Time zone conversion - it'S time (summer time British) 11 GR 2 IS
Hi allI used the FROM_TZ function to convert the British summer time IS by using the following query.
select FROM_TZ (TO_TIMESTAMP (TO_CHAR (sysdate - 1, 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss'),
'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss'
),
'BST'
) at time zone 'EST5EDT'
from dual;
ORA-01882: timezone region not found
01882. 00000 - "timezone region %s not found"
*Cause: The specified region name was not found.
*Action: Please contact Oracle Customer Support.
Why it does not recognize the UTC time zone... or am I missing something?
Hello
Try like this...
select FROM_TZ (TO_TIMESTAMP (TO_CHAR (sysdate - 1, 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss'),
'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss'
),
'america/Adak'
) at time zone 'EST5EDT'

Time zone conversion issue.
Hello
I'm having a problem with the following command.
Error:select CAST(from_tz(cast ((to_date('2013-03-31 01:01:00','YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS')) as timestamp),'Europe/London' ) AT TIME ZONE 'GMT' AS DATE) from dual;
ORA-01878: specified not found in datetime or interval field
01878 00000 - "specified field not found in datetime or interval.
* Cause: The specified field is not found in the datetime or interval.
* Action: Make sure that the specified field is datetime or interval.
Please help remember me what is the problem here.
Thank you.
Mr. lonelyWhat you have given is not a valid time in Europe/London.
If I'm not wrong, for Day light saving in the specified time zone, DST started on Sunday, March 31, 2013 to 01:00 when local clocks went forward 1 hour.
If you try another date, the code works. Or if you try any time other than 01:00-01:59:59 - this is going to work...
Search for "dst in europe/london", you will get more details...

Hello.
I get some information on events and a field has its time as:
17:00 CEST
Unfortunately I need at this time in HE, so I need to convert from UTC + 2 to UTC - 5. I've done to isolate the "05" and subtract the amount of time. BUT my problem is so he can understand if it is AM or PM.
Any suggestion?
Thank you very much
Luiz
If I understand correctly, then you can try something like this:
The formula in B2:
= LEFT (A, 8)
This removes SSTC and leaves a string of numbers that is able to recognize as a time.
The formula in C2:
= TIME (HOUR (B) −7, MINUTE (B), SECOND (B))
The result will be a string date and time, where the cell was formatted in does not show the part of the date.

Time zone in Javascript conversions
I've gone through some of the previous posts on the issue of time zone conversions, but I was hoping someone could reduce it to someone not as familiar with Javascript.
My task is to create a form that will calculate hourly pay for a business trip. I have written code to calculate the hours between the hours of departure and arrival. The question that I have is to make the form more user-friendly, I have a drop down menu of all major cities with zones that the user will be able to choose because most of the routes are local time which facilitates travel on difficult zones. I want to write code that automatically set both (internal and not visible to the user) to the hour UTC or GMT, based on the time and the time zone entry, will do the calculations that I created in the script, I've already written and then display the number of hours. As you can see, I plan in my head, but I'm not sure how to put it to 'paper '.I only need help with time zones, because I'm over my head, but I don't need someone to write the code for me just if all goes well will explain how can I implement these tools in an existing program that will calculate the hours between the departure and arrival without compensation in time zones. I have a feeling that I will need to use the Olson database and possible GeoNames or Earthtools.
Olson database
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/zoneinfo
http://www.Twinsun.com/TZ/TZ-link.htm
GeoNames
http://www.GeoNames.org/export/Web-services.html#timezone
Earthtools
http://www.earthtools.org/webservices.htm#timezone
I'm not sure but maybe if you were to set the offset of the time zone for the items in your drop down list you can then use this value to correct the UTC or GMT or other. Then on the link for your DOF tab, you must set the values under specify point values, so you have, use the boundItem() method to retrieve the offset value.
It's just off the top of my head, I'm not sure I would try to write something like myself!

Hello
It gives below error when I select the snapshot recorded under REPORTS and continue.
The user's time zone is not defined. Please click on the link 'Préférences' in the upper right and specify you the zone to proceed further.
In the preferences there is no option to set the time zone. Please notify.

1. "allow time zone Conversions' should be set to 'Yes' at the level of the Site.
2 ' server Timezone' must be set at the Site level for the time zone in which resides the database server.
3. "time zone of the client" must be set for each individual user in the user level based on the location of users (not if the default user level the value "Server time zone").For customizations, see MOS Doc 304670.1 pl (how to remove a customization of the OA framework)

Hello
I noticed the time UTC gives me time British. Is there a way to avoid the TSB, British summer time and continue to use coordinated universal time as a time of cross-country stable?
If I type UTC in the nearest town, I get UTC without lag. It says GMT as the time zone, but I guess that's maybe because the TSB has not started yet.

