  • Need to change user account control settings, but cannot access (windows 7Prof.-64 bits)

    Hello

With Windows 7 Professional 64 bit laptop

I am the 'Standard user' and the only user of my laptop.  I don't know if I have an administrator account.  I could have or something with a similar name when first setting up laptop and loading Windows program (a few years ago).  But I remember he was causing Windows always show both accounts and choose one to log-in to.  I didn't want no choice since I am the only user of the laptop, so I understood how to make to get rid of the other account (admin?) and kept the Standard user because 'Help' instructions, said it should be used.

There are so many programs that I can not open because the user account control box "do allow you the following program to make changes...?   The choice of 'Yes' is NEVER highlighted or available - that the choice of the 'no' can be clicked.  And the same dialogue box asks also but it is not a place to type the password "Administrator".  I don't even have a Director. Password, or a password to the Standard user account.

And I am referring to all kinds of programs that can not open, as "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool" that I downloaded from the Microsoft Web site.  Or I went into control panel 'User account', but try clicking on 'Change settings User Account Control' brings the same view, "do allow you the following program to make changes to the computer?  Or when, on the page of computer system, I can't access 'Advanced System Settings' due to the same dialog box.

How to solve this problem?  I'd rather not have the choice of Auditors when Windows opens.  I looked through other similar topics here (only Windows 7 partners), and some seek to make changes to the registry.  It's very intimidating for me.  I'm not a computer scientist at all, but fairly intuitive with the computer.  The problem cornered me.  Another opinion on a thread is said to use "Fix It".  This program is no longer available (we now 2016).  I also experienced this problem all this time but am pretty frustrated and wanted to try the job.

Should I re - load the Windows program and do something else?

I hope someone can provide some less intimidating process that touch the registry to fix this.  I really appreciate it.

    Thank you!

    Massachusetts

I could have or something with a similar name when first setting up laptop and loading Windows program (a few years ago).

    -> Yes, you did.

I understood how to make to get rid of the other account (admin?) and kept the Standard user because 'Help' instructions, said it should be used.

-> It was a bad decision. It was equivalent to throw out your safe master key. There is a much better method to avoid the choice between multiple accounts.

I don't even have a Director. Password, or a password to the Standard user account.

-> You had an admin password when your first install Windows.

I'd rather not have the choice of Auditors when Windows opens.

-> It takes 30 seconds to remove this choice, without loss of the admin account.

Some seek to make changes to the registry.

-> Hacking the registry does not restore your account admin. 'Fix It' will not fix it either.

Should I re - load the Windows program and do something else?

-> Your first step must be to determine what accounts you have and whether they are active. It is done as follows:

    1. Mark the first line of code below with your mouse, then press Ctrl + C to copy it.
    2. Click the Start button, press Ctrl + V to paste the code in the run box, and then press ENTER.
    3. Marks of the second line of code below with your mouse, then press Ctrl + C to copy it.
    4. Click the Start button, press Ctrl + V to paste the code in the run box, and then press ENTER.
    5. Open the desktop Accounts.txt file, then copy & paste its contents into your answer.

    cmd.exe /c users > '% userprofile%\Desktop\Accounts.txt '.

    cmd.exe /c net localgroup administrators > '% userprofile%\Desktop\Accounts.txt '.

  • How to disable the drop-in by a "standard user" in Windows Vista

I use Windows Vista and I have a standard user account. The Welcome Center appears each time I have windows to connect.  I uncheck the box in the lower left corner in the visitor centre, but it does not work.  He always keeps showing upwards. Also, I try to use regedit to remove the entry in the race, but surprisingly I was not allowed to delete the entry because I'm a standard user. So please tell me how to disable the reception centre for a standard user.

