Titled as a mouse, touchpad cannot use two fingers to scroll.

Okay, so when I go into my control panel I can only see the parameters for a mouse and not a touchpad. I don't have a plug in the mouse for my laptop. For this reason I can't access all the parameters that would allow me to enable two finger scrolling. I use to be able to do it, but I got a new hard drive installed and now it won't let me. How can I get my computer to recognize my touchpad as a touchpad and enable two finger scrolling.

Visit the Web site for a company built your computer.  Find the drivers/downloads section and find your computer model.  Here, you can download the driver for the touchpad for her, and she will start work as a touchpad.

The reason why he is stopped after the new hard drive is simply because this driver touchpad bit has not been downloaded from the site again. After you get it, it will be good to go.

  • Computer laptop touchpad inversion of two fingers to scroll

Touchpad of my laptop allows two fingers to scroll, but it's counterintuitive, because when I shoot down, the screen scrolls upward, and when I push upwards, scrolls the screen to the bottom. Windows 7 Dell Latitude E6540

I don't have a Dell but, you may need to verify that you have the latest touchpad drivers supported for your PC. For example, see http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN294988/EN , which is for an E7240 E7440 3340, but it does not "for systems with Windows 7, the latest touchpad driver must be installed. Earlier versions of this driver Windows 7 do not include the directional adjustment'. So maybe it's the case for your E6540?

  • Two fingers to scroll and Pinch to Zoom do not work

Hello. I bought a brand new HP 4-1115dx this morning, and the two fingers to scroll/sleeve to zoom stopped working completely after 15 minutes of use.

I have twice now uninstalled the driver and re installed from site Web from HP, currently using v16.2.17.0 latest (available for my device).  I went into the settings of the Clickpad, provided two fingers to scroll and pinch to zoom are both checked and entered in the settings/transmission for each of these items and provided all the appropriate scroll options would be checked.  I also watched the synaptics on the toolbar icon, and 'disable gestures' is NOT checked.

When I turned on the computer for the first time, twofinger scroll and pinch to zoom in when selected by default and "scrolling" (which is a right mouse pad finger scrolling was NOT selected by default.  15 minutes after turning on the new device, I ticked 'scrolling' to see if I liked the right side of the touchpad scrolling better.  I have since failed to get the two fingers to scroll / pinch to zoom out (I've several times switched on / two fingers to scroll and the a finger right side touchpad "scroll".)

Help, please!  This isn't the end of the world for me, but a feature that does not work after 15 of owning a product makes me nervous for other features do not down the road!

    Thank you

    Steve

    Steve1234321,

It could be a problem with the synaptic software.

Go to control panel and uninstall the synaptic program.

Start-> Control Panel Type-> uninstaller-> right click and uninstall synaptic.

    If you restart, go ahead.

    Now lift the Recovery Manager

Go to start-> type of recovery

You should see the Recovery Manager in the list

Open the Recovery Manager, and then click on software and driver re install

Go through the list and find synaptic and reinstall.

It is said synaptic driver, but the program is with the driver.

  • Two fingers to scroll has stopped working in Windows 8

Earlier today, I started having a problem with some of my touchpad - two fingers scrolling gestures and the flick of three fingers do not work anymore, even if they worked perfectly well this morning. I tried to update the drivers, reinstall, and roll them back as far as possible, but nothing seems to fix. Curiously, however, multitouch gestures work, like the tap with two fingers to produce a "right-click" the gestures of vertical and lateral scan left/right also work correctly. I checked my Synaptics options and actions that do not work are always enabled.

I searched everywhere for a solution to this problem, but I can't find an answer anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an Asus laptop and it worked for me when nothing else. You will need to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the so-called "Asus Smart gesture...

    Here's how...

    1) first of all, in your control panel, find the box "uninstall programs".

    (2) search "Asus Smart gesture" and uninstall that.

    (3) If your computer to restart after that, fine. If this isn't the case, very well.

    (4) now, you will have to go on the site of Asus here:

    http://support.ASUS.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=smart+gesture

Then select your operating system (probably 8.1 64-bit, but maybe you're still on 8.0 32-bit or 64 - bit... you know)

    (5) then click on "Touchpad" to go to the download area. Then click on the download single called WAY 'Global' selection (a Word). Download, save, run, install. If you have problems, because it is a compressed file, locate the application "Setup" (a Word) rather than the longer application called 'SetupTPDriver '.