LR5: time offset when importing photos - why?
Import my pictures from the camera with storage in folders by date. Now, I've discovered that photos taken before midnight are stored in the folder for the next day.
After a review, I found that the time displayed when you move the pictures in the import dialog are always displayed with an offset of + 2:00 for the real time (such as described in the camera) when the photo was taken. So all photos taken after 22:00 are stored in the folder for the next day.
My conclusion is that LR obviously takes the offset from the UTC time zone (in my case: THIS summer, which is UTC + 2) when importing photos. I remember having that first saw on travel in New Zealand last year when import photos on my PC that I had put to the local time zone on a trip, so this shift was 12 hours.
When viewing the photos later in the module library or development, the time is displayed correctly, so obviously drawn "like what" EXIF/XMP.
Is this a known issue? I could not find a place in the LR settings to control this behavior.
It is a very old bug, which has never been set. The simple solution is to import from a card reader, not a camera directly connected. The insect bites only during the import of the camera.
Image capture metadata must be perfectly OK, so no need to change anything here, it is only the name of the folder that is affected by the bug.

Synchronization time classic blackBerry
How long should a synchronization of calendar/contacts on my new classic? So far, each sync has taken at least half an hour - the current went for 40 minutes and we are still at the stage 'get information status of Outlook calendar '. I think that there are only 3 differences between my camera and my PC on this particular synchronization, so it shouldn't be struggling. any thoughts on how to do it more quickly? On my "BOLD", synchronization takes approximately 3 minutes max.
Very frustrating indeed. Have you tried syncing to another folder in that drop-down list that I mentioned in my previous post? At the end of the day, it was my problem that support people helped me with. I bought my ShopBlackBerry classic, not a local provider or the carrier. This is perhaps the reason why I had a card of free 30 days free support in my box when I bought my camera. I am a resident in the United Kingdom, and the hotline gave me was a number in the United Kingdom (even though the agent that I spoke was based in Malaysia). I agree, your local support team is unlikely to experience problems of synchronization. The agent of BB, that I have spoken, who taught what was my call. May I suggest you try to get support of BB free number of your local population, because you're in your 30 days and they are unable to help you? Otherwise, I could give you an international number for people to Malasia, you could call them and get them to call back you? I'm away from home for the next few hours, so I will be able to give you this number later tonight (time British) If you wish. Don't give up, the Classic is a great device, there must be a solution to your problem! -If my post helped anyone, please give me a 'like' by clicking on the button I like

We are working on a database of Oracle 10 g and I am confused with my current problem of the company. I openly tell my expierience works with applications with users across multiple time zones is limited. Here's my current frustration. On our database, which is managed by our Organization COMPUTER, when I try to use functions to change the time zone, I get 'UNKNOWN '. The offset is always given, but zone region is never displayed, it is still unknown. I know that the box I am currently working on is in the EAST, but I do not know if is observed DST? My application requires certain behavior at the beginning of each month. Our business plan says that our system will work always at the time of the East, but it can move to a database on the West Coast server later. So when I write code as select extract (TIMEZONE_REGION from CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) it is unknown. If I write "Select double sessiontimezone or dbtimezone double I get - 05:00, which shows me that it is in." I need to write a function which basically always takes the date system and always it shifts East Similarly if the box on which I am in PST. As I get the 'UNKNOWN' trying to get to the region, I can't use some built-in functions. I see that our data base does not recognize the EDT as a 'region', then how the DST is managed? I thought I could take any shift, always bring back the hour GMT, then move it to the East, it might work except the possible displacement of the DST?
Needless to say, my mind is essentially blown... and this has been a long day. Thanks for any help... Here my basic business rule:
No matter what the time zone is the db's, I still want to store data in IS observing DST... Sounds simple, that I don't know I'm missing something.
Thanks for your help guys!
Malibu368If you want just the current timestamp in a particular time zone, use the clause to the ZONE. Since I am in the time zone of the East already, I will show and example of conversion of the present time in the Pacific time zone as well as the conversion to Eastern time zone (conversion to the East has obviously no effect).
SQL> ed Wrote file afiedt.buf 1 select systimestamp, 2 systimestamp at time zone 'US/Pacific', 3 systimestamp at time zone 'US/Eastern', 4 sys_extract_utc( systimestamp ) 5* from dual SQL> / SYSTIMESTAMP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYSTIMESTAMPATTIMEZONE'US/PACIFIC' --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYSTIMESTAMPATTIMEZONE'US/EASTERN' --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYS_EXTRACT_UTC(SYSTIMESTAMP) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19-APR-11 10.34.52.250000 PM -04:00 19-APR-11 07.34.52.250000 PM US/PACIFIC 19-APR-11 10.34.52.250000 PM US/EASTERN 20-APR-11 02.34.52.250000 AM
Commonly, applications that need to store dates from around the world will want to store them using GMT (Greenwich Mean Time / coordinated universal time) and then convert to a local time zone. Oracle provides the SYS_EXTRACT_UTC function to convert timestamps in GMT. You can then use the NEW_TIME function to convert the date GMT in a local time zone. This is not necessary if you want to always just time in the Eastern time zone, but it may be useful to other places.