    Thank you very much.
    Jacky

    Hello Jackyhn,

You can make a registry change using the following key:

Method 1: Go to the Windows Vista registry editor

To disable Windows Vista Welcome Center with editing the registry:

    • Type regedit in Windows Vista start menu search box.
    • Highlight:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion, Run.
    • Right-click on the WindowsWelcomeCenter key and select Delete.
      Reboot your system.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

If please reply back and let us know if this suggestion has helped.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn

  • How can I get Flash working under 'Standard user' (IE9, Windows 7 x 64)?

I have a very irritating problem that I can't find someone to help me with.

In Internet Explorer 8 (and now IE9), I can see fine videos flash (Youtube, Hulu, etc.).  However, when it comes to flash video to youtube integrated on various Web sites, all I get is white box where the video would be.  However, if I connect via my account to administrator user on Windows 7 and launch IE, the embedded video plays very well.  This problem is present in both browsers the 32-bit and 64-bit.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to make it work with my standard user account.  I don't want to go back to my administrator account for security reasons.  Let me tell you what I've done so far:

    (1) uninstalled all Flashplayers using the uninstall tool as mentioned in other articles.

    (2) reinstalled by using the option 'run as administrator '.

    (3) using a slightly older version of Adobe Flash, to rule out the possibility of problems with their latest version.

    (4) Ran System File Checker utility

    I'm ideas... Please help.

    Thank you very much!!

    Under global settings (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.htm l), check «allow Flash 3 rd-party content...» ».

  • Standard user

Whenever I log onto the computer as a standard user on Windows 7 it disconnects me as soon as I put the correct password without even seeing the office. How to operate?

    Hi Roman,

To fix your problem, you can do the following to isolate the problem.

    1. Create a new Standard user profile.
    2. Create a new administrator user profile.
    3. If confirmed that two new user profiles work properly, proceed as shown on this link for further troubleshooting.

Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards.

  • Satellite L40-139 - need driver Windows XP Home edition for 'ethernet '.

Please can you send me the link to Satellite L40 ethernet control model of laptop for Windows XP Home edition?

    Hello

Satellite L40-139 belongs to the PSL40E series. Am I wrong?
You can check the serial number of your laptop. It should be placed somewhere at the bottom of the unit. Check all labels.

Anyway, the Toshiba driver European page doesn't provide XP drivers for this series at this time. Seems you have to wait a bit until all pilots to be released!

For the only moment that two versions of the BIOS for L40 PSL40E if released.
The BIOS must be updated to the XP version, if you want to use XP on this laptop.

By the way; It seems that this series is supported by the Base map - TX Ethernet Realtek 10/100.
Then you can try the LAN driver from the site Web of Realtek. Should also work.

  • The Windows 7 user account control settings does not open

    Hello

Someone knows a problem where a computer launches the application "change user account control settings?  We are dev work on multiple PCs and need to disable this feature.  Normally, I would run the UAC and just drag the bar down, but I can't even the application to load.  I even tried running: C:\Windows\System32\userAccountControlSetings.exe and it does nothing.

    Thank you
    Sean

Well, I was not able to understand why the window UAC doesn't appear, however, I managed to disable UAC via the local policy settings.  For reference purposes:

    1. Start > run > gpedit.msc
    2. Computer configuration > Windows settings > security settings > local policies > Security Options
    3. Then define:
    4. User account control: behavior of the guest of elevation for administrators in Admin Approval Mode – set its value toElevate without asking for confirmation.
    5. User account control: detect application installations and prompt for elevation - set its value todisabled.
    6. User account control: only elevate the UIAccess applications that are installed in secure locations - set its value todisabled.
    7. User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode - set its value todisabled.

  • Error message "unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator"when you set parental controls for a user account

Original title: user account with an effort of parental control

After logging in to my admin account, I created two user accounts for my children, set up parental controls for both that I created, when I tried to set up the third account that he would allow me to activate parental control. It seems that he is trying to load the screen to give me the parental control options then the window disappers and another small window appears saying "cannot make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator. I close the window, and then open the parental controls for other accounts, and they work very well, allows me the chance to change. I deleted the third account several times, making sure to create on behalf of others, just like I did the first two. Still no luck. Can I have only 3 total accounts? My administrator account and standard users 2.

