Time machine on network not connection

So, I just had to get a new cable from drive hard installed today after an update failed due Sierra said cable.  In any case, I got the MacBook comes with a new cable and a new installation of Sierra.  I plugged the time directly to her Machine and did a migration assistant restored.  I then put back on my Mini in a network as it was before and tried to Time Machine a backup just to test and got this error

Keychain-25299 error when creating a system keychain to the user name "Jeremy Blanchard" entry and the URL "afp://Jeremy%20Blanchard@Jeremy%20Blanchard%E2%80%99s%20Mac%20mini._afpovertcp._tcp.local/Time%20Machine%20Backups".

Anyone has any ideas on what to do?  It shows up as a drive, I made sure I used (same wrong password) and open Keychain Access and check passwords in there to make sure they are correct.  Any other ideas on what to do to get my backups Time Machine working again would be greatly appreciated.

When you are doing a Migration Wizard restore but use a reformatted hard disk it can spoil the UUID of naming and more complicated things. But how that is the origin of keychain problems, I'm not sure.

My advice is to just get a new drive and start again. Make a clean backup costs and I think it should work.

Post again if you have any questions.

    Quit TimeMachine.

Connect the TC, open the TM preferences, click "Select disk", select the TC and then click on the button "Disk use".

  • Time Machine works do not successfully (I think) restore on a new hard drive (El Capitan)

I had the hard drive replaced in my mid-2011 iMac 27 "a couple of days. Everything seems to go well with the Time Machine restore process.

But it does not appear that all successful backups have occurred within 36 hours since. If a block of half day on "cleaning up previous backups" (sorry, I forgot the exact phrase) or suspended Mid-process, it still seems that the last backup is before the hard drive replacement. Current efforts initiated the process, but it crashes at 519 KB.

In case it is relevant, full use of storage of my iMac is smaller than the available space on the backup drive.

  • Time machine, overwrite is not old backups

    Hello

At home I'm under Time machine on two MacBook Pros, each with 500 GB of HARD drive.

Time Capsule has 3 TB, and it has worked for years with no problems.

At my office, I use Time machine on a WD MyCloud to have a website out of backup.

I booked 2 TB for the time machine backup, but on the MyCloud WD, time machine does not replace the old backups.

I work on a MacBook Pro of the retina loaded with El Capitan.

What should I do to have time Machine by replacing older backups on WD MyCloud as well?

    Thank you very much

    Mokum

Time Machine backup incremental backups after the initial backup.  It does not replace backups.  Time Machine only deletes older backups to free up space when the backup drive is full.

  • Time Machine backups do not complete

My main problem is when I start a Time Machine backup, it works quickly for an hour or two and then slows down to a crawl and never ends.

I'm on 10.11.1.  I reformated my Time Machine backup disk to try to begin to clean up two or three times and I have the same problem.

It started when I updated to El Capitan.  My original backup has been corrupted.  I reformatted the drive and now I am at this point.

  • Why my Time Machine backups do not take many hours?

I recently changed my external backup of a disk in a big flash drive backup.  Some of the Time Machine backups take several hours, sometimes all night or more.  General info on Time Machine Prefs will show large backups, as now "backup 39.6 89.7 MB, with a remaining time" (the flash drive is only about a quarter of full.)  Is it normal for a backup of the USB?  Thank you.

How the drive is formatted? It should be in Mac OS Extended journaled.

  • Time Machine backup is not Backing Up all my files

On my Mac, I used about 450 GB of 500 GB available on my hard drive (as shown in 'about my Mac'). But when you click on the Menulet of Time Machine with a Time Machine backup on an external hard drive, it says "Backing up 28.68 35,65 GB".  Why is it only backup 35,65 GB on my 450 GB of files & data?

    Thank you!

Time Machine backs up only changes since the last backup on your Mac.

The first backup, Time Machine copies on everything from the Mac to the time Capsule. After that, changes are saved with each pass.

  • Sierra Time Machine / Time Capsule problem

After installation of Sierra, I am unable to use Time Machine to a Time Capsule.

There was a MacBook Air with two bootable partitions. The partition Macintosh HD has a system of Yosemite and the score of 'second' was a partition of El Capitan, which was created by a clean install and then allow Migration Wizard copy on Macintosh HD, all accounts, settings, networks and other files. The two partitions have been saved by Time Machine to a Time Capsule. The Macintosh HD partition has been erased and Sierra has been installed on Macintosh HD and Migration Wizard was allowed to copy during the second all accounts, settings, networks, and other files.

