Threat detected in Google Chrome?

I already know the pop-up message is a total scam, but I was redirected to "shutmac.info" what force feeds me a warning to call a toll-free number. It won't let me leave the page. I tried closing and reopening the browser, hoping to close the malicious tab in time. Don't go to this site. In any case, unlike Safari I don't see a way to clean my story outside of the Chrome browser. Is there a way around this problem without restarting? I have many, many favorites unsynchronized.

Edit: I backed up my iPad and then restored from this backup. I don't know why this has helped, but it allowed me to close the tab before starting the popup appeared. I would like to know if there is an easier way to go about it.

Unfortunately with the Google App, you can only erase history within the app itself and if the popup does not, it is not that you can do about it. You can remove the App and reinstall it, easier than a restoration, but at the expense of the start.

An alternative, however, is forcing Google close completely from the multitasking window by double clicking the Home button and slide up the Google preview pane until it disappears from the display. You may need to search the component covering scribbles to the left. This will close the application but if pop gave rise to a cookie on your story, it will always be there...  Perhaps you could then delete the history. Worth a try next time, perhaps.

If you see any suspicious pop ups, unwanted toolbars, redirects, strange resultsor other unexpected behavior on your computer, you may have been deceived by installing malicious software (also known as 'malware') on your computer.  This behavior is known as the browser hijacking.

To correct your hijacked browser I suggest to follow the steps outlined in the article below and check if it helps to solve the problem:

  • Firefox will supports Windows XP after it's retired. Because Google Chrome says apparently it will be. I am happy using Firefox and curious. Thank you!

Wanted to know if Firefox supports Windows XP after it's retired.
Read on the internet that apparently Google Chrome will support it.
I don't like Google Chrome and will continue with Firefox but hoped they will support Windows XP.
If this is not the case, what kind of problems would I have?
I was told that I have a good virus program would be nice.
I have Avast which has worked well for me.
I do not have a personal thing on my computer to worry if someone would try to hack.
Only thing I really do a lot of is to go on my writing groups in Yahoo. But it would be nice to not worry about Malware, threats etc like that and having to run my scans every day.
I'm not at a point where I can buy a new computer, or to afford to go to Windows 7, which is always being updated.
Heard of that Windows 8 is a nightmare and, apparently, a new version that the user is more than friendly Windows 9 didn't will be out til later this year or early next year.
    Thank you!

  • Dear all, I can not play the flash videos from any website through firefox because it freezes, but when I run firefox as administrator, then it works fine (but Google Chrome plays all the videos normally.). I use Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Help, pleas

    Dear all,
Firefox crashes when I try to play flash videos from any website, but when I run firefox as administrator, it works very well. (but Google Chrome, Opera & I.E9 video parts without administrator.) I use Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Help, please.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

I have a process that continues replication and creating folders... slow down my computer greatly. 'Demand' is Tlbdkhr.exe, which is supposed to run Google Chrome. The problem is that I have never installed Google Chrome. This just started today. I was able to locate the files and possibly stop the process and the process of replication by changing the name of the application. I deleted all the files and did a reboot.  Everything looked good, and then he started again.

Don't know how to remove this problem.

In the meantime, please try to run a scan with Norton Power Eraser mode tool safe to make sure that your computer is free from threats:

  • HP 15 laptop: cannot download Google Chrome on Windows 8.1 / new laptop HP

Hi, I just bought this new laptop HP TODAY ' TODAY - and tried to download Google Chrome and set Google as my homepage because I work with Google products for the last 5 years and this is my preference.

However, as a first step, I get a message saying that I can't download Chrome, even though I checked the download is for Windows 8.1, then it has also triggered a virus infection and caused the security software do a scan of threat - three times!  Trying to just set Google as my home page, when I click on the button 'create' real, the screen freezes simply.

It's almost as if Yahoo / HP does not allow me to choose my browser and search engine... anyone know how to fix this?   I've never had this happen before.

    Thank you!!!

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

In this particular case, HP and Yahoo keep the computer to become the Chrome browser. Especially when you mentioned that triggered security a software alarm, this means that most likely you tried to download a fake copy of the Chrome browser and thanks be to God, the security software has prevented to install. It is quite common nowadays because it's popular software and impersonations exist. They sometimes appear on the top of the search result in the search engines, and they do not lead to the site from another server but the official seller.  In addition, if this is not the case, your computer may also have already been infected by certain pests that redirect your traffic to fake Chrome.

There is only one official place to download this product - official site of Google/sub-sub-site

Click here-online https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html and choose the blue download Chrome button in the middle of the page

Follow the instructions on the screen.

    A few additional instructions to Google-> https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95346?hl=en

Here are some other instructions how to set up the home page in Internet Explorer

    http://blog.LapTopMag.com/set-blank-browser-home-page

To Google, instead of the blank page, you enter www.google.com as the address of the page

    Hope this helps

  • Google Chrome, Macbook covers and heat

    Hi all

I am the new owner of a Macbook Pro 13 "retina early 2015 model with 8 GB of RAM.

I need to really take care of this laptop that I'll probably not be able to replace it soon (I have two little babies to feed!), but I demand a lot of it (I am a school administrator working on my doctorate degree).

    My questions:

    • Google Chrome is really the resource hog I've read on reviews of browser? I heard that Safari is much less demanding on Macs, but it does everything just for me, especially because we use a lot of Google Apps for education at the school that I work at and where I study. I tried to go on Safari to work for this reason, but it's just impossible/impractical
    • I bought a Briefcase for laptop computer for extra protection, but a colleague told me that they have actually cause more harm than good. He seemed to have a personal vendetta against them, so I would like to get your thoughts. His main complaint is that they have cause overheating, but my case does not have one of the vents and extra mouths on the bottom

Note, I don't play all the games on this machine; I use it strictly for communication and research. I use mostly Google Docs/sheets/slides for my office work and school.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

I use a plastic cover on my MBP to 2015 and have never had an overheating problem.  As you say, it's what the vents for and coverage provides protection against shocks of everyday.

I redirected to different Web sites or see pop-ups on Google Chrome. Some pages are sponsored (casinos, etc.) and some are very suspicious that I won't fully charge and open.

I tried to find a malware from my mac, but can't find.

I have zero parameters of the Google Chrome browser, but which is not helping either.

I'm out of options! Can I get help and advice please?

This only happens in Safari or Chrome?

If this happens only in Chrome, then check your Chrome Extensions. That's all we offer here. I would be reaching out to Google if this issue is only related to the Chrome.