How can I get a standard user account third with parental controls?

    Hello

Create a new user account and check if the problem persists, the problem does not persist in the new user account, then fix the damaged user account.

Create a user account (Windows Vista)

Screw a damaged profile (Windows Vista)

Check out the link below to check if the parental control is correctly defined

  • that allows standard users change ppp settings, removing UAC admin fast pwd to DPIscaling.exe

I am currently using windows vista ultimate 64-bit with an installed nvidia geforce 8800 gtx card. I'm the ADM on the machine, with the standards users who connect it. My account of adm does not have the problem. I'm trying to find a way to allow standard users on the machine to have the ability to change the ppp settings.

The path of the file is C:\Windows\System32\DpiScaling.exe

I tried to use the solution listed on this site: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=635

and used the Application Compatibility Toolkit.  I used a lot of different options, the 32-bit version, 64-bit, different boxes, without success. When you click right on the file properties and click on the Compatibility tab, it says:
Cannot be set on this program compatibility modes because it is part of the Windows version.

I have a standard users also granted full control of the executable, and if the logged-on user account, he got always invited him to enter the administrator credentials. I understand that this only gives the user access to the file and not what the file does.

I need to find a solution to allow standard users on the computer to change the DPI settings without the need of the admin password.  While looking for solutions here and on the site of regular microsoft (support.microsoft.com) support, all I could find are methods that disable the guests of UAC elevation and ways to disable UAC completely.    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7security/thread/0364515a-301e-47C5-AF99-39347b83c6b4-je don't want to do that.  I even tried and the standard user has always invited to enter an admin password.  I don't want to disable UAC or the guests of elevation, surprisingly these guests don't mind.   The computer is set to high resolution and need to continually change the DPI setting to enable the second monitor (my HDTV) text output in a format that is clear and correct.  The reason why we have change back is because the cursor of the mouse in the PC video games being played here on disappears when the DPI is set to what higher than normal / default. So before any game is played, the DPI settings in windows settings must be changed to the default / normal.

Since I was the user only administrator on the machine, I am concerned when other users would like to play their games. but can not, because I am not present.  I want to be the only Admin account on the machine.  Bad things tend to happen when I allow other users are administrators on the machine.

  • Cannot make changes to the parents control settings (Windows 7)

I've seen several comments regarding this same problem, but so far no solution.

I am the administrator, but I get an error when I try to access the parent on standard accounts control settings.  Now, what's even weirder, is that I am able to access ONE of the standard accounts, and there is nothing different between this account and others.

I have tried all the solutions already posted:

    -running 'services.msc' and the implementation of parent controls (which is said by the way, says "this service is a stub for of Windows Parental control feature that existed in Vista", which is strange, it's as if there's no 'Parental control' in Windows 7?);

-create a new administrator account via the control panel (in the case where my administrator account is corrupt), by restarting and trying to put Parental controls

    -create a new administrator account using the command prompt "net user administrator / Active: Yes";

-in the course of running "sfc/scannow".

    ANY OTHER IDEAS?

Did you you run regedit as an administrator? It is a common problem in trying just new values. This is done by right-clicking on the program and selecting "Run as Administrator". This allows you to write new values.

If you would like more information on this subject by me, read the last post on page 3 here:
If you have recently encountered this problem, I would recommend a system restore, and I explain the reasons in the tread above.
    I hope this helps!
  • I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account.

I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account. Now whenever I try to update or install "User Account Control" is constantly asking me to (type an administrator password, and then click OK). The problem is that I can't do this because OK is disabled (grayed out) and no place to type the admin password or the other. How to restore this administrator account or even to enable the local administrator account by default here?

