TMS supports always on SQL?

According to the title of the thread, can someone tell me if the TMS supports the SQL feature "always there"?

I don't know much, but our DB guys want to know.

My understanding is that the "Always On" function is part of SQL 2012 and 2014 SQL.

TMS is currently only supported on SQL 2005 or SQL 2008 (but supports for 2005 is to be removed in a future version of TMS - see the release notes for the latest version).

  • Replica groups of ' Always on ' SQL Server 2012 - limited to 2 knots on VMWare?

    VMWare KB1037959 provides instructions for Microsoft clustering on VMWare, but does not have SQL Server replica groups cover 2012 "Always on."

    This KB article sets a limit of 2-node MSCS clusters, but also indicates that "the SQL mirror effect is not by VMware to be a clustering solution. VMware supports fully mirroring SQL on vSphere with no specific restrictions. »

    In SQL, 2012 replica groups are a combination of failover Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) monitor and SQL database mirroring.  Yo I have to install the 'Fail on Microsoft Cluster' role to implement the SQL replica groups, master didn't have any shared disks.

    I was not able to find guidance on the use of groups of replica SQL 2012 on VMWare.  I hope that it is supported without restriction (as long as you do not use a shared quorum disk), but a strict interpretation of the KB1037959 leads to a limitation of two nodes.

    Can anyone shed more light on this?

    Now the last row of the first table lists:

    Availability of AlwaysOn SQL group Yes Yes1 Yes Yes Even OS/app Yes Yes Yes Yes N/A N/A

    Perhaps this was added recently.

  • TMS support for SQL (standard/express) 2012

    Is there a timetable yet for 2012 SQL support for MSDS?  I have a situation where he would have preferred to use SQL 2012 rather than 2008.

    That said, someone has actually tried it and if yes are there any problems or "traps"?

    I guess while I'm, what about Windows Server 2012 support?

  • For TMS Win2008 Server and SQL Server client access licenses?

    Where, I read that the TMSXE interface requires a CAL on the Exchange Server.  What I can't seem to locate is all information about client access licenses how are required to Win2008 R2 Server Standard Edition and SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard.  Is there a reference document that I'm missing with this information.  It seems that according to Microsofts definitions, you might need a CAL by user device and/or managed web that connects to the web interface.

    Can someone clarify the situation?

    Hello world

    So should put the closure of this thread, I have now clarified what follows when it comes to TMS and MS licenses:

    Users and administrators to connect to TMS authenticate AD, the server that hosts the TMS must be allowed to support authenticated connections. Don't authenticate TMS Managed/configure with AD devices via the web server. As a result, and as managed devices does not authenticate against IIS with AD login, these types of connections don't require licenses. Only users who connect to the Web site would be.

    The issue of Exchange and SQL are similar, that is, authenticated connections how are made?

    Of MSDS, all connections to SQL server use the same authenticated account, by default uses a SQL login.  Web site users are not authenticated to SQL Server. Therefore, and in the case of an external SQL Server, this would be equal to one.

    When communicating with Exchange, all connections are through a unique service account. Created for managed systems the mailboxes are not connected by users or MSDS for normal operation. As a result, and as with an external SQL Server, this would be also equal to one.

    Hope that clarifies completely now

  • TMS 13.2.2 - SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 migration

    I want to confirm (as it already has a few posts on this topic) SQL2005 to SQL2008 db migration does not require all reinstalls / actions on the demand side.

    • We have TMS 13.2.2 slot with remote DB in SQL2005.
    • Our team of DB migrate all DB to SQL 2008 (and SQL2012 - which is not supported by TMS)
    • We want to confirm if DB team to migrate our database for 2008 (correct migration without change of name, etc) that TMS will continue to work without intervention of application of TMS. I mean by intervention without having to reinstall / install new packages on MSDS.

    I saw post about SQL2008 in SQL2005 express migration - but the answer also includes install again TMS...

    Hi Pawel,

    You will not have to uninstall and reinstall of TMS, you just need to use TMS tools has therefore at the point of application of TMS on the new external and instance SQL Server where db (tmsng) TMS will be. And as usual, you will need a user who, as appropriate for the SQL and the PB TMS (by documentation TMS - doc Install) access.

  • Meeting of TMS confirm always watch the video address

    Hi all

    I'm forcing the MSDS to show the SIP URI for Dial-In participants all the time in the meeting invite. The URI is in the mail, if I add a particpiant Dial-In or the connection mode is set to BBFRR. If set to auto connect, this address is not displayed.

