Thunking spooler APIs from 32 to 64 process has stopped working
I get this error, Thunking spooler APIs from 32 to 64 process ceased to function, that when I try to print my bank statement which is in the format pdf from my Bank Web site. Otherwise I am able to print from other applications, including Microsoft Office 2000 applications. I am running Vista Home Premium 64 on a laptop Dell Inspiron very new. I already uninstalled the printer several times and that you have downloaded your uninstall cleanup utility, none of this has worked. In addition, no other threads in the forum seem to be like mine. I was able to print from this site as a first step, but are not able to since a few months now. Is this a compatibility issue with the software that is using my bank or is there another problem. My wife has a similar laptop with XP OS and I can print the declaration of his fine form.
Thanks for any help on this matter.I just had the same problem a couple of days. After uninstalling my printer drivers and reinstall, I always had the same problem. I tried a few suggestions on these posts, but still nothing. When I opened my printers in the Control Panel, I found three other printers listed two for quicken and Microsoft office, I deleted these (but not my original HP inkjet printer) and it worked. Hope this helps someone else.

I have a Lenove with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit of the system. Yesterday I got stuck in a loop while looking for a dog boarding on Google. I had to do a system shutdown to break out of the loop. Since then, I get the message: «Host process for Windows services has stopped working...» "Also, I heard the music or script play twice since then and did a reboot to get rid of the problem. I don't know that it will continue if I do not resolve what has caused the problem initially. Also, I went into the control panel one checked all the sound icons and they are all OK.
I'd appreciate if someone could give me some instructions on how to solve these problems. Thank you!!

I have found the answer. The default on my printer changed to a pdf converter that was part of the installation of QuickBooks to my insue. At that time I started, it became the thunking error.
I went into the Control Panel Printers and restore the default value for my regular printer. This has worked for Word 2007, but not for Outlook. So I went in QuickBooks and configure the default printer it for my printer. Then all the others program default printer pointing to the correct printer.
Not sure if it will work for someone else. I never got the hotfix password to work, nor nobody responded to my request again.
I wanted to share this with everyone. This might work for you too.

Windows Shell common Dll does not respond and the Windows Rundll32 host process has stopped working
I got two errors above and try to solve them without my success. My computer is slow, and several programs say "not responding" for a while until what they caught finally upward. It seems that I have a driver problem. Any advice?
Hello riondet,.
Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.
How long did you receive these error messages? Did you change your operating system before thses errors? All new software/hardware installed or new Windows updates?
It seems that a dll is missing. You can fix it easily if you have a vista bootable disk. Just boot from the disk and click on repair your computer and then click on start option repair and it will do the rest.
or, if the problem is not resolved, then insert the vista dvd and then open the command prompt as administrator, and then run the following command...
C:\sfc scannow
and then press ENTER.
