In addition, Version 7.0 includes SNMPv2 MIB (RFC 1907) and the IF - MIB (RFC 1573 and 2233) and the Cisco IPSec Monitoring MIB Flow, giving visibility full VPN statistical flow tunnel uptime, bytes/packet transferred, and much more.

• TMS - SNMP Traphost endpoint address

  I see the address field traphost SNTP under the view 'Settings' for a C-Series, EX, E20 end points that are managed by TMS?  Is it acceptable to leave this field blank or does it contain IP address or DNS of TMS, jointly with the SNTP parameters on the endpoint itself?

  Hi Patrick, for endpoints TMS Cisco uses SNMP to communicate with, the Traphost IP address is also defined. This is done automatically on all systems if management settings apply to systems is enabled in the network settings > Service TMS Cisco component.

  OK, I suggest you enable the SNMP agent on unrestricted IP switch, IE replace command:

   snmp-server community MyC0mmun1ty ro 192.168.10.25 view Default

  with the command:

   snmp-server community MyC0mmun1ty ro view Default

  and again snmpwalk. If it will work now, your SNMP to Cacti server applications are sourcing from another IP than 192.168.10.25 (your Cacti server configured several IP?).

• C220M3 - implementation of MMIC SNMP

  I'm trying to hardware monitoring of the UCS (mainly energy and temperature) using the agent running on the Council MMIC SNMP.

  I can * sometimes * reading MIB values (. iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.9.14.1.2.1 for example), but then the SNMP agent is suspended and can not return all values under the private branch. (back to the top of the three working example:. iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.4.0)

  Looking at the CIMC log, I see that the SNMP agent is crash and reboot:

  BMC:SNMP - subagentd:7347 NET-SNMP version 5.5 AgentX subagent connected

  Basically, I can do a foot or a get, retrieve the values and wait for the agent to restart...

  I tried to capture the packets when the officer broke down. I see a response generated from the MMIC IP with a status of "No Such Object". It seems that the basic SNMP daemon still works, but the link to the MMIC followed material broken.

  I'm on firmware 1.5 (1 d)

  Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  I have seen this before and that the developers have said is to "use the MMIC as the first surveillance tool", because you can see that connected the fault correctly.

  Could you please open a Service request so that the TAC can see what is happening, explain and possibly open a bug for that?  Otherwise, it will be difficult for cause us to fix it, if the customer who must deal only not in contact with us, without doubt that the problem will not be heard, so a case of TAC is the best option.

  'public' solves it.  So my advice: 'public' set with an ACL restricting EHT nodes only.

• TMS server and control the VCS

  Hello

  We have a customer's request if they can change the usename (admin) of control VCS in the TMS server. They don't want to purge the VCS of TMS server control, because they still need all the TMS Server historical reports. Basiaclly, they won't use the username: admin more to managing TMS server. They can create another account in the control of VCS with admnin rights, but how they change in the SMT server without purge from the TMS server.

  In the server of TMS, the VCS control connections tab, there is a place to change the password. but no place the username change.

  TMS software version: 13.1.2

  VCS Control version: 7.0.1

  Note: I noticed that this option is available on the server SMT version 14.2.

  Using a different name that 'admin' to manage the VCS was introduced in TMS 14.1 (CSCuc88048). Not even bleed and add will help them, I'm afraid!

  Your client is upgraded if they want to use a different user name.

• TMS Migration to new server

  I'm moving our TMS existing 13.2.2 to a new server. One of the first steps is to copy the TMS encryption key. The instructions for doing this are: TMS Tools/Security Settings/encryption code. My problem is that when I open the TMS tools I don't have an option to select security settings. Is this something that is not available in article 13.2.2. If so, how do I find my current 13.2.2 encryption key

  I intend to upgrade to 14.X once the TMS existing 13.2.2 is moved.

  Looking through the TMS 13.2.2 Release Notes, the bottom of pg 3, they removed the option key encryption tools TMS.  Looking at the details of the CSCua72784bug, it is said:

  Encryption keys are not used by Cisco TMS until version 14. The option has no effect in 13.2.x and can be ignored.

  So that you can likely TMS 14.x upgrade and then go through the process of encryption key during the installation.

• CSV file for importing

  I don't know if this has been discussed, but the import file function is actually a lot of work. I mean, I can create a CSV file of my IP addresses by the export of a third party monitoring tool, but I can't get the SN with her. Why this 'feature' cannot be done with just the IPS without SN? After all, the seed router discovery feature gets the serial number for devices; Why do we need SN under the import?

  Go to management > discover and manage devices

  Select the first option 'discovery by known IP addresses '.

  Copy the IP addresses column in Excel

  Click on the Add button

  Click on 'Next', change your settings to the appropriate SNMP version and click "Finish".