    We are booking meetings through TMSXE, is not possible to add participants to access remote (unfortunatetly).

    Is it possible to automatically add all (ISDN, H323, SIP) Dial In options?

    Kind regards
    Paul

    TMS 14.5 comes out, TMS now provides remote access an address in the invite booking and does not rely on a dial - in to add to the Conference differently than before. I also confirmed that it works with the driver as well!

    TMS 14.5 additional:

    Access to addresses in the booking confirmation emails

    Booking confirmation email include now always dial the numbers, regardless of if the participants are planned to compose in the Conference. For multi-point conferences hosted on an external bridge, dial the numbers up to the bridge for all protocols used are included. For calls point to point or hosted on an endpoint with embedded multisite, addresses of all participants are included.

  • Moving 14.3 of TMS in the database SQL external - someone did he do?

    After copying the SQL database on our existing MSDS database is there anything else I would do other than using the TMS to point to the new database of tools or is it?

    I'm looking for someone who has done this kind of right move forward.

    Thank you!

    We did pretty well what you're asking, though slightly differently, as we moved from one external SQL Server to another... but the process is the same.

    (1) stop the TMS/IIS services

    (2) copy your database to the new server

    (3) use the tools of TMS where from the TMS is looking.

    (4) return to the MSD/IIS.

  • Cf11 - Type is not supported by this SQL driver based ORM Update

    We test on one of our web applications in CF11.

    We have a feature of updated base of entity ORM that retrieves an object individually called several setters and then registers the entity inside a transaction in cfscript. We are working with Microsoft SQL Standard 2012 edition. It worked under CF9 and CF10.

    Under CF11, we get the following error:

    Error: An exception occurred when the validation of the transaction. The main cause of this exception is: coldfusion.orm.hibernate.HibernateSessionException: type [macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] specified SQL is not supported by this driver...

    The line of code is throwing the error, it's what is the last line in the transaction {} block.

    Follows the SQL running. This is a great Basic. What happens here?

    The problem is that CF11 uses a version of hibernation in the Boolean fields that contain a null values are tapped in MS SQL. It is in the release notes and Adobe has shown no indication that they plan to update Hibernate in CF11 to fix. I added a vote for the bug:

    Bug #3518916 - the attempt to insert Null into primitive Boolean type throws error for SQLServer

    The solution is to replace the ormtype = "boolean" with ormtype = "numeric_boolean". I have not tried that we had held off the coast in the hope they would patch to a later version of Hibernate, but no luck so far.

  • No support for oracle sql functions

    Hi all

    Please can someone explain why the B-tree indexes are not capable of supporting SQL queries using the built-in functions of Oracle.

    We have indexes of tree b on account_no column.

    Select * from test_table where account_no = 11005208

    the above query use the index on account_no

    Select * from test_table where superior (account_no) = 11005208

    But this query does not use the index on the account_no, going for the full table scan.

    My question here is account_no is the numeric data type.
    Then, there is no difference between the data in the columns account_no and upper (account_no) column data, so why he does not use index when using sql functions in an sql query?

    Hello

    If you apply the upper function, Oracle implicitly converts its argument to a string, so your query is actually upper (to_char (account_no)).
    There is none HAVE fully functional in the optimizer and you do not expect to know everything and do all the conclusions that a human being can do. Why should Oracle re - write this type of query analysis the data type of the columns and features when it seems more natural programmer write a correct query (without capital letters in this example) or, if necessary, create an index based on a function?

  • SQL logical support for pl/sql block

    Hi all
    I have need of your suggestions and comments for the below question:

    I have two tables: table A and table b.

    Table has two columns as id and charges:

    Counties of ID
    -------------------------
    99 10
    13 999
    9999 7

    Table B has two columns Id and stopped:

    Order of identification
    _______________
    99 1
    2 999
    3 9999

    We need update of the order in the Table B such that Id with the highest number in table A stopped as 1 in the table B and it continue to increase enforcement for other Ids based on reducing the counts in table A. It will be like a job serving daily and search counts in table A and update the order in table B, according to her.
    It seems simple, but I don't get it. Please help me on this by writing a PL/SQL block.
    I'd really appreciate all your comments and your responses.

