. I managed to remove the monitor, which leaves the cable or the graphics card. Might be time for the repair shop, I think! 9 s

  • My computer will not sleep, the display shuts off for a while but the fan still works and the keyboard lights stay on, and then eventually he dies just

Imen quite so much as the title, when I try to put my computer to sleep the screen turns off but the computer is still running. My computer is a HP pavilion dv6 is a little more than 3 years. He used to do whenever a while, but now it's every time I try to pause. I'll close the top cover, but the fan still works, the hp on the lid logo light remains lit, and if I reopen it cover the power light is always on and the lights on the keyboard caps lock and wireless keys. The same actions occur when I try to put it to sleep manually (from the start menu). It does not at all I have to do another that now hold power, but even when I do nothing, it will stay here like this for awhile and then just turn off completely.

When it starts up, it gives me the options to start in safe mode or start normally, and when I am connected and it gives me the "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown", I see that there is a minidump file in windows that has something to do with it. I tried to search for the file and the problem together, and then each separately, but nothing I've seen described really my problem, so I thought I should just ask on my problem.

I read what made other people, changing advanced power settings, changing the media settings, etc. and did those things, but to no avail. It's not a huge deal, because I can just turn off my computer whenever I'm done with it for now, but I don't know if it's a bad omen for the future of my poor computer. So if someone could give me a hand with this point in mind, I'd be very happy. Let me know if provide more details (OS, processor, my favorite color, social security number, etc.) that would make it easier to solve. Thank you
Also, either by the way, if this is in the wrong forum topic, please let me know.

  • Upload an image and then display

What I'm trying, it's that I'm sure very simple but I really don't know where to start.

Basically, we have an application where there is a displayed image that we update regularly. To save COMPUTING staff, have to do what we are hoping to push the option for users, they can make the changes, and then upload it.

Everything I need to be able to do is one where a user can take a picture of their machine, download it (which stores image data in a BLOB column on a table I guess) and then render this image in an element on a page.

As I said above, I don't really know where to start a simple explanation would be appreciated! :)

  • 26.0 Firefox on Mac will not display the site menu bar to make parts of the category. The menu appears briefly and then disappears.

After the update to version 26.0 (Mac) when you visit the Google Play website, the menu bar of the website that allows you to select the categories disappears. When the page loads, it will appear momentarily and the "speed" icon on the far right (for the setting of preferences). I have cleared the cache, etc, and it still does not work properly.

The site will work correctly with Safari and worked before this last update.

When you say that you have disabled the cache, etc, you also deleted your Google cookies?

If you have not yet tried, and in case this is based on some saved type of parameter based on cookies, after record all pending work, while displaying a page on the site, try either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • Menu Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".

In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from Google.com individually.

Then try to reload the page. Who help me?

On Windows 7, the page is served with this hidden category list, and then a script he slips into the display. It sounds as if this part works well for you, but then he loses visibility after that. You have all the extensions that seem to hide the content of the page, so I don't know what is happening there.

  • HP 2509 b monitor guard displaying "Input Signal Out of Range" and then go to sleep.

I went on vacation and shutdown my computer for 2 weeks.  My monitor worked great for a month before.  I came home last night and turned on my system this morning.  Now I get a white message in the middle of the screen with "input out of range Signal. Change the settings for 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz"and then the screen goes to sleep.  I can turn the monitor off, wait a moment and then turn it back on again, but continues to repeat the same thing.  I checked and the screen is already set to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz.  I use VGA and have the default positioned like this.  I followed the guide to troubleshooting online for this error, but it did not help.  Can someone tell me please how to fix this?

Finally, I got this figured out!  Here's what I did.

    Control Panel

    Display

    Parameters

    Advanced

    Intel(r) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver

    Graphics properties

    Display settings

    Expansion of the display

Chosen at this stage full screen (no border) instead of "maintain proportions"

As soon as I put this the error screen disappeared!  Can someone explain to me why this adjustment has been around?  I would like to know.

Thank you all for your help.

  • Can I download the last FF with W98, then on a CD and then install from the CD on a Windows7 machine?

Just bought a new machine Win7 and am waiting for connection to broadband. Installed a modem in the new machine, but the download speed is of about 1/4 of that of my old faithful W98SE machine.