    (6) now, reboot your computer. Your intelligent actions do not immediately work the bat after reboot. So he give a lot of 45, 60 or 90 seconds after the restart (something end there) and then you should notice that two fingers scrolling works again.

I hope this works for some Asus soulmate out there. It worked for me. I had updated my OS 8.1 Pro 8.1, and this particular feature had simply stopped working for me.

  • Cannot use two monitors.

Original title: double monitors - we're missing!

I have two monitors running on Win7 which worked very well.  All of a sudden the display on what was my main screen erased.  I tried to reinstall the monitor; spend the 2 monitors to test the VGA adapter (both monitors work), etc.  Nothing has worked.  So, I reinstalled the driver for the VGA card.  Hop, my screen on the 2nd monitor is back... until the computer went to sleep, or even when the monitors sleep.  Once the monitor turns off (whatever it is, or if I turn it on manually off & turn), it cannot be detected.  He comes back if I restart, but it's a huge time drain if I get called there long enough for the monitors to cut or the computer to sleep.  I currently have both to "never", but they stop even if they have no value.  This used to happen, but I don't know why it's happening now.  Help, please!

  • Firefox 8 on Windows 7 (64) Synaptics touchpad gesture with two fingers scrolling does not work. Works in any other program.

UI.trackpoint_hack. Enabled = 1 does not help. All the Plugins and drivers (Synaptics) up to date. Samsung 900x3a. Slider modifies the icon when running two finger gesture but not scroll. No PDF not loaded. No other open tab. When you load in the tab PDF PDF scrolls with the gesture. Same problem in Thunderbird 8. Reason to use Chrome as standard browser.

I solved this problem with this registry setting:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh]
    "UseScrollCursor" = DWORD: 00000000

You could do it faster with by downloading and running this file: ScollingFix.reg (watch out, click on the link just! there are ads)

IT disables the small view icon on the cursor. Bad driver from Synaptics...

  • Using the method of the cushion two fingers to scroll

I just bought a HP dv7t laptop and cannot scroll regularly using the method of the buffer 2 fingers.  This is a new laptop.  Need help because it drives me crazy... Ralph

Called HP support and they tried to solve the problem to play around with all the settings, nothing worked.  I decided that I wanted a replacement and they agreed, BUT it was going to cost me another $137 because the price had increased.  Needless to say I was angry, and he went out on the tech rep.  Escallated Manager and after reminding them that this order has indicated very clearly "Returns or exchanges of this product will be accepted until 21 days after childbirth' and it was 1 day after childbirth and that it would be illegal to deny the full exchange for $ 0 they caved.  However; they would not place the order before receiving the defective pc.  Enough said for their support.  I have no idea how they keep their customers with these idiots or stupid policies.  The next day, I returned the pc through their shipping prepaid by e-mail label.  That evening, I received notification that the order has been placed at $ 0 charge with the date of delivery of January 27, including 2 delivery day (it was nice because it is normally 5-7 business days).

Hope this new pc is against any defect... Ralph

  • Two fingers to scroll is not working - HP Envy x 2

He stopped all work all of a sudden. Which happened a few times, but the slip of the keyboard screen fix usually, but not this time.

Went to the Synaptics properties and disabled and re-enabled the scroll option and it still didn't fix it.

I even uninstalled the pad touch and restarted the couputer thing and it still does not work.

Have also downloaded the lastes Synaptic drivers and install, but it still does not work.

Not sure that the problem might be such that it is activated in synaptic properties and should by all means work. Could be hardware, but surely not what im thinking.

Anyone had this problem before? Signs obvious fix im missing?

Whatever actually, I thought about it from another forum.

Had synaptics to uninstall the original menu uninstall on windows, restart and then re install from the Recovery Manager. Works fine now.

  • two fingers of y510p elan touchpad right click problem.

Hi, I recently bought a Lenovo Y510p, and the touchpad is using software MOMENTUM. However, by default, it seems not to allow you to use two fingers to type to right click, or three for middle click.

After digging the question, I discovered you can make some changes by installing the driver Asus Elantech 11.5.0.9 to allow you to see a lot more options in the Control Panel, and I've changed with success the Swapping and 3 functions touch 4 fingers.

Despite this, I am fighting to change the tap water double finger.

Is anyone able to help me with this issue?

    Thank you very much.

mine solved it by installing the driver Asus Elantech 11.5.0.9. It will give same much u of other features also.
