I need a repair of xp, or all that it can be called and information how to fix this problem is driving nuts me to have a laptop that is faulty... Please help me.

    This problem happens almost daily.

You can search the forums for discussions with similar problems (or the same problem) and peruse the threads where the result is a happy ending and examine everything first using these methods.  This will reduce the time to resolution and frustration.

    Something like this example:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/XPRepair/thread/83d5c57f-9836-4f3a-bec8-04c7d81861d3/

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (this includes pulling and buttons power)

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.

Start by checking the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • Cannot start Windows 7 after the conversion of the physical machine

    Hello

I converted my windows 7 64 bit running physical machine to the virtual machine using converter 5.0. I am running VMWare Workstation 8.0. My physical machine hid the 100 MB boot partition and 90 GB main partition. During the conversion, I don't have an option to select a hidden partition, nor did I want in my virtual machine. Conversion failed with the following message (planned):

Unable to find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible.

Then, I started the virtual machine using the Windows DVD and selected the option "repair". Once I arrived, I used diskpart to make my active primary partition and then followed the steps in this KB http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1037507 to fix everything including BCD. Once this was done, I used converted to reconfigure the virtual computer, and this time he succeeded. Everything was good and as expected up to that point. Now, when I start the VM, I get by BIOS init and then I get a black screen - no messages at all and he vm it is here without doing anything. I tried to fix it again and everything seems good (checked all the information using diskpart, bootrec and bcdedit so that automated repair) - everything seems to be in order, but the black screen is all I see when I try to start.

Any help to guide me to this point is very popular figure.

    Thank you

    Hello

I suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the computer to change the BIOS settings and check if it is has updated the BIOS.

Important: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Let us know the results. We will be happy to help you further.

  • Get a Code 10 error "this device cannot start' for my optical drive

    Hello

I am running a Dell Studio 540 with the following specifications:

    Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz

    RAM: 4 GB

HD: 750 GB 7200 RPM SATA

    Graphics card: nVidia 9800GT 512MB

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

All the drivers and BIOS are up-to-date.

My current optical drive is an Optiarc DVD +-RW AD-7200 s ATA Device Unit which has now disappeared from "My Computer". By opening the Device Manager, it has a small yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside. When I click on it that a new window will open and in the device status area, he said:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Currently, I have tried two methods without success. First, I downloaded the latest drivers/firmware for the optical drive directly from the Dell Web site, but to try to install, I get an error box saying that the "target drive is not properly".

I also ran the Mats_Run.devices of the Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting services who correctly identified the problem, but said he could not address them and directed me to these forums.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

The Code 10 error code is generated when the Device Manager has not enough information or error that spread upwards by device drivers is not recognized by Device Manager. In addition, this error may occur if one of the pilots who needs the unit does not start. If multiple drivers are used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine which failed.

As you have already tried updating the drivers for the device, you can just go through the article that talks about the Code 10 error.

  • The Philips SPA5210 bar: this device cannot start. (Code 10)

    Hi all

I have a brand new Philips Soundbar which does not work.  Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and try to use the audio driver generic usb (which is what suggests Philips).  I get the dreaded "this device cannot start. (Code 10) "error.

This unit works very well on my Linux box, so I know that its hardware functional.  If anyone can help with this?

    Thank you very much

    Brian

    Hi Brian Matheson,.

It is possible that the Soundbar is perhaps not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit operating system.

Check out the link here and open the user manual where it does not list Windows 7 in system requirements.

If it works, try the step below and check out them.

    1. click on Control Panel.

    2. double-click on the sounds and Audio devices icon.

    3. in sounds and Audio devices

1 properties, select the Audio tab.

    2. under sound playback, select Philips SPA5210.

If the previous step fails, then try to connect to it on the other USB port and check.

If you have Windows 7 32 bit on another PC, check if the Soundbar works.

    I hope this helps!

  • After a custom Windows 7 installed on a Toshiba Satellite P105-S6084, my audio device does not start. Error code: this device cannot start. (Code 10)

I got driver Conexant speakers on my laptop. I tried to find a device driver updates, but have had no luck. After being in Control Panel, hardware and audio, Device Manager, sound, video and game controllers, under that is high definition Audio Device with a yellow triangle and!.

After a right click and update driver, it says that the driver is up-to-date. In addition, the error code says this device cannot start (Code 10)

In addition, this seems to be a driver of Microsoft when the original driver was Toshiba/Conexant. I looked on the support Web site of Toshiba for a driver updated for my laptop and Windows 7.

    Any suggestions?

    Umesh P,.

Thank you for answering my question. I don't know that this forum allows you to stay busy. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

To sum up, I checked the Windows Audio and Windows Audio EndPoint Builder according to your instructions. Both were running as usual and start automatically, so it wasn't the issue.

I then visited Fix It. On the web page, since I am under Windows 7, the instructions on the provided web page to access the control panel and through system and security, to try to resolve the problem to fix common computer problems.

This process led me through the same re-setup of the device through Windows 7 driver that failed previously. Also because it has detected Windows 7, the web page would allow me to run the Fix It program.

When I visited the Support from Toshiba web page you provided, I was unable to find a sound driver for Windows 7. After filtering through my computer on their web page, the nearest driver was for Vista.

Take a chance, I downloaded it anyway. What has been the worst that could happen? It does not work? Well, I was there already. In any case, the installation worked and I now the audio again.

Moreover, this is the link for the driver, for anything that might be in a similar situation I've been:

    driver_audio_conexant_25636A.exe

    -or-

    http://cdgenp01.CSD.Toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/driver_audio_conexant_25636A.exe

Also, Conexant offers no direct audio driver support and ask you to check with the manufacturer, which in my case is Toshiba. Toshiba not currently has an audio driver Windows 7 for my particular Satellite phone. Since this is an older, they can't come out with an updated driver.

But, since the audio driver Vista download works, it is now a non-issue.

    Thank you!

    Jay

  • We get an error "this device cannot start" Code 10 on Windows 7.

Original title: USB not recognized verified work storage device

I have a 8 GB USB Flash drive that has, until recently, worked perfectly on several OSes including Windows 7 and 8. Recently, the player does not seem to want to work on one of my installations of Windows 7 on a PC (HP EliteBook 8470p).

I tried to reinstall the drivers for it on my machine specific windows 7 that does not work on. Device Manager gives me "this device cannot start. (Code 10) "even after reinstalling the drivers and reboot several times. I use also some virtual machines in Windows 7 and 8 on the same PC, and when connecting virtually the USB key to the virtual machine to Windows 7, I can't detect it. When you connect the device to the virtual machine from Windows 8, I can access the files and even format, so the USB ports on my computer are all functional.

To summarize, the device works in Windows 7 and 8 separate facilities of this computer, but does not work on 7 on my TI, if the main or virtualized operating system. The VM of Windows 8 on this computer can recognize the device.

Thanks for the answer, except that I discovered the problem. I checked upward in the disk management window, and I saw that the reader, for some reason, was not assigned a letter. After you manually assign the drive letter, all data on the disc is now available. Thanks anyway.

I have an external hard drive, Iomega Prestige 1 TB and one of the people at the school he fell from the top of the computer tower that resembled a fall of 30 cm, after it still worked, but then a few minutes later there not later he was still able to connect but it kept asking me to format it , so I wanted to try and find a way to get my data without formatting it. A day later I plugged the external hard drive, it started to beep for 5 min then it connected to the computer but unfortunately didn't show up in my computer, but he did it in the printer and peripheral.