What's up with the timestamp?
I put my cameras (or that they establish themselves) for the time zone, I'm taking pictures (summer time Central Europe). My time zone is Mountain time. When I import my pictures the zone always shows as the mountain, not European. Time stamp adjusts so I end up with pix which shows the time it was taken IN COLORADO! I was in Sweden! So instead of the 11:00, it was in Stockholm, my photos it was 03:00! I remember vaguely when asked about this when I started with Photos, but I can't find the screen to change usage home in time to use the local time (or whatever it says).
One of my problems lots and lots of Photos.
Linda
You can change the time zone in Image > setting Date and time > click on the one you want to use.

Site to site VPN - need help to set up several tunnels
I currently have tunnels VPN site-to-site of two remote sites with 1720s to connect to an ASA5510 on my site TOWN_HALL. (see attached diagram)
It works well, but I want to add connectivity between the 1720-A LAN (172.20.3.0/24) and LAN 1720 - B (172.22.3.0/24). What is the best way to do it? The years 1720 can be configured with direct VPN L2L tunnels or that will affect the existing tunnels is the ASA5510? If so, I'm guessing that each 1720 will have to go through the ASA first.
Thank you.

Questions of DST, part two
Oracle 11.20.1.0 SE - One
Oracle Linux 5.6 x 86-64
Cut to the Chase. Most of our tasks in the Scheduler is set so that start_date, last_start_date, and next_run_date all specify them the zone with a fixed offset. As a result, the first execution after the time change DST, they ran an hour initially, but then calculation for the next execution corrected and they found running at the scheduled time.
Finally, almost.
We have two application schemas that have Task Scheduler.
Jobs in a schema is featured as above.
But all the work of the other schema to continue to run an hour earlier.
the above can be seen in the result of this query:
Very easy to simply go to the bottom of the column LOG_DATE and see time to change.select instance_name , systimestamp from v$instance; -- select owner , job_name , log_date , status from dba_scheduler_job_log here log_date > sysdate - 10 and owner not in ('EXFSYS', 'ORACLE_OCM', 'PERFSTAT', 'SYS' ) order by owner , job_name , log_date ;
For my first two questions is - can someone explain the behavior above, in particular the inconsistency in a single schema 'cure' jobs themselves after the first run after the time change, but another schema employment continuing to run an hour earlier.
I don't know if she's wearing on her or not, but most of the jobs (two patterns) is provided with a local function to "frequency" that uses a decimal representation of the time (ie: WEEKLY(.4583,'SATURDAY'))
And a second question - what are the things that affect the representation of time zone in the start_date when defining a new job? Our programmer creates / manages jobs using SQL Navigator, and there is no provision in the GUI it to specify a specific time zone or (offset vs name) method to represent a time zone. I read that there are some influences on the client side, but have not restored that right away.Try
SELECT CAST (SYSDATE AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE) FROM dual;
you will see the time zone.
Or a more detailed example
ALTER SESSION SET TIME_ZONE='Europe/Prague'; SELECT dbms_scheduler.stime, sysdate, systimestamp, current_timestamp,CAST (SYSDATE AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE), CAST (to_date('1.1.2012','dd.mm.yyyy') AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE) FROM dual; ALTER SESSION SET time_zone='Asia/Bangkok'; SELECT dbms_scheduler.stime, sysdate, systimestamp, current_timestamp,CAST (SYSDATE AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE), CAST (to_date('1.1.2012','dd.mm.yyyy') AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE) FROM dual; ALTER SESSION SET time_zone='-6:00'; SELECT dbms_scheduler.stime, sysdate, systimestamp, current_timestamp,CAST (SYSDATE AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE), CAST (to_date('1.1.2012','dd.mm.yyyy') AS TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE) FROM dual;
You can see that DATE to TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE conversion session TIME_ZONE.

How to upgrade the system of recovery?
First of all, I am a new user, not sure this is the right place for my question, if negative, I'm sorry then.
It is:
I received an alert this afternoon (time British), asked me undate recovery system (im using window7 64 bit).But im a pc hand very green, any expert user here can tell me how to do the following step by step:
1 unzip the file downloaded on my hard drive.
2. switch to the download folder and double-click the up.exe game to start the installation.While downloading, "you need to install this software on 64-bit Windows 7" shown!
What should I do and how to do?
Thank you guys very very well and your kind assistance.
Hi mate
I think everything has already been said.
You must store the package to update the HARD disk; for example on C:\
You will need to decompress the package because the folders with all files are compressed.
To decompress the package, you can use WinRAR. It is a free tool and can be downloaded on the internet. Google simply.After you have unpacked the downloaded package, you must go to the place where the files were unpacked and there you have to choose .exe file. Above all it s setup.exe
After installation, you will need to restart the device and that s itBut note; These alerts are only a notification and no recommendation!
Then, if your system is working properly, you n don't need to update anything. -
Hello
I have Pavilion 15-N027SE (product number: F1D65EA). Product

I need help with this problem as soon as possible because I am confronted with several difficulties without these drivers.
Someone please give me a link where I can download the necessary drivers for my work laptop.
Hello
There is a general problem with the "Drivers" option on the HP Portal - I notify HP earlier (this morning, time British) on this subject, so I guess that the question will soon be corrected.
The only advice I can give at the moment is to try again a little later.
Best regards
