Problem started after the replacement of the boot hard drive that wasn't. New drive has been a ghost of the old boot copy and active. Having the disk key and product to install but the CD won't deal with any problems indicating that the version of the program is different, probably because of upgrades SP. The program disk is that Windows XP Professional Service pack 2 Version 2002, Ref. 0304 x 10-52217 and has passed many tests for over the years of downloads genuine microsoft software. After reading through all the same problems here, I found a post that mentions a WD drive disc that I put in after the failure of my Toshiba HD.   I followed the link that took me to a page of HP but I installed the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver (IRRT) via the provided download link and hop, from this moment, things seem to be fixed.

  • Windows will not start after replacing the motherboard

To begin, I must say that I am pretty clueless when it comes to computer skills.

To summarize, I sent my CPU to a repair shop when my computer has stopped working. I removed my hard drive before starting the repairs because it contains confidential data.  They have narrowed the cause to a faulty motherboard and replaced by a new dissimilar.
At the store, the guy had a vista 64 bit recovery disc so I have it home and tried to fix it. He said it will be a breeze and relatively bug free. As part of the Startup Repair, I tried to drive the Startup Repair, and tests were all successful except one. An error of diagnosis readings
"Unspecified system configuration changes may have caused the problem.
Repair action: repair and checking the integrity of system files
    Result: failed. Error code 0 x 490
    time taken = 720023 ms
Everything I've done has led to a brief blue screen to the Windows loading screen and then it restarts itself.
I also tried to restore to the previous two points, but it has also led to the square - a brief blue screen after the loading screen and restarts on its own windows. I'm not ready to reinstall vista and I can't afford to do it too, because I don't have enough disk space to perform another installation. Nor am I willing to reformat one of my two disks.
If you need additional information on the specifications of the material that must be provided, ask me.
IM at my end intelligence now, and I really hope to solve this problem.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you have to completely reinstall the operating system after replacing the motherboard with a different motherboard.

"Startup Repair" is exactly that: a start NOT a repair system repairs

What has happened, it is the operating system on your hard disk contains the drivers for the old motherboard and does not and you can't change drivers in doing what you do.

The only way to solve this problem is to reinstall Vista.

You wipe the hard drive and restart and make sure that the repair shop gave you the disc to install the new drivers of motherboard after you reinstall vista or download on the website of the manufacturer of the motherboard.

And here a question for you to consider, too.

If you bought a copy of Vista retail yourself, you can use the method above to a new installation and then install the new disk motherboard drivers.

But, if your computer is a trademark of purchased manufacturer, HP, Toshiba, etc., you can not change the motherboard that the license of Vista OEM is stuck at motherboard the origin of the manufacturer that it has been installed on and now you canceled your Vista license.

    See you soon.

  • Windows 7 Build 7601 not genuine after replacing the motherboard?

I recently replaced a motherboard failed in our computer and now I get a "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of windows is not genuine" message.  Help, please.  Thank you.  Ed

You have used the product key OEM SLP from the factory (which won't work) and not the key of the COA is located on the sticker on the PC.

You must change the key of 25 characters than on the sticker (side cover of a desktop computer, lower compartment or inside a laptop).

    Try the following:

Open a prompt (run as administrator) and enter:

slmgr - ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, then press 'Enter' (where XXXX is your key)

then enter: slmgr - ato and press ENTER.

Wait a few seconds, then exit command prompt. Now to see if your real, reboot if necessary and, even if it's not true they activate by phone.

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
    (2) press the ENTER"" key.
    (3) to select your "country" you are in the drop-down list.
    (4) choose the option "activate phone".
    (5) stay on the phone * do not select/press any option * and wait for a person to help you.
    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
    (7) the person must give you a confirmation ID, copy it down on paper,
    (8) check that the ID is correct in reading the support person.
    (9) to enter the ID number, then click 'Next' to complete the activation process.

  • After replacing a hard drive

I just replaced a hard drive on my pavilllion p6210f.  I need to know what to do next.  All I have is a 7 (64-bit) windows repair disc I made when I got the computer.  It did not come with any CD. What should I do next?

You did just the repair disk or the recovery partion disk? The recovery partion disk should have 3 or 4 discs. Is where the installation discs are now, they are made from the recovery partition, saving money to have the discs are provided with all computers.  If this isn't the case, the only thing to do is go to drivers and support for your model page and hope they have the factory drives listed. You pay shipping.

  • Message "Non-genuine Windows" & Windows Update does not work after replacing the RAM.

    Hello

I have a PC desktop HPE-170 a current running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, which has been installed on the machine by the store where I bought it. It has been properly activated and has worked very well for 18 months or more.

The other day it decided to not start and a computer savvy friend corrected the problem by removing the RAM memory cards, clean the gold plated connectors and re - insert the. This fixes the problem and it started again.

Today I received a message on the computer of Microsoft saying "your copy of Windows is not genuine" and he invited me to "solve online. Well, click on the 'My Computer' icon showed me that windows was still active.

By clicking on the "solve Online" link took me to a validation page, where after she tried to validation, it says "The Validation failed" and advised me to buy another copy of Windows 7 HP for AUD $149. Gee, thanks, but no thanks Microsoft. I clicked on cancel and the non-genuine message has not yet reappeared.

