  I tried to open G-Mail and a few other trusted sites and Got "this connection is untrusted" with error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer.

  There is no other button then "get me out of here".
  Date and time are also defined in law.
  I use Eset Smart Security 7 and Firefox on Windows 8 unique.

  I faced this problem right back in Firefox 2 days only. All other browsers (Chrome, iron, IE10) work as usual.

  If you use the feature of ESET that filter web traffic, this problem could be caused by ESET intercept your secure connections and presenting a false certificate. If you see ESET as the transmitter, you have a few options:

  (1) disable SSL filtering

  This would solve the problem instantly, but you would have less protection. Check the documentation of your product for specific details, or if you have ESET NOD32 ANTIVIRUS 7 look under:

  Advanced Setup (F5) > Web and email > Web access protection

  Here you can adjust if HTTPS is scanned. (At least, so according to this manual.)

  (2) try ESET automated to import certificate

  This will allow Firefox to accept the false certificate signed by the certificate of ESET.

  These steps are listed on the forum of ESET:

  • With all browsers and e-mail clients private, disable SSL analysis (Advanced setup (F5) > Web and email > Web access protection, I think under protocol filtering > SSL), OK change
  • Re-enable SSL scanning, OK change
  • Start Firefox and test

  (3) manually import the certificate ESET in Firefox

  This will allow Firefox to accept the false certificate signed by the certificate of ESET.

  According to the manual, you can export the certificate to ESET under:

  Advanced Setup (F5) > Web and email > access protection Web, perhaps in the section protocol filtering > SSL

  Since you are using Kaspersky, could test you with the disabled HTTPS connection filtering if Kaspersky is the culprit? This should be in the application Kaspersky itself, not in the Firefox Add-ons:

  Trouble with my Mac or Mozilla. I get the "this connection is untrusted" on 3/4 of the sites I visit during a session on the internet. I did so that I have to use SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 protocols of use checked.

  Hi, I've been reviewing several similar positions, but none of them is trying to solve my problem.
  Question: "this connection is untrusted" with "sec_error_unknown_issuer". But NO option of "I understand the risks".
  My firefox suddenly unable to access sites such as YAHOO Mail, Google Mail, Facebook, Linkedin, etc while firefox is able to access other websites on a regular basis. Other broswers (IE, Chrome) do not have this problem.

  Measures taken
  1. confirmation of Date and time is correct.
  2. 'certificate' shows that these sites are in the list
  3. cleared Cache and cookies.
  4. I am in the company network. So I must be either "proxy auto-detection" or "use the system proxy setting. If I change the 'no proxy', Firefox could not get in any Web site.