If you have another administrator user account on your computer then log in and change the account to standard user for the administrator account.   If not, then follow the steps from the link and check if that helps: how to use system restore to log on Windows 7 or Windows Vista when you lose access to an account http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940765/en-us

  • How to configure Windows to allow the parameters and software downloads to appear in system and standard user administrator?

I HAD TO REINSTALL WINDOWS VISTA (SERVICE PACK 2) DUE TO A TROJAN HORSE THAT ATTACKED MY SYSTEM. I USED THE SUPPLIED RECOVERY DISCS SET WITH MY COMPUTER BECAUSE THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN PRE-LOADED AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED SOFTWARE FACTORY. WHEN I WAS SETTING UP USER ACCOUNTS, I CREATED THE ACCOUNT TO ADMINISTRATOR (WITH PASSWORD) AND A STANDARD USER ACCOUNT. WHEN I CHANGE THE SETTINGS IN MY COMPUTER IN EACH ACCOUNT, IT DOES NOT APPEAR THERE EITHER ACCOUNT. I DO CHANGES IN PARAMETERS OF EACH ACCOUNT INDIVIDUALLY. CAN I SET UP SO THAT WHEN I CHANGE THE SETTINGS, IT WILL DO THAT IN THE TWO ACCOUNTS? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

original title; HOW TO CONFIGURE WINDOWS TO ALLOW THE SETTINGS AND SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS APPEAR IN ADMIN SYSTEM AND STANDARD USER?

Most PC manufacturers who don't give you the disks give you a partition on your hard drive that contains the images of the disks so that you can burn yourself.  You should check out.

When you say "change settings in both accounts' exactly what are the parameters what do you mean?  It is normal that many Windows settings to be on a per user basis.  For example. the desktop background is a 'definition' which is completely independent for each user.  You cannot set up a wallpaper for a user and hope that it displays desktop of another user.

  • Limit the control panel and IE for the Standard user account

I'll set up a new computer for a 91 year old customer in a retirement home, who don't use the computer for e-mail and an occasional Wordpad document.  His son wants to put computer in place so that it cannot get to the Internet Explorer browser, or go to control panel, because he bumbles around the keyboard causing all sorts of problems requiring frequent service for me calls.

The operating system is Windows Vista Home BASIC, so gpedit.msc is not installed.  I have activated the system administrator account for my use when I am called to repair the computer and set the Standard user to user account.  The problem is that the only way I found to disable IE and the Control Panel causes them be turned off in BOTH accounts.  I wish I could disable them ONLY in the user account.

The only solution I found to disable the control panel is a registry hack in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current versionpolicies where I put a DWORD 32-bit "NoControlPanel" with a value of 1.  I tried to do that in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive, but it had no effect.  This kind of work, but there are two problems then; Mises_a_jour Windows 1) won't install and 2) when I have to go to work on the computer, I first change administrator user, then change the DWORD value to 0 and finally to restart the computer, causing additional assignments, lengthen my time at work.

Second, the only solution I could find to disable IE was in the default protrams Panel, which disables the administrator as well.

Can someone tell me if there is another way to achieve this, while IE and control panel are disabled only for the user?

Change the security to the IE executable rights? Remove 'Users', while you keep the administrator rights.

For control panel see 'Method Two' in this link:

Thanks for your response, but will not solve problem of this "gentleman". The object is not so much to limit internet access, as it should restrict access to programs.  He is 91 years old, has small hands and types rapidly with two fingers, but made many mistakes.  Disability is before everything to prevent clikety snap everywhere, because he creates sort of a zillion copies shortcuts of the webpage on his desk, until everything hangs and I have to go a push up on his mess. The same reason applies to the Contorl Panel.  We don't want it to be able to get to the Panel "printers."  When a document will not be printed for a reason, he go, dummy click around and created a bunch of copies of the printer, with a gazillian of documents clogged up in the queue of the coil.  I had to cclear up to 100 documents from the spool on 50 copies printer queue.  It's really an economic problem for his son.
