Time of Acquisition GPS worsened considerably

It seems to me with update for Motorola Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US/BP_C_01.09.07P this GPS Acquisition time worsened considerably. I used to acquire GPS in seconds, now, it often takes several minutes.

I say only this seems to be related to Motorola Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US/BP_C_01.09.07P because it seems to be happened in the last week or two when my phone probably updated to the new Version of the system.

Also NAV and other GPS applications (probably ship with Android OS or DROID X) behave differently (and not better) from a user interface point of view.

Is this related to the update of the software of Motorola Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US/BP_C_01.09.07P?

Anyone else having this kind of experience?

Running Android 2.2.1 with system Version 2.3.340.MB810. Verizon.en.US/BP_C_01.09.07P on two months, DROID X.

I encountered this problem as well.  I reboot and the problem is solved. When the GPS is blocked, I ran GPS status (free app) and the status shows display usually only 1 satellite was acquired, when I see typically 8 to 10 with the right signals. When hung, the GPS can work indefinitely and never acquire enough satellite data in order to put in place a location. The only possible model that I have observed, is that GPS suddenly seems to occur when the phone is in mode "sleep" for a long time, such as during the night. While the problem seems to occur more often with the last OS update, it appeared also when you run the previous version of Android.

I have several popular applications that use the GPS, Google Maps, Google Earth, Weather Channel, AP News, Google Navigation, GPS and other State. I guess, but don't know, that these applications only read the registry of GPS data, but do not otherwise interact with the GPS software. Nevertheless, it could be that a request is the culprit rather than the OS or the GPS subsystem. However, I suspect the latter where resides the bug and hope that Motorola will study.

    Hello

It is on the configuration of the device - settings of the acquisition.

in the parameters of the collection file, can I know is there a way to feed the number of averages and % of overlap between averages aquire waving time.

    Thank you!!

    BR

    Pattabi

In version 3.0 of InsightCM, we will support an average and overlap on the data of the spectrum Viewer.  These settings will be applied only to the visualization of the spectral data and will not apply to calculations on the waveform or spectral data form.

This will meet your needs?  Or are you interested in doing an average and are superimposed on the spectral data to then be used for calculations that are based on spectral data - such as 1 x Magnitude, etc.. ?

    Thanks for the question.

  • How to set an interval of time of acquisition with DAQmx

I use a 6123 DAQ to acquire and store a voltage signal. I'm trying to figure out how I can reduce the time interval of the data acquired, rather than save 2 ms of data I want to only save the first data 100us. Is this possible?

    Kind regards

    Lowksi

How you configure your task?  I can assume that you are using samples for your type of acquisition.  So what you do is the VI of Timing DAQmx place your sample rate and the number of samples to be taken.  The number of samples you want will be the sampe (samples per second) rate multiplied by the interval desired (seconds).

So let's say that you buy at 500kHz and you want data 100us.  You must set the number of samples to read 500e3 * 100e-6 = 50 samples

  • Re: Satellite L500D - speed wireless worsens considerably with lid closed

    Hello

The last 3 days have been nerve wrecking for me. I am the owner of a Satellite L500 D and at the moment, I decided to connect it to an external monitor, to enjoy a better visual experience, until I have buy a desktop computer.

Well, day 1, I had problems with the speed of the wireless connection (the laptop is related to the router via a wireless connection only). Physically, what I've done, it is simply connect the monitor to the laptop, while closing the lid, so it won't get in the way. And Yes, I had already checked the 'Status quo' feature in the desktop "when I close the lid of my laptop.

I went to a speed of 30 Mbpps to love... 1 Mbpps, or even less, so that it becomes almost unbearable for surfing the web, let alone to download all the files. After calling my ISP support line and a subsequent visit by a technician (he's even changed the router), we were convinced that the problem lied in the router, or disruptions in the connections wireless neighbors, microwave ovens, cell phones, that sort of thing. I even thought that the problem had something to do with my wireless keyboard/mouse set that might interfere with the connection because it uses the same 2.4 Ghz band range.

