Time to stop buying Dell

Is a very loyal customer of Dell for 2011. I buy about 3-5 computers Dell, servers or switch per month. They hit a rough patch a few years ago, when they moved all the overseas call centers. They fixed that by moving support to businesses at home. However, it seems that they sent back from overseas call center. You can barely understand the staff, they care 0 on customer service, they stonewall on everything. They will no longer send tech on-site for the warranty unless you fight them for 2 hours on this issue. They used to be GREAT topic to honor their warranty, now why spend the 3 hours of time on the phone when you can simply order your parts online and save yourself the stress.

I thought that Michael Dell would buy the company and change things? It is precisely because I bought Apple computers more each month.

Hi Adam,.

Please repost this in the forum of customer care. Maybe they can help resolve this issue.

  • Time executable stopped working

Last week, I started getting a message error at startup which said 'time executable stopped working. In the forum, I noticed that others had the same problem. Using msconfig and by disabling some startup (by the process of elimination) items, I've isolated the problem to a file called DLCGCATS. Although I stopped now that file to load (and the creation of the error window), I want to fix it or remove it completely. How can I do? The manufacturer is listed as 'Unknown' and the command for the file is "rundll32 C:\windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\DLCGtime.dll, _RunDLLEntry@16. Your help to help me repair or remove this program would be greatly appreciated.

    The solution is:

    1. start-> run > MSCONFIG-> startup.

    2. find the DLCGCATS file and uncheck (disable).

    3 re-boot.

    4 problem disappears at startup

Please note this file belongs to Dell and I believe that they have granted a new driver that will also solve the problem. Be sure to update all of your drivers if you are using a Dell PC.

  • "Show my windows and tabs from last time ' has stopped working after software updated to the end of January or early February. Now on 12.0a2. Change options "Auora to start: ' no longer works.

I use this feature for years and update Firefox/Aurora in the next few days, maybe a week, an update becomes available and everything suddenly ' show my windows and tabs from last time ' has stopped working. I can go to the Tools-Option-general tab and change "at Aurora startup:" to this option, or 'Show my home page (s)' and now the opening in a new tab single even though I have URLs there. This may mean that this bit is not read correctly. I'm not playing: config, but I watch a few spoken options in the Web and everything looked OK.

I would uninstall and reinstall it if you think it will solve the problem. I updated Aurora again because this problem started and it remains broken. It is a system of XP with SP3

PS: I have two other windows with a XP and the other Windows 7. When I had the problem on my primary XP System I stopped to make updates to other systems. Today I updated the two other systems with the latest Auora (skip one or two updates) and both work very well.

The best way for me to trouble?

    Hey punchcard4rjw,

Have you tried to start Firefox in Mode safe? Key 'shift' startup of Firefox. If it doesn't happen in Mode without failure, you should read the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems.

If this does not work, you should look the article How to fix preferences that will not save.

  • Updates every time I stop.

Daily for 9 days, when it's time to stop, I allow to install a windows update.  And then it takes about 12 to 15 minutes until that ends, all on the screen that says "do not turn off or unplug your computer.

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit Home Edition.  According to the center of my action, there is currently no updates to install, but I assume that as soon as I stopped once again today, they tried to install another update (with a shield icon yellow of small windows on the button closure).

Why can I not get new upates daily, if not twice a day?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Probably most of those which are updates which are stuck in repetition.

guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

  • Windows takes time to stop when the computer is turned off

has had to reload xp without windows takes a long time to stop

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

You re - install Windows XP and still have the same problem?

During the shutdown of the Windows XP computer, it may take longer time to complete the shutdown process. Slow stops are caused a lot of factors. One of the causes is the clear pagefile at shutdown option enabled.

    Try the following steps:

    Use the Group Policy Editor

    a. Click Start, run and type in "Secpol.msc".
    b. click local policies | Security options.
    (c) in the right pane, set stop: clear the pagefile of virtual memory for people with reduced mobility.

However, this setting is not the only cause of slow closures. No relevant programs and Services also contribute to slow closures.

If the problem is seen recently after installing a driver software or third-party, try a system restore to see if that solves the problem of the slow stop.

  • With 32-bit and a clean install also takes a long time to start and a very long time to stop.

I use 32-bit and a clean install also, it takes a very long time to start (and sometimes it will not) and a verlong tike to close

    Hello Duane,

For more clarity and response, I divided it in its own thread.

After your post, it seems that Vista 32 bit takes a long time to start and a very long time to stop.

What are the specifications of material of this machine?

We might want to try a clean boot and see how that affects the issue.

More details about this is located at the following link:

  • Time executable stopped working at startup

    Original title: "Error Messages"

Time executable stopped working at startup, does that mean and how can I fix it?

A program that you try to start is not doing this or that you get the message.  If the system is otherwise works fine, we can only focus on the removal of the element (and perhaps we can solve the problem - whatever it is - along the way).

Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Go to start / search and type in msconfig.exe and enter and double-click on the program icon that appears, go to the Startup tab and disable all.  Reboot and see if you still have the problem.  If not, add slowly the programs at startup (you want to start - you can take this opportunity to clean this area) until the problem recurs.  Clear this check box, add the rest of the startup items you didn't got but which have been checked and restart.  The message should be gone now.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • My computer may take a long time to stop.

    * Original title: Shut down

My computer off button does not work correctly. My computer may take a long time to stop.

Do not press the power button to turn off the computer or to solve a gel. Click on the ORB at the bottom left of the desktop and click stop. If you are having shutdown problems, then select the hotkey Ctrl + Shift + Esc to bring up the Task Manager and click the Applications place the cursor on a running application to select and click on the end task button. As the application is removed from the list, repeat the procedure on the next application in the list until all are gone from the list. If you use the taskbar to access programs simply close all open windows. Then, you should be able to shut down your computer.