Time machine has not worked since. It gets the error message 'no available backup drive.' However, using the Finder, I can get the time Capsule, open the sparsebundle and see all the individual backups. Because I had erased Macintosh HD, I went through the steps to http://pondini.org/TM/B6.html 'reconnect to my backups. Which made no difference (probably because Time Machine is not really see her driving the sparsebundle to the Time Capsule, even if the Finder does no harm to open it).

Then I tried to select again the Capsule as the backup drive. It asks for a password. I give the password and shortly after it comes up with the error message: 25299 Keychain error when creating a system keychain to the URL entry and the user name '< name >' "afp: / / < name > @2%20Tb%20Time%20Capsule._afpovertcp._tcp.local./Data.

(where < name > is the name of the logged-in user) I get the same error message if the user is an independent Director. Despite saying that it was not able to create an entry in the system Keychain, Keychain Access shows that there is an entry with the password. In addition, despite being unable to choose as the backup drive time Capsule, he mounted and left on the desk, the time Capsule (containing the sparsebundle) data folder.

    Any suggestions?

You are the second today with errors of Keychain.

Time machine on network not connection

Sierra is a new OS will have a few bugs... but I think that the way you did this configuration is problematic.

Actually, you have now two partitions with different BONES, but they will have identical computer names (migration has more the name). And it could also spoil the UUID of the disc.

I guess, but I would say

    1. change the name of the computer.

    2. start a new backup... do not try and link the existing backup.

    3. If you still have no success Delete TM (A4 Pondini) plist and reconfigure.

    No post luck returns.

  • problem of time machine Airport: finder does not

    Hello

I use a time capsule from the airport. The connection works fine.

However, I was doing a few files "organized" in the records of the airport and all of a sudden the finder would not respond. I tried to 'Force quit' the finder and start again or turn off 30 seconds time capsule, but the result is the same for a few days now. When I return to my main folder in capsule, automatically the finder is unresponsive and I have to restart the finder.

One of the reasons could be that when I was doing 'organized' files (like move one folder to another, etc.) he too complicated (large files) and then the thing all jammed.

Anyway, if you guys might have a solution for me, this would not lose all my files I appreciate.

Thank you very much for your time.

    All the best,

    Florent

PS: I'm using an Imac, Yosemite, version 10.10.03

Nothing will fix itself without some spoil your files... Something has stuck at halfway between the two and is now corrupted. Unfortunately, Finder can not work around the problem... If you did this correctly, you can use disk utility to solve the problem... but you cannot run disk on TC utility because it is a network drive.

You have three choices I see...

One that suits that I listed last.

1 make the cleaning of the Terminal file. It's hard I think because you do not know which files you were moving around in time. And work of the terminal is for real experts or you can do more damage than you started with.

    2. use a windows computer connected to the CT... that sounds crazy, I know, but you will not crash explore like you do finder. Fix up (remove all the files that are half way moved). If you have been for example copy of records. (travel is not a method Apple uses... so what do you mean by moving?)

Delete the moved folder... Make sure you have all the files elsewhere of course.

    3. There is a way around that could save...

In airport utility go to the disk tab and select archive.

You need to connect a Mac to format USB stick capacity equal or superior to all the files on the TC, including backup (tell me, you need not backup)... you can't be selective. And start archiving. Once you have it on a hard drive which you can then plug your computer... you can run the utility disk on it and fix the problems before opening finder... Once you have done this... Erase the zone folder on TC and copy it to the back of the USB drive repaired. This method may work best... it will cost you a USB... BTW, which is how you should have done this...

Now the rap on the fingers. You can stop reading now...

NEVER USE A NETWORK DRIVE TO YOUR HAND WITHOUT A BACKUP FOLDERS.

When you handle files... do you not understand that each file must be copied TC - computer - TC. If you do more wireless... corruption is inevitable.

All the key files should be on the local drive... A USB plugged into the computer is fine... but active faster the better... libraries and files will end by corrupted if you use files on a network resource and access more wireless... even on ethernet, it can not not... but more wireless, it's inevitable. Apple didn't build protection in the TC to work as a file server. You use software designed for local use.

Always save... If this happened and you had the worst backups that could happen is that you need to clear the TC and copy the files back.

Keep this and you will eliminate not only a few files but loads of them... maybe all.

A time Capsule is not designed for running your files of overload... Plug in a USB key or faster in particular the iMac is great hassle since you can use in powered car and hide behind the computer... The TC is for your TM backups. Dragging files to it... you have now no way back up since the TC cannot save itself and Time Machine backup network drives impossible.

    End rap.