After spending a lot of time to ruin my head, I suddenly noticed how the speed would increase simply by opening the lid of the laptop. And the surprise... If I just lift the lid a bit (like 10 cm) above the keyboard, I hear a sound of 'connection' and therefore, the connection speed is always high.

Have you ever had such an experience? Is the antenna (is it located anywhere in the keyboard?) of the adapter that stops whenever I close the lid? Is it possible to permanently program the computer to have the connection all the time?
Well, it has been an experience painfully education

    Appreciate your comments/solutions

    Paulo

    Hi Paulo

We speak/write here on laptops and computers laptops are designed for mobile use and all of the material placed in the laptop is also optimized for mobile use. It is logical that wireless antenna must be placed in the book part where it can get better WLAN signal. Because of this key WLAN antenna is placed around the screen. When you open the display WLAN antenna is best placed to pick up WLAN signal.

If you want to use the laptop as the lace and desktop replacement by with closed side cover I recommend using connectivity LAN only or perhaps some external WLAN as WLAN USB stick antenna.

  • How to check that I have don't last any time during acquisition?

    Hello

I need to make a continuous acquisition of data using the map OR SMU 5162 that is why I wonder if there is a property in labview node or a program that shows if I lost any points during acquisition?

I really need the answer! Thank you

    Hajar8,

When you start an acquisition, all samples are stored in the memory embedded in a circular buffer.  Then use "Fetch niScope" to request the data from the memory, and the samples are sent via DMA to host and your application.  Because the buffer is a circular buffer, if you retrieve records fast enough (or the sample rate is too fast), then its possible for acquisition to fill all of the on-board memory and then start to crush old samples.  No error is thrown when this happens when you use the SMU-5162.  Instead of this, when you try to extract the data that has been overwritten, the VI "niScope Fetch" will return the following error:

    «Error 107411863 occurred to niScope Fetch...»

    Possible reasons:

The requested data has been overwritten in memory, so it is no longer available for pick up. »

    I hope this helps.

  • the time of acquisition of data - how to calculate the rate of analog output

I want to calculate an acceptable rate of analog output, one that is taken in charge by material (PCIe6353), without the rate being changed by the VI DAQmx Timing (sample clock). The final objective is to have a rate of analog output that is an integer multiple of the analog input for precise frequency, since the sinusoid AO's amplifiers, which have a ringtone when AO updates occur.

According to 27R8Q3YF of the knowledge base: how the actual scanning speed is determined when I specify the rate of scanning to My d..., the rate is revised as needed by calculating the rate of clock / asked for advice, divide the result rounded downwards and upwards in the clock of the Board and use the one that is closest to the requested speed.

If 'Embedded clock' is selected, which is the result "Council clock.  DAQmx sample clock timebase Timing node - SampClk.Timebase.Rate says 100 ms/s. However, for a rate resulting from the update of 2.38095MS / s, the divisor of the time base timing node - "SampClk.TimebaseDiv" gives a value of 42. 42 x 2.38095 M = 99, 999, 990, where it should be 100 ms/s.

How to calculate an acceptable rate of analog output is supported by the hardware? I have other plates, in addition, a general method would be appreciated.

I haven't worked all the details yet but noticed a few things that may be relevant.

Req AI rate isn't a whole ditch 1E8. It is used to determine the rate of the AO.

There is no check to ensure that the rate of the AO is an integer division.

It seems that you have the right idea, but the implementation is not yet there.

  • Time GPS, Position, Velocity.vi - error-1073807360 reading was held at node (arg 1) .vi property VISA set up a Serial Port (Instr)

We receive information such as the Latitude and Longitude of a receiver Garmin GPS18xLVC via a serial port on our PC using LabView 7.1.  Successfully, I connected the GPS on the serial port and tested with HyperTerminal.  I tried reading GPS time, Position, Velocity.vi several times and still receive the following error message: error 1073807360 has occurred to the property node (arg 1) visa configure a Serial Port (Instr) .vi.  I think it has something to with the configuration of the VISA series under vi.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

I understood the question, that I had with the time reading the GPS, the Position, the Velocity.vi.  The vi. "do not open" port com automatically and so I had to modify the NMEA GPS Subvi reading to first open the port (VISA open command) and then continue with other operations.  Once I did this it started to work very well.  I don't understand why this feature has been left out because it won't work without it.  I tested the code with a receiver Garmin 18xlvc and it seems to work fine.