    Concerning
    Dev

    Hello

    Here's a way to do it:

    MERGE INTO     stat     dst
    USING (
         SELECT       s.id
         ,       ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( ORDER BY SUM (m.counts)
                                        DESC
                                  NULLS LAST
                             )     AS orders
         FROM             stat     s
         LEFT OUTER JOIN  main     m  ON  s.id  = m.id
         GROUP BY  s.id
          )               src
    ON     (src.id     = dst.id)
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    SET     dst.orders     = src.orders
    ;

    As you can see, it is similar to the solution to your original problem.
    In the original problem, id in the table (primary) source was unique; now, it is not, and we are interested in the SUM of all values of counts, so we can use GROUP BY and the SUM aggregate function. When used in the same query, aggregation (such as the SUM above) functions are calculated before analytical functions (for example, ROW_NUMBER), so the aggregate functions can be nested within analytical functions.
    The big change is that now the subquery source produces a line for each stat line, or not this ID exists in the hand, and he ignores any ID at hand which does not exist in stat, using an outer join. "stat LEFT OUTER JOIN main" means that all ranks of stat will appear in the results, even if there is no game in hand, but the bottom lines will be in the results only if they have a match in the stat.
    ROW_NUMBER assigns unique, coinsectuive whole, exactly as you requested. If there is a tie (two or more ID having exactly the same SUM (account)) then ROW_NUMBER will assign numbers separate, consecutive lines. It will be arbitrary in what id receives the lower number.

    When I pass p_deptno = 30 and run code below, the refcursor returns the rows. But when I pass the dpetno = null, then it moves to the State if p_job is not null and an error. Can someone help me please in this debug code.
    declare
    p_deptno number:=null;
    p_job varchar2(30):='SALESMAN';
    v_sql varchar2(4000);
    l_ename varchar2(30);

      TYPE my_cursor IS REF CURSOR;
      RC my_cursor;

    begin
      v_sql := 'select ename

      if p_deptno is not null then
        v_sql := v_sql||' AND deptno='||p_deptno;
      else
        if p_job is not null then
          v_sql := v_sql||' AND job='||p_job;
        end if;
      end if;

      OPEN RC FOR v_sql;
      LOOP
        FETCH RC INTO l_ename;
        EXIT WHEN RC%NOTFOUND;
        dbms_output.put_line(l_ename);
      END LOOP;
      CLOSE RC;
    END;
    Thank you.

    Check your quote:

    SQL> declare
    p_deptno number:=null;
    p_job varchar2(30):='SALESMAN';
    v_sql varchar2(4000);
    l_ename varchar2(30);

      type my_cursor is ref cursor;
      rc my_cursor;

    begin
      v_sql := 'select ename
                from emp
               where 1=1';

      if p_deptno is not null then
        v_sql := v_sql||' AND deptno='||p_deptno;
      else
        if p_job is not null then
          v_sql := v_sql||' AND job='''||p_job||'''';
        end if;
      end if;

      open rc for v_sql;
      loop
        fetch rc into l_ename;
        exit when rc%notfound;
        dbms_output.put_line(l_ename);
      end loop;
      close rc;
    end;

  • Keep the help and support window always on top

    It's amazing to me the problem is often to find information to help on a simple topics in Microsoft Help and Support.  For example, as new Vista, I spent over an hour looking for the Protocol parameters to keep my window help and Support, always on top while I'm trying to follow his instructions on a topic.  All the variations of 'always help and support window always on top' I used, in the help on the computer, offline were in vain.

    So, can someone answer for me I do this?

    Hello

    1. you try to set this option on any particular application or with Microsoft word?

    If you try to set this on Microsoft word, you can read the following article and check if it helps:

    http://Office.Microsoft.com/en-us/Word-help/work-with-the-Help-window-HA010062279.aspx

    If you need additional support regarding keeping this option in Office programs, you can post your request in the bodies of the Office.

  • vWorkspace 8.6.1, flyway SQL support

    Hi, we expect update 8.0.1 for 8.6.1 vWorkspace farms. Data bases of management currently operates on a 2008 R2 SQL and must migrate to a SQL to 2014. Unfortunately vWorkspace 8.6.1 does not officially support 2008 R2 SQL. I would have preferred to move databases in a separate step before updating to vWorkspace 8.6.1

    My questions because I need a SQL migration path taken in charge:

    VWorkspace 8.0.1 supports a SQL 2014 or do I have to install temporary one 2012 SQL Express, upgrade to vWorkspace 8.6.1 and move the database after until 2014 SQL?

    Hello

    For more details on how to move towards 2012, see here there is an attached doc that details the steps.

    Thank you, Andrew