I also found now that Windows Update doesn't work that way.

I rang MS that says that I need the Windows 7 Setup disk. When I said that I don't have one, they advised me to ring HP. I didn't have time to complete the phone call from HP, but I believe that HP wants me to reset the system to factory with them State guide me by phone.

I have a genuine copy of Windows, a product key, and it shows as activated.  From what I understand the system think that I tried to put my copy of Windows 7 on a new computer or similar? I'm not sure.

Is it really difficult to get the system works just like before?

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm afraid I don't understand your instructions. I think that you are a fair way waiting for me in the issues of tech savvy.

I think I have stumbled upon something here; http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02219204

Download and update this driver seemed to do Windows Update includes itself.

I can now go here; realwww.microsoft.com/ /validate/ and he says: "Welcome to Windows".

I hope I now get no more fake messages on my OS Windows is non-genuine.

    I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Last update 18/7: seems to be fixed, no more problems.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/piracy/MPA.aspx

Try this instead and explain your situation to a live person.

1 / click on the Start button.

2 / in the Search box type: slui.exe 4 and press enter.

3 / in the find window available for activation phone number, select the nearest location where you lie in the location box. You can click the arrow to the right of the location box to expand your choice of venues.

4 / once you have selected your location, click Next.

5 / If the user account control box, click continue or, if you are not the administrator, type in the username and password for permission to continue.

6 / the window Activate Windows now will appear indicating the phone number you are dealing with a series of installation identification numbers.

7 / now compose the activation number is displayed on the screen. The phone number is free of charge (telephone), unless otherwise stated.

8 / you understand that, initially, the line of Activation is Automatic, so you will be asked to enter the numbers displayed on your screen using your telephone keypad.

9 / once the numbers entered via the keypad of your phone, the automated service will issue you with another set of numbers that you Type in the dialog box that is displayed on your computer screen.

10 / now you must follow the instructions issued by the automated service to activate your copy.

11 / if, after going through this process, the activation service informs you that the product cannot be activated and then DO NOT slam the phone down in rage. Rather STAY ON THE LINE and your call will be transferred to an Activation of the device, in other words, someone real who will help you to activate your copy of Windows Vista.

12 / I am aware that these steps can be a pain, but nine times out of ten, Activation is automatic and can be accomplished quite easily on the internet. This is the reason why the service is automated. It is true that sometimes the automatism cannot stop, and when this happens, you are put through to someone who can help you.

  • Windows 7 reports not true after install a hard drive more in PC

I have a valid and legal copy of win7 ultimate that I bought new in box. I installed and activated on my PC, I want to install a hard drive more in my PC. I put in the new drive and proceed with the installation of my win7 ultimate all goes well until I try to activate windows and told me my copy is not valid. WTF? am I expected to buy windows again just because I want a bigger hard drive?

  • Satellite Pro 6100 Wireless does not work after restoring from HARD drive

After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.

Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.

I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure

    (1) if they are correct
    (2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.

    Any advice?

    Hello

I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.

    (1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try

    (2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.

But this is only possible if the windows started successfully

PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.

  • I have to buy Windows after replacing my hard drive?

I learned that my portable (HP DV-6) needs a new hard drive. Looking at the steps, I'm ready to do it myself, but I was also told that I have to buy another copy of windows?

Is this true or can I use the key that came with my original disk?

Your laptop has a software to do a defined recovery disk. They can be used to boot from after installing a new hard drive and reinstall Windows and all software/drivers.

Recovery media creation > Windows 7

  • Vista will not start after replacing the motherboard

The motherboard in my Dell Vostro 220 died for the 2nd time, and this time it's out of warranty. Not wanting

another cheap/defective board from Dell, I bought a compatible Intel replacement from Newegg. After I put

the replacement board in, Vista won't boot. Dell didn't provide an actual Vista cd/dvd, but rather their generic

repair/driver cd, so I can't just reinstall Vista (32bit). I understand that Vista may have problems with the new

motherboard, but didn't realize it wouldn't give me better opportunity to load new drivers from cd that came

with the motherboard. Am I just screwed and going to have to buy a new Windows cd/licence? The log below is

    what Windows is reporting:

    Problem Signatures1 Auto Failover2 6.0.6001.18000.6.0.6001.180003 64 1966115 Bad Driver6 Bad Driver7 08 19 System Restore10 0

    OS Version 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1

OK, thanks to a thread on DANIWEB here is the solution to my problem - Hiren BootCD (v15.1). MiniXP to start and run difficult HDD controller app. This allowed Vista to boot far enough to get the cd accompanying the motherboard. Later, life is good, Vista hasn't even complained on the new motherboard and licenses.

  • Re: L505 does not work after replacing the screen

I had to replace the display screen on my Satellite L505 due to the 'accident '. After finding how to get instructions on the line, I was able to do the job, seemed ok, but it having moved up the screen on, but nothing else. When replacing at any time I felt an electric shock, so I do not think that the fried motherboard. He would have anyway? If this isn't the case, motherboard, would this inverter replacement needs. The accident was due to a piece of hardware that was sitting on the keyboard when my dog (the awkward beast) sat down on my satellite (I used it in his bed), the screen cracking. Help would be appreciated knowing what it could be.
    Thank you