  • Battery blackBerry Bold 9900 Smartphones worsens more than 50% after 2406 upgrade

My battery life Bold 9900 worsened considerably after the recent OS 7.0 Bundle 2406 set to level. I had previously struggled to spend the day on a battery, but in general, I could do it for a day and business general use of electronic mail, of limited calls and not Web browsing. Now, after the recent 2406 upgrade, I get only about 50% as much battery life. In addition, the black box of the small Center with white rotating second hand is now a function that comes back regularly throughout the day, and I had to remove my battery to restart my BlackBerry much more often. I've since removed all applications, cut back on all the other battery draining features (screen brightness, wifi, Bluetooth, gps, etc), moved to 2G to extend my battery life. I was already unhappy with the bad battery BlackBerry Bold 9900 life, but after this last update 2406, it is unacceptable for a professional use when it only works for 1/2 day. I hope it's a question of battery RIM known for Bold 9900 that is processed quickly. Otherwise, I am one of the many who will have to move to a more acceptable solution for phone smart business in a perspective of battery life. Thank you.

Well, I have implemented battery BlackBerry 9900 technical of economy in this forum, and to my surprise, he solved all much more than I expected. My last load battery Bold 9900 lasted 6 days/86 hours (compared to less than 1/2 day) during normal use of business and weekend for the phone calls, emails, texts and the bbm, exclusion using the internet or applications. I moved 2 G + 3 g to 2G only, off all the apps (especially GPS, Google sync and social networks), turned down the brightness of my screen and shorten the waiting time, calendar, disabled wifi and bluetooth, etc. Thanks for all the comments in the forum. They worked. Now I will be slowly adding some applications and using 3 G on the internet once again, and I will more closely control my battery drain in the future.

  • iPhone 6 GPS works not

    Hello

About a year (like on iOS 9 version), GPS on my phone did not work.  When I would try to use maps from Apple, it seems that my car has been the road somewhere in the grass, and sometimes many roads above.  He could never stay with me while driving.  Also, this happened when using Google Maps, so I knew it wasn't just a problem with the Apple Maps app.

I tried to restart the phone several times, remove the GPS applications and reinstall them, completely wipe the phone and start from scratch, etc.  The problem still exists.  So for a while, I just dealt with him.  I just use GPS my car if I needed one.  Although it has always bothered me that my 128 GB of 6 GPS iPhone did not work.  However, with the release of the 'Pokémon GO' game that is based on the GPS, I am very disappointed that I get a signal error my GPS is not detected (Yes, I have activated the application location services).

Is there some app or something that I can use to diagnose my GPS antennas in the phone?  I have the full 5-bar signal (point?), and my phone is in developer/debug mode, so I can also see that the detailed signal is - 81.  I have AT & T as my carrier.  There must be a way to determine if something in my phone is damaged.  I would go to the Apple Store, but the closest is an hour and a half, so I would like to avoid that if possible.

I have the same problem as well. I noticed when I tried to use the WAZE app for the first time since more than a year and it does not locate my position accurately enough. I've never really cared because I rarely travel too far and my GPS worked well enough for me to navigate when I should not rely on a map. Now that Pokémon GO is out which relies on positioning very accurate since some Pokemon can only be captured in some areas, it is really annoying that my phone takes a lot of time to put me in a general situation or fails to find me at all. I know it's just a game, but it's really annoying because it's the first week of release, and all my friends are playing. Seems my GPS only works pretty well to play when I'm more urban areas in my city (perhaps the buildings help focus signals on my phone) compared to parks and suburban more areas. The phone would make my position in the game by tens of metres offshore and sometimes would be me all about teleport to another whole BLOCK!

I think it may be a hardware problem because I also noticed that my phone started to worsen to pick up WIFI signals as well. I use to be able to walk my business and maintain a good WIFI signal and now it seems that I can hardly connect to my router unless I'm less than 10 feet of it. Around, I read that this could be a short film of either a bad charging cable, damaged by the heat that damage the WIFI and GPS, modules or an update that fried partial systems.

