  Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command + SHIFT + F).

• When I type a partial address in the address box, I am redirected to searchalot. How can I stop this?

  For some reason any on this machine in particular, when I type a partial name in the address box, I redirected to a place called a lot.com. They then try to give me the results of what I typed in the address bar, as if it was a search on their web site.

  Normally, if I type in "nl" in the address bar of Firefox on any other machine, it automatically recognizes this mean to Barnes and Nobel and will on this site.

Some message boards have taken me to a link on the Microsoft Web site to download something, but it says you must have windows XP service pack 2 and honestly, I have no idea and do not want to download something to totally screw up my laptop! (ok, maybe I'm not very good with computers!) Also, I found a site telling me something to do but I had no idea where to go or anything! I need someone to tell me EXACTLY what to do to get rid of this really annoying message. Also some sites say that when you press 'OK' another message appears, mine isn't it just goes!

• When I open a new tab, the address box filled with an unwanted, unused address, it don't go there, I don't want filled automatically, how to fix?

  Whenever I open a new tab in Firefox, this address is the address bar: chrome://quick_start/content/index.html. Now, I have nothing against it, but I can't seem to get rid of it. I went to my settings and Add ons and it does not work. Tried to see if I could find somewhere in my internet settings on my computer control panel. I just had someone delete some serious virus and adware problems with my computer and I don't know that they put that in there. How to stop? If I call the place that fixed, they will probably charge me for fixing when it should be an easy fix.

  Do you already have an add-on named QuickStart? Maybe he leaves it behind.

  There is a parameter hidden what appears on new tabs, which you can modify as follows:

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

  • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
  • Blank tab = > subject: empty
  • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
  • Any other page = > full URL of the page

  Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked.

• Restore the 38.4.0 Thunderbird address book Windows crashed 1511 Pro 10 backup computer NAS

  Hello: Unfortunately, my laptop crashed shortly after download and install Windows Update 1511, luckily I have a backup of NAS of the entire computer.

  I tried several methods to replace the original files of abook.wab & history.wab empty backup. The history.wab transfers showing collected addresses, but not my personal abook.wab address book file.

  I'm assuming that the procedures, I tried Thunderbird forums are for the transfer of the abook.wab are to transfer from one direct to another.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Missing address book problem SOLVED!

  What I did:
  1 uninstalled Thunderbird
  2 remove the entire Thunderbird folder in the folder AppData from my PC
  3 made a clean files and registry CCleaner, PC rebooted and defragmented hard drive.
  4 recovered the entire Thunderbird folder from my NAS backup to my PC AppData folder
  5. re-installed Thunderbird, with my POP3 email addresses and the main address book presents
  6 remove all my POP3 e-mail accounts
  7 re-created all my accounts POP3 e-mail, such as IMAP accounts

  There is generally enough visible space 3-(Cc/BCC) fields as the automatic display.

  When there are multiple e-mail addresses can be established, a scroll bar should appear on the right side.

  However, by dragging the bar down reveals more.
  Place the cursor on the line and the cursor should change to a double arrow head.
  Left click and hold down the key to grab the line, and then drag.

  The first thing to try is to click the icon of hamburger (3 bars), tools/import... ... Address book vCard file, and then select the .vcf file. Open address book and see if the new address book seems OK.