  You can also define a list of access allowing for any snmp and connect the access list which will have a counter that increments.

  There is no such thing as research in the papers of the ACS to know how often snmp has been consulted and what ip address for the simple reason that the authorization does not apply to the snmp.

• VCS update X5.1.1 to X7.2.2

  Hi all

  We need upgarde our client VCS-E and VCS - C of X5.1.1 to X7.2.2. Read the Release Notes, I found that I must first be upgraded to X5.2 then X7.2.2. The first update do not require unlocking new keys, but for the second we need new keys for unlocking.  There is also a TMS 12.6 used to supply.

  Can you please indicate confirm the steps above X5.1.1 X5.2 to X7.2.2 upgrade? for VCS-E and VCS - C?

  I also saw a note comment about covers them authentication.  apparently once upgrade is all areas and subareas (except the default Zone) authentication is set to "treat as authenticated.  As no auth is activate now.  Does this mean I have to turn it off once completed upgarde?

  Finally can you tell me how long it takes to do?  As I will need to plan this work out of opening hours.

  First thing is that I will not go in one fell swoop. You can go in the parts actually.

  -If you have any installation of replication between MSDS and stood then you turn off gracefully.

  -go ahead and upgrade to x5.2 VCS and take a backup for VCS and VCS-E time.

  -go and upgrade to x6.1 then x7.2.2,

  consult the Notes version of VCS for more details.

  I also suggest you to install the TMS last version 14.3 and switch mode provisioning TMS extension if you previously active provisioning.

  Yes, this is true for a minor update like 5.1 to 5.2 key would be same and for major update, you need to separate key release.

  come to part of authentication, the areas are defined on ' treat as authenticated "when you upgrade is because the upgrade of VCS is troubled not customer enviornment.

  areas have three authentication supported "do not verify the credentials", 'powers of audit', & 'treat as authenticated.

  treat as authenticated is the safest option at all than VCS in this case be sure that what cross is an authentic asks and proceed to demand. Other options that might hinder the peformance.

  to upgrade a server takes 20 min but I will propose you to take a good break and plan ahead.

• WCS couldn't handle WLC after software update WLC

  Hi all

  My version of WCS is 6.0.181.0 and my AIR-WLC4404-100-K9 2 running on a very old version of 4.2.61.0. I've decided to update the IOS on the WLCs. All the upgrade were made on the WLCs. First of all, I upgraded the to 5.1.151.0. After the level and restart, the WCS showed always accessible for the WLCs. Then, I upgraded the IOS at 5.2.157.0. After the upgrade and reboot, WCS is no longer sees the WLC and showed inaccessible for the WLCs. However, I could always directly log in the WLCs and updated successfully upgraded to the latest version 7.0.98.0.

  Now the WCS, when I try to click on the WLCs, it always gives me this message "no response from the device, check communities SNMP, version or a network for questions." I checked the SNMP communities and the network with the only left version.

  My question is, can WCS with version 6.0.181.0 manage WLC 4404 with version 5.2.157.0 and higher?

  The recommendation is that the WCS is always a version equal or greater to the WLC

• Can not handle the ASA inside the interface of Site to Site VPN

  Hi all

  I was deploying new site to site between ASA 8.0 (HQ) and ASA 8.4 (branch). Everything works fine but I have a problem on the ASA-reach remote that I can't manage branch ASA with inside the interface IP address.

  My setup on remote ASA

  management-access inside

  ICMP allow any inside

  SSH 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 inside

  SNMP-server host inside 10.0.1.101 communitry test-snmp version 2 c

  My Test

  -ping of the AC for inside the interface of remote ASA

  • Client time-out see demand
  • When debug icmp on ASA remote then ASA show only ICMP request to HQ no response back from remote ASA

  I'm not sure whether it's a bug on ASA 8.4 or not because I can manage a remote other ASA what version 8.0 software HQ

  Do not know what 8.4 version you use, but it is broken in the 8.4 (2), I stumbled upon the upgrade from same problem. SSH and ASDM will not connect through a VPN L2L interface inside. This worked well in 8.4 (1).

• Failure of the event: Purge expired log files

  Since the last update of the TMS to version 14.2.2.

  I got the following error every morning.

  "The event has not ended. Details: you try to access a subdirectory that is inside a web site from a SafeLocation that does not allow access to system files web site. »

  Does anyone have the same error? How can I fix it?

  This could be linked to the "ftp" being civic record. For example the software (software endpoint) directory may be located outside the directory wwwTMS. This is a requirement now to have the directories accessible from the web in the folder wwwTMS. Do you store the software outside of this folder and that's the file ON WHAT TMS points?