Edit: I checked my router with the new iPhone of others and they had really good reception of the WIFI signal like what I had at first, that's why I think it's a hardware problem.

  • GPS sync and external clock

    Hello everyone,

my task is to synchronize my PXI system to the time base GPS and after using an atomic clock (10 MHz output signal) as well as external CLK in. after the first synchronization of the GPS. the GPS signal is no longer available, however very important as the base unit of time not significantly drift. For the material there is a PXI chassis with 6682H module for GPS reception and 5622/5603-5653 combination for the acquisition of measurement data available.

I thought since I'm fairly new to Labview and PXI system, it would be nice if someone could give me some feedback on the solution and help solve the problems that I have.

The idea would be to have atomic clock connected to all CLK INs the PXI at all times. For GPS sync I would use the "Set time reference niSync' function first set the clock of Council to the GPS. After the free trial (the device is not moved during the GPS synchronization) I would like to stop using the GPS.

After the external atomic clock. should also be used to calculate the frequency increases and the determination of the relative time. I suppose that if I back the reference to free running time, it would still use the last increments of calculated frequency derived from GPS?

Is there another solution to address both reference to PPS? Problem is, I only have a 10 MHz signal available.

Thanks a lot for any help

    Hello.

When the PXI-6682 tries to synchronize to a source (GPS, 1588, PPS), she is a great fit for its time base, to eliminate the first offset from the source and then made small developed to the clock, the timekeeper, to keep in sync with the source of the conduct.

In this case, you have an atomic source at 10 MHz that you trust, so you do not want/need small adjustments, you want to only make the initial adjustment of wholesale and then just run based on the clock of 10 MHz supplied.

Is there a way to make the PXI-6682 to do this.  You will need to configure it to assume that PXI_CLK10 is good and no adjustment is necessary. There is no call to the Sync API OR standard to do this, you need to get the VI that configures the jury to do this in the .llb used to clock discipline (in which the PXI-6682 also doesn't make small adjustments based on his time, but guess PXI_Clk10 is 'good').

You can get the .llb from here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2318/lang/en

The VI you need is mdevClkDisc.llb\_clkDisc_niSync_advancedAttribute_set_bool.vi

Together the "attribute of niSync" entry "Clk10 disciplining activated ' and the 'value' of coming true, as shown in the picture as an attachment.  The time reference offset must be<10ns and="" constant. ="" give="" that="" a="" try="" and="" let="" us="" know="" how="" it="">

Note that once you do this, the PXI-6682 will be able to make adjustments to his timekeeper. It will work exclusively on the 10 supplied MHz reference clock. Therefore, if the clock of 10 MHz in fact derive from GPS, there is nothing that the 6682 can do about it.  If you fall into this situation, one thing you can do is set at a time reference to free running, set the time to something that is off by saying that 60 seconds, and then set the time reference to the GPS.  That should put it back on the rails.

    I hope this helps.

  • time real cRIO and confusion of FPGA

I'm confused on the use in real time or FPGA.

I learn from training material, you use cRIO with FPGA and real-time, you have two

synchronization means: one is the analytical engine, another is calendar FPGA. However, the frequency of synchronization

real time is limited to 500 Hz, see attachment.

I wonder, if I want to acquire samples using 5 k rate of real-time data acquisition card

system, such as cRIO and sampling interval is 1 Hz. That is, using a timed loop which is 1 Hz and inside

the loop, can I use DAQmx to acquire waveform using5k rates?  or I have to using of FPGA to acquire waveforms

Whe I want to acquire signals with greater than 500 Hz rate?

cDAQ is not an FPGA, but use DAQmx.

  • block size / real-time

    Hello

I know that some of you have already had this kind of problem, and I tried to solve the mine with your solutions, but it work yet... My problem is the following: I have to stop acquisition with a global variable of pre-definied. At the beginning of the program to choose the acquisition (in second) time, thanks to the action module. Then begins as and when the program notice a variation of the input (defined), he begins to write values to a folder and save the data.

