This copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can continue

Hi guys

After P2V Windows 2003 Storage Server 2003 x 64

I get this message "this copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can continue."

and I am not able to connect to the server and I can not activate because the NETWORK card won't work - since without vmware tools.

no idea why this is happening?

VMware converter 5

Thank you very much

This can happen due to the material Exchange when you P2V. Is there not an option to activate by phone? If this is not the case, take a look at the virtual machine settings to see if the NETWORK card is 'E1000' which should be recognized by Windows 2003 out of the box.

  • This copy of Windows must be activated before you open a session and I clicked Yes, but nothing happens.

End of August 2011 I prepare a trial version of Windows XP Professional x 64 edition that should be expired after 180 days on a new computer, IE. by mid-February 2012. However, already during this week of the first of January, I received several times a popup: ACTIVATION of PRODUCT WINDOWS, announcing that the trial period has expired and that in 1 hour Windows will disconnect and I should install a copy authentic. So I by installation of R, but after installing COPY WITH GENUINE LICENSE has a new a pop up appears saying: "this copy of Windows must be activated before can connect you. You want to activate Windows now? I clicked YES, and nothing happens. Without log on the system installs several times more than 120 updates but still no access to the Windows Activation to complete activation and Windows Update again.

This was where a frustrating experience because on another new computer I had installed very easily Windows XP x 64 edition without any problem using another copy authentic.

Someone at - there a solution to this problem?

  • "This copy of Windows must be enabled before you can login."

We have a laptop with Windows XP we have used for a while without problems.  All of a sudden, we get a box to activate product windows that we never had before, demanding that "this copy of Windows must be activated before you can connect."  No new software has been installed recently, so this seems very strange.  Is this a virus or is it true?

These steps will work as long as the PC has only one user profile, and to Internet Explorer 8 is installed.

    In my case, I:
    (1) the steps already listed here, with an adaptation: safe mode: command prompt
"Start in"Safe Mode".  To do this, turn on the laptop, and then press F8, as it is booting up.  Passes in 'Safe' Mode by selecting the option 'Safe Mode'. * Safe Mode command prompt *.
Once you're on the office in 'Safe Mode', click 'Start' then click on 'run '.
At the command prompt run type the following EXACTLY

    Rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk

    (2) restart the PC and start back in Safe Mode command prompt.
    (3) on a separate computer, download IE8 for WinXP and put it on a USB key. I renamed the file IE8install to make it easier later.
    (4) plug the USB on the problematic PC
    (5) in the command prompt installing IE8. Your USB drive letter may be different. If e: does not work, try f: etc until you find the right one.
    type e: * enter *.
    ie8install.exe * enter *.
    (6) complete the installation, restart the PC, and you should be good to go.

  • My old PC of eight year THAT XP came with the message that says that my copy of Windows must be activated.

My system is 8 years old XP. I installed all the updates that are offered by Microsoft. No new material has been added since more than a year. I now get a message telling me that my copy of Windows must be activated. This happens in normal Mode and safe mode with networking. Is this a ransom trojan or MS did wobbly in the updates as Genuine MS debacle (DIS) advantages of the other? The Messages I have 3 days where activation!

Your tips for solving this would be appreciated.

    Dear Noel

Thanks a lot for your information and advice.

Ironically, I did not clean ups for fear of screwing it up.  However, I just bought a helmet camera and plugged into the USB to test its audio and video capabilities.  Perhaps that may be the problem.  Next time I'll just use the SD card reader.

I right click on the Hydroforme icon which has been remember to activate.  Who took me through various routines that finally pointed out that the version of Windows I have is no longer for sale.  He then offered to sell me a current equivalent of Windows 7.  Unwilling to part with the money right away, I did a reboot and followed by the option activate who came.  It's very simple and work very well without fees.

So, I'm now a "happy bunny".  Thanks a lot for your quick help.  Very much appreciated.

  • My computer won't let me connect to one of my accounts. The screen remains blue or said: "this product must be activated with microsoft" why is this?

My computer crashed on me and when I tried to reboot, the computer would not let me connect to my own account, nor my accounts of family members. I tried to use the System Restore tool, but the computer says that the menu command / I'm trying to use does not exist. I don't have the CD or the floppy to boot. When I try to log in to my administrator account on the computer says, "this product must be activated with Microsoft."  Can anyone help?

    Hello

If you are unable to connect to any user account then, how did you try the System Restore tool?

We will try these steps and check.
Step 1: Use know last good Configuration option and check.

Step 2: Check to see if the problem persists in safe mode. If the problem persists not in safe mode and then try to perform the clean boot.

I recently bought this laptop from a friend and she has never had this problem and ive trawled through microsofts suggestions, which most need of the start bar, which I did not immediately because of the blackscreen, and start on the keyboard key is not appear. I'm not sure what to do now that I know it's a genuine copy of windows vista. I do not have the installation at hand disc, and I think that my friend had already installed when she got the computer vista laptop.

Currently, your copy of windows vista is not activated. If you have the product key with you, you can activate your copy of windows.

You can find your product key on your computer or inside the Windows package installer disk-based.

Type SLUI in the search box and press ENTER key

Follow the directions on screen to activate windows

You can activate online or by phone. You need an Internet connection to activate online. Activation by phone requires interacting with an automated phone system.
