Three beeps, then a regular boot

Hello Apple community

As recently I know since my MacBook Pro 2012, 13 "has started to behave a bit strange. Under regular use, it froze suddenly and go beep-beeps three times in a row, the after 5 minutes or so I could start regularly again. After that, it happened more often and after a week, I took both RAM blocks and reinserted them again. It worked for a month, but now it's my Mac starts once more. He clearly has something to do with the RAM, however since it starts sometimes while they are not completely lacking, or what. Does anyone have a solution to this problem of mine?

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hey guys, this imac has el capitan, I am trying to reinstall snow leopard but I get 3 beeps. This research, I came across info suggesting either bad ram or I'm going to need at least a 10.6.7 to a flash drive as suggested in this thread here: three beeps when trying to install snow leopard

I have the original disc from apple with 10.6.3. Possible to use this disc or my only option would be to try to get an OS x 10.6.7 on a USB? If so, I just found the 10.6.7 here: *.

I have it on my windows desktop. I guess my next step should be to install on a bootable flash drive. So yes, I have a 16 gb flash drive that I use for windows, do I need to reformat for mac first and then copy the dmg file downloaded to it?

You're right, three beeps point to a problem with the RAM. The first thing to do is to remove and reinstall ensure that it is firmly in place. If not, then replace the RAM, if you bought it from Crucial or OWC then the RAM has a lifetime warranty.

  • HP 4480 printer prints only first three lines, then stops

    Dear community,

    problems with my printer recently.

Page begins printing, 3-5-7 lines, then stops, the printer says busy and the work never ends.

Initially, there was a mistake with compatible OHCI 1394 host controller. I have upated the driver to that with the extension of the LEGACY software. He printed for a day and returned the nastiest non-printing again.

Sometimes, the printer selects the fax mode and when I go into the properties to correct for PRINTER, it still doesn't work in the unual 3-5 lines of the page.

I hate to throw my machine to landfill, be eco-friendly.

Can someone tell me WHAT IS the reason for my problem?

    Hi @multitasking,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that your HP 4480 printer prints only the first three lines, then stops. I'm happy to help you with this printing problem!

To get help, I'll need to know:

    1. The number of product/model of your printer. Follow the instructions in this link. Find your model number of the HP product.
    2. If you use Windows or operating system Mac and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
    3. If the printer is connected, wireless, or USB.
    4. If the printer is able to make copies.
    5. If the power cable is connected to a surge protector, or directly to a wall outlet. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

While you can certainly add another HARD drive in the Bay of secondary drive (you must also support and the connection cable) you can't boot from it - only in the Bay of primary HARD drive is bootable.

  • beeps then was my pirate computer?

I just got the Inspiron 3847 a few days ago.  There Win10 Home version on it.  I use the Win10 firewall.

I put my computer to sleep last night and pulled the seizure of power by the modem.  At 09:00 this morning, the computer was still asleep.  Then I heard the sound of the beep, maybe 5.  Then he stopped a beep.  I started to use the computer at 10:16.  I shoot to the top of the event viewer to see why it beeps.  He has shown a log on at 08:59.  Nobody else is there.  The power cord is still out there, when I plugged it in.  The monitor screen is never, until I woke up the computer.  I do not have a wi - fi router.  I will not sync a smart phone.  I had to connect to my account, when he awoke.  I don't know what to think of this.

I noticed since I got this computer, it takes a long time to connect to my network.  I have to unplug the cable ethernet and power cord, so that it can establish a connection.  He appears on board and says something about a connection problem.  Then he resolved, after I leave it there.  On my computer of Win8 it always says that I was on a private network.  But this computer shows that it is on a public network.  It is connected via the cable only modem.  Here, any help would be great.

    Hello

If you had shot physically the power cable from the modem to your system would not have internet connection so it is quite doubtful that you have been hacked.  The tone could be a Windows task, which was scheduled for work at 09:00 (maybe a software or updates scan?)

If you pull your power cord to the modem without disabling first / transform you the connection network may be responsible for some conflicts in your system network profiles, which could cause delay in this connection system to the modem / internet.   Windows 10 has a firewall that blocks most of the traffic internet access to your system if physically turn off the modem may not be the best way to prevent access.  Simply unplug the cable network would accomplish the same thing without forcing the modem to restart continuously every time you turn it on. (depending on your ISP may take a few minutes for this modem authenticate and receive internet access)

With regard to the profile of your network, here are some links on how to set up your private in Windows 10 public network.

How to set a network Public or private in Windows 10 location

I hope this helps.   If you are worried about someone access to your system, it should have with some security software and you can try having to analyze the system.   It can't hurt.   And learn more about the Windows Firewall more whatever security of your software firewall has.

  • Wireless Internet w/QuickStart, but not with the regular boot of Win7

I have a Pavilion dv4-4141us.  With QuickStart/QuickWeb, the laptop has no trouble to connect to my wireless network and Internet usage.  But, when I do a normal in Win7 start, although the lapop connects to wireless normally, it does not provide a connection to the Internet.  If I connect to the router via Ethernet, then cable and wireless connections are good.

I compared the security type, MAC address, IP address, etc. and can't find no difference between the regular starting values and a quick start.  Troubleshooting Win7 app isn't any help. He recommends that I reboot the router - I did many times without any effect on the problem at all.

I use the same network wireless with an iPad without any problem, and I have no problem using the Ethernet connection to share files and printers between the laptop, an other PC Win7 and Ubuntu Linux a PC.

Bottom line: my HP laptop does everything well except wireless Internet (except in quick start mode).

  • Fast beep then starts when you start XPS 8700

so I just got a dell xps 8700 and immediately improved, the 650 Watt PSU and GPU to a gtx 980, when I start the machine he has has a very quick chirp and then starts as usual. given that I don't normally it starts the minute I got it that I don't know if this is normal or not, I think that I probably wouldn't put in updates before you start it at least once. Can anyone confirm if this is normal? or does that mean? I don't think that it s the code beeps it starts very well after the beep.

What version of BIOS is installed on this system?

Not sure if this is your problem but some previous versions of BIOS makes a quick beep at startup which was perfectly normal and indicated the JOB was complete. But it has been be mistaken one - beep error code meaning "card mother failure."  For later versions of the BIOS deleted the normal POST beep.

As stated by Jennifer, you will need to restore the material to its factory condition to find out if your upgrades are originally the beep at the STATION. This is why it's always a good idea to test a new system first, before making any major hardware upgrade.