After the relay module, I put a module based on the time and choose "measurement in second time. The statistical module take the max and min and then do a subtraction (max - min) to get the real acquisition time (which begins with the combi-relaxation). I use the formula In (0) > global variable (pre-definied) and then an action that stops the measurement when the variable global (acquisition time) is more than.

I want to have 2 seconds of time of acquisition, but the routine often stops around s 2.047, but is not specific enough (with the size (512) to block automatically to 1000 Hz)... So, I tried to change the basics of time for block size = 1 and sample rate = 1000 (for all: driver, dasylab and acquisition card). But now the acquisition time doesn't seem to match with the real time...!

    For more information, I use:

    USB 1608G (MCC - DRV)

    DASYLab 12 (evaluation version).

If you have an idea of what I need to do... An accuracy of 1 ms would be great (as a block size of 1 with sampling frequency of 1000 Hz...)

I joined the worsheeet below for a better understanding.

If it could be useful to others... (Fortunately ^^) I found the solution!

I used the Basic module of time, I chose "time of day" and then, I put the module 'statistics statistical values' and I take the max, min. After that, I put an arithmetic module and "max - min".

I hope it's ok, but it looks like the right way to find what I was looking for...

  • Trip trying to rearm with the pxi-5122 times

    Hi all!
This is my first discussion in this forum so I'm not sure this is the right place to post, because I'm using LabView, but maybe it's a hardware problem.

Then... I have a problem to calculate the tripping time rearm to pxi 5122.
Compared to data sheets, I read that it should be about 3 us with the CDT to the large or 12 US if on.
But I need a precise measurement of the time out after each record measured so I decided to find it by myself...
With the help of an acquisition program that I have previous written in LabView, I started only acquisitions of 10000 records and each record is composed of 128 samples; as signal I've used waves square with different frequencies, 10 volts peak-to-peak (my trigger was set on the first channel of 5122 with 1 volt in value of edge).

First acquisition: wave of 50 kHz. Theoretically, I s 0,2 need to capture 10000 records without losing all the square wave signals. Choose a time of acquisition for a single record of 15.3 us, I found that the time required is 0.199998 , very similar to the one expected.
Then by choosing a time of acquisition for a single record of 15.4 us, I found approximately 0.4 s.
I can guess that this latter one each tops of two waves will lost so I held twice the capture of 10000 records time.

    Because the wave is 20 us I calculated a timeout of 20-15, 3 = 4.7 us.
It wasn't like the 3 described us for the 5122 but I was not impressed and I went with my essay.

Second wave: 20 kHz. I need 0.5 s to capture 10000 records without losing the square wave signals.
What I found was that in this case, choose us an acquisition time for one record of 39.6 required 0.5 s to capture all vertices, then with 39.7 us I held about 1 second, once again, twice by the time.
The previous example, I calculated the dead time: 50-39, 6 is 10.4 us.

Very strange... idle time I'm supposed to be the trigger for rearmament (and thus fixed) did not differ in 2 cases.
Tried with other wavelengths, the values are always different.

This also the frequency of the square wave of fixing and changing the number of samples per record.
For example, with 128 samples per files as I told before, I needed a measurement time of 15.3 US to collect all the consecutive summits, while 64 samples I need 12.8 us and so forth.

So it seems to be a dependency between the dead after a record time (the trigger reset? now I'm not sure if I can call it that) and the sampling frequency of the pxi 5122.
But I don't know why, the acquisition of data behave in this way.

Is this good? Rearm time should be set, shouldn't it?

I know it took some time to read my problem but I tried to be more precise, I could.
    Thank you in advance.

    Giacomo

Yes that's correct.  However, I do not think that its acceptable rate of the nearest synchronization that is chosen.  I really think he goes to rate lowest according to acceptable timetable.  So, if a synchronization rate is 2 and another is 5, and you want a 4.9uS rate, the synchronization will be 2, while 5 is the closest.  (Or maybe it's the other way around)  That's why you see the double period during the change of rates by just a fraction.

You received an error code? If so, what is it? What version of NOR-DAQmx driver you have installed? It seems your driver potentially incorrectly installed, and you may need to reinstall the driver.

Here is the link to the latest version of the NOR-DAQmx driver: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-9.8/4297/en/
