  • Any way to limit the clusters/servers/VMs being monitored?

I just brought it to the top of my operations with 50 licenses VM server. I want to follow my server infrastructure, but not my view infrastructure. My vCenter server has a cluster for my servers and cluster for my desktop PC. Since operations looking for everything, including my office computers, I used a lot of 50 licenses. Is there a way to tell not to montior operations some servers or clusters? I looked around and saw nothing, but I wanted to ask to be sure.

    Yes, you can do it.

the registration of VCOps to the VC, you may have noticed there are 2 sets of credentials - administrative and collector.

in your vcenter, create a new user (say "VCOps_collector") and gim him "no access" on the cluster, you don't want to monitor.

then use this user for the credentials of _collector_ in VCOps. in this way, it will not collect stats for the machines that you want to not monitored.

you will still be able to see them in VCOps well, just as there are no statistics for them

  • Version 5.0 will not offload the memory when I close. This translates not being able to open FF later unless I manually go and close the application in Windows Task Manager. Any ideas because it becomes very frustrating.

I have this problem on 3 computers just updated with FF 5.0. When I close FF, the application "Firefox.exe * 32" remains in memory. Trying to open FF later greets me with the error that FF can't open because another instance of FF is already running. Previous versions is completely discharged and has never caused this problem...

You can check your add on for compatibility, there may be conflicts.

For now, you can use the command "End task" in the Task Manager to close Firefox before opening another version.

  • This model is my monitor?

I just bought an old Dell monitor that has a serial number (CN - 0d 5434-72201 - 4 CL-4FJL) but no model number on it...  In appearance, it is identical to the E173FP except that the screen is smaller (about 14 "diagonal), so I was hoping the E173FP instructions would help me to solve the problem, I'll have with the color balance (everything has a yellow-greenish tint).

Unfortunately, it worked.  I can't get any help from Dell without telling them the model number - of the suggestions?

And no idea why the color is so gross?  The monitor is perfectly capable of producing simple primaries more white because he's here for that, when it is disconnected.

    Hi JEJeffrey,

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum.

The monitor you bought appears to be a Dell E153FPF 15 ".  Try a good video cable with the monitor or restore the factory settings screen display. Use the control buttons on the front of the monitor to adjust the characteristics of the displayed image. When you use these buttons to adjust the controls, one to the screen (OSD) shows their numeric values as they change. The 'MENU' button is used to open the on-screen display (OSD), select function icons, leave the menus and sub-menus, and to exit the OSD. With the menu off, press the "MENU" button to open the OSD system and display the main options.

For optimal display performance while using the Microsoft Windows operating systems, set the display resolution 1024 x 768 pixels by performing the following steps:

    1. Click the Start button, point to settingsand click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click the display icon in the Control Panel window, and then click the settingstab.
    3. In the Office , move the slider to 1024 by 768 pixels. And then click OK.
    4. Recommended frequency for best performance is 60 Hz.

  • How to start the agent on the database host computer that is being monitored

    Hi all
I installed OEM 11.2.1.0. I stopped getting alerts after the 1 server node is restarted. I followed RAC database.
When I checked the status of the host agent I get the following output
    [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba01 bin] $ pwd

State of the agent emctl [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba01 bin] $
ORACLE_UNQNAME environment variable not defined. Please install ORACLE_UNQNAME in unique name of database.
    [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba01 bin] $ export ORACLE_UNQNAME = MDM11
State of the agent emctl [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba01 bin] $
The MA Configuration problem. /U01/app/Oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/rs1pre91dvdba01_MDM11 not found.
    [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba01 bin] $

    And even on node 2
    [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba02 bin] $ pwd
    / u01/app/Oracle/agent11g/bin
    [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba02 bin] $ export ORACLE_UNQNAME = MDM12
State of the agent emctl [oracle@rs1pre91dvdba02 bin] $
The MA Configuration problem. /U01/app/Oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/rs1pre91dvdba02_MDM12 not found.

Please can I know how to start the agent on the nodes and also auto how the boot process of the agent on the server restart

    Thank you.

I assume that you have installed your agent in the directory

    / u01/app/Oracle/agent11g/bin

If this is correct then run the following commands

    Export ORACLE_HOME = / u01/app/oracle/agent11g /.
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH = / u01/app/oracle/agent11g/lib

    PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin:. : $PATH; export PATH

As a matter of fact, you need to set the environment variables separate for the agent to execute commands
which are related to the agent. These distinct environment must be set correctly to ensure that the
commands can be found in the appropriate directories...

Then, run the status command emctl agent...

Other issues of Windows Live family safety

What version of Windows Live Family Safety do you use?
    Version 2011 (15.4.3538.513)
    Choose your operating system version:
    Windows 7

    Additional details
I have just set up my son in multiple family safety program, or I thought I did and now it still says that it is not controlled when I connect is windows on his computer account.

    I had the same problem.
Turns out that with the same user name as the name of the computer does not work for the safety of the family.
I've renamed his user name (although not displayname), and it worked very well from there.
I guess that rename the computer would have the same effect.

  • HP Pavilion a6750f: problem dual monitor (Second monitor not detected in DVI input)

Hello everyone, I'm going to by a problem of not being able to setp toward the top of my second monitor.

