Thunderbird is slow, can not open e-mails, is inadmissible and crashes constantly.

I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I downloaded Thunderbird and imported my old user profile, as I always did in the past. Thunderbird runs incredibly slow. I double click to open an email and it takes 1-3 minutes to open. Thunderbird will display a warning "Not responding" almost every time that happens. Also, if I delete a message, it takes about 45-60 seconds for the program to react and move the message to the trash. Message opening and new or old messages and delete or move the emails to another folder is when problems occur. Write a new message does not appear to be a problem. It is not my internet connection (the link does not show wait times and no other users in my office had this problem). What is the solution? If it can't be fixed then I simply will cease to use Thunderbird as my e-mail program.

Uninstallation of McAfee seems to have fixed this problem (and a bit more with other software). Thank you!

Because I didn't want to be without any protection against the virus, I put Microsoft Security Essentials (free from Microsoft) and it doesn't interfere with any of my programs or software.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones help please! I can not open E: / / or F: / / readers and I can sync folders and media files

Hello world! I got my BlackBerry Torch 9800 on 6 September. On 8 September, I tried to synchronize media files and it was not work. I opened the back cover and there is no MicroSD card. I return to the TELUS store on 16 September and they give me the microSD card. I put it in my cell phone. When I go into Options - devices - storage, the "enable compression" and "media card" are controlled. I see the applications-free space 286,5 MB storage, integrated Total media storage and 3.5 GB of free space and storage card Media-Total and free 7.3 GB. I have also format and fix them both. I try to remove/replace my Media Cardin, to remove/replace my cell phone battery, there is nothing to do. Whatever I do, I can not open E:: / / or F: / / readers (I have new for formatting, I try and it does not work) and I can't synchronize the folder and multimedia files. I see a time "the memory of the device and the media are unavailable because the mass storage is in use". I use the v6.0.0.448 version.

    It is correct. I have rename E: / / and F: / / and it's work.

  • Today I can not open e-mails or send an e-mail

I have an IMAC, OSX, El Capitan; Today, I am unable to open e-mail messages, not all, and I can't send an e-mail. I tried to delete the emails that I don't want and they pop back up like New email. What happens here?

  • I can not open 'create mail' in OE because misconfiguration

Outlook express will not start because MSOE. DLL not initialized
    also I get (0xc0000142)

If you can open OE, create a new identity and test. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

If you can't get there, create a new Folders.dbx file.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Note these possible side effects:

When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited.

I can not open the mail, nor can I open one of the other sections or even get to page 2 of the Inbox. There is no problem with the desktop computer. • Vista, IE8, Windows Mail, can not open attachments

I've been running Vista SP1 with Windows Home Premium and Windows Mail without problems, including handling e-mail attachments.  For safety, I: McAfee Total Protection, Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm and Windows Defender.

I installed IE8 and liked the convenience features.   It worked well on my machine, but now I can't open e-mail attachments.  Security in Windows Mail by IE8 settings are maintained and are defined to allow attachments.  I uninstalled IE8 and the problem disappeared.  None of my security programs are scoring blocked attachments or otherwise.

Any suggestions on how to fix this so I can go back to IE8?

    John C in PA

I just got the phone with McAfee.  It seems that IE8 doesn't is NOT supported by McAfee in its current configuration that they still think IE8 beta.  I was informed that when the consumer final version McAfee support and my attachments e-mail won't be a problem.  Too bad at the moment, I liked IE8.