I own a HP Pavilion a6750f with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 card on board running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system.  In the back, I have two VGA and DVI inputs, VGA works, but when I connect the other monitor which is connected to a DVI adapter on the back, Windows does not detect any.

I tried to go the DVI adapter to the other monitor and noticed that it refuses to work. I will note that my display drivers are all updated and I activated the option of customization to detect the second monitor, nothing shows up, it will not be the same acknolowdge that there are several screens.

I think it's weird that I don't see this problem being issued when I was searching for a resolution on google for hours now. If someone can help me here please I would be very happy.

Just to remind you try to connect a VGA (analog) monitor to a DVI - D (digital only) output on the computer. This is never going to work as analog and digital are two completely different incompatible signalling methods. With the help of an adapter DVI / VGA passive is the problem that these cards may work with DVI - I or DVI - A output... not DVI - D.

    Wikipedia - DVI;

"More digital, the DVI connector includes pins that carry an analog signal compatible with RGBHV signals in a VGA connector. This allows a VGA monitor be connected to a passive adapter and offers a universal solution for the DVI interface. The analog pins are the four that surround the apartment or cross the blade as shown on the right side of the diagrams below. »

    8 analog vertical sync

    C1 - analog Red
    C2 - analog Green
    C3 - blue analog
    C4 - analog horizontal sync
    C5 - analog ground

Note the absence of the pins on your computer and your so-called card C1, C2, C3 and C4. Without these pins is not just going to work. Still, there is no way to get an analog VGA monitor to work with your digital DVI - D only output using a so-called DVI - D to VGA. You may be able to buy an asset DVI - D to VGA Converter, but this will be expensive and cannot provide a poor video image quality.

As you said, the HP f1703 monitor supports only VGA. However, based on the specifications, your HP w2207h 22 inch LCD monitor supports the entry to a VGA and a HDMI input. HDMI and DVI - D share the same signage and using a HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable will solve your problem. For two monitors running on your computer, please connect as follows:

Computer > HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable > HP w2207h monitor

Computer > VGA cable > HP f1703 monitor

    Please send Bravo

  • HP27vc: Tech Support a severe disappointment - the HP monitor drivers

So, I bought this monitor at Staples last weekend.  I installed and also the HP Support Assistant.  When you're done, I then found that I was still operating under the generic "pnp monitor" driver Windows.

HP Support Assistant was no help at all - he could not recognize that I am using a HP monitor.

So I called HP Tech support today - as it turns out, it is offshore support.  After finally convincing that I indeed had a HP device that was under warranty, I was connected with another offshore technician, who proceeded to 'teach me' there is no HP DRIVERS - all use generic drivers.  At this point, I realized that I was being quite a lot of manure of cattle.  When I asked why HP Support Assistant did not see the monitor on my system, he said that it was not supposed to see the monitor, only the pc mainframe.  I told her that it was not very helpful and ended the call.

So I dug even more, and of course, I found HP27vc LCD Monitor driver, sp73128.exe.  I installed this and now my monitor is running with the HP driver and not the generic.

I checked HP Support Assistant once again, who wondered if the correct driver has been installed now, he can now see the monitor, but alas, he still does not see it.

Is it worth keeping this HP Support Assistant installed?  I mean, because he does not see the monitor, how can it be of any use to me?

    Any comments or thoughts appreciated

    ceetiger

    Hello:

I guess you can get all kinds of divergent opinions about the usefulness of the software HP Support Assistant (HPSA).

It is one of the first programs I uninstall when I have a PC HP.

You have found, you can check the support page for your HP product for new drivers (or drivers in general).

One of the things that scares me is that some people have the software HPSA runs automatically, and it will download and install software updates without knowing the user.

This can be particularly dangerous if it downloads and installs an update of the BIOS for the PC, and work on the PC during this process.  Not sure yet it is running, or casually reject all notifications that you are busy (I do this at the time), and if you close your PC for an update of the BIOS, you end up with a dead PC.

I read a few forum posts where that happened indeed a few people unhappy.

You can set the program to you not inform that, and then you choose when and which updates to install.

I just get rid of it... one more application running in background to slow down your PC.

Use the utilities to clean and optimize disk at least once a month to keep your PC works well.

  • Monitor goes blank after windows XP starts.

After my computer Windows XP starts, the screen turns white.  I can see typical splash screens and the windows icon, that my home screen.  But shortly after so that files are always load, the monitor is going gray.  It is still 'active' designated by the green light, but after a few minutes Hibernate mode.

I use a laptop docking station Targus USB Video to allow us to pass the mouse and keyboard between our PC and laptop.  In fact, we use 2-monitor cables with this, one where the monitor is wired directly on the PC and the other of the docking station to monitor.  According to the computer on which is being used, connect the right on the screen cable.  The monitor works fine with the phone.  I wouldn't believe the origin our problem since this only started happening in the last few days.

I also changed the cable to the PC monitor without change.

The PC had a virus or some type of software problem?

    Can anyone help?

You have posted to a group of win7?

Connect the monitor directly to the PC to test (without docking station or any what vid/switches) & maybe update the graphics drivers on the website of the manufacturer NOT winupdate
