To install Win 7 64 bit on Windows preinstalled 8 64-bit
Hey...!
After searching a lot on Google, had no answer.
and decided to finally seek the expertise of HP
This is my first post,
I bought "HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b001ee' who earn 8 x 64 preinstalled.
But I want to install Win 7 x 64 on it.
Issues related to the:
1 (A). Is it possible to install Win 7 x 64 on pre installed Win 8 x 64... ?
If Yes, then how? (Please provide the complete procedure, as I have tried a lot of google, but did not work for me)
1 (B). If Question 1(a) is resolved, so where can I get drivers for Win 7 x 64?
2 (A). If Question 1 is resolved, so I can reinstall my Win 8 x 64? (which came preinstalled HP)?
If Yes, then how?
Note: I have a drive (D:\) named as RECOVERY having total size 17.2 GB but only 2.14 GB free space. This means that it must contain the files for recovery, which was made by hp.
2B. If Question 2(a) is resolved, then where I can get drivers for win 8 x 64?
Waiting for your suggested... solutions!
Thank you.. !

Sorry to hear that... the system should have been on completely to complete the recovery process. When the recovery process has crashed in the Middle, there are now three options.
1. refer to the following link and if all the troubleshooting steps helps to boost the recovery:
HP PC - troubleshooting problems of recovery System (Windows 8)
2. try to start the system and perform a recovery using the recovery partition and restore the system to factory settings by following the steps in the following link:
HP computers - running a HP System Recovery (Windows 8)
3 Tha final option is to order a USB HP recovery image and perform recovery to restore the system to factory settings. This is possible by contacting HP Technical Support.

Hello
is it possible to install WIN 7 32 bit on a Qosmio X 500 167
Where can I get the drivers?Thank you
Hello
Of course you can install Windows 7 on this laptop why not?
Even if Win 7 32-bit drivers are not released on the European driver Toshiba page, you could install this OS.
Most devices use the same drivers. For example, you can check out 32-bit drivers for X 300 series.
If you can check as well

EliteBook 750 G2: Install Win 7 64-bit DVD?
OK, this is crazy, but... How to install Win 7 64 bit from the HP operating system disk? My EliteBook is not a built-in DVD player and I can't boot from my USB DVD drive in the computer. When I go into the boot with the DVD drive plugged menu, the only startup options are 'hard drive' and 'ethernet '.
There is a setup.exe file on the disk that gives me an error when I double click on it.
I have to enter the BIOS and change something?
Is there another way to install the OS?
Thank you very much!

Hello:
There are a couple of BIOS settings, you will need to change in order to install and run W7.
There are also some difficulties starting from USB3 ports.
In the BIOS, you will have to enable the legacy mode and disable secure boot (legacy mode activation can disable secure boot), in order to install and run W7.
For USB3 ports, see if there is a BIOS setting to have USB3 ports emulate usb ports 2 (or an Auto setting).
If there is not, unfortunately, I don't know what the problem is about why you cannot start USB ports.

Problem installing WIN 7 64 bit on a Vostro V131 with SSD
Hello everyone,
I just got my new Vostro V 131 with i5 2430 M, 4 GB RAM, HD3000 graphics and standard 500 GB HARD drive!
I already had a new OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB SSD and wanted to change it against the bed on the HARD drive.
I put a boot Win 7 64 bit with SP1 on a USB key and started the system. I am able to choose my language setting and then click the button "Start installation". And this is the mess: Setup starts, then then tells me I need to install other drivers. I can't choose anything else but a reader where these drivers. So I downloaded the SATA (AHCI) support drivers for my controller from DELL. They are recodnized by the system as drivers and checked, but I just go back to the window that says Add. the drivers are needed. The SSD is recognized in BIOS and SATA set to AHCI. I was able to format and part with the victory included tools/recovery Partition.
OK, I checked for allmost everything, which could cause such problems. SSD firmeware is updated, set BIOS to update (as mentioned, SSDS is shown correctly). I put the SSD drive on an external HARD drive enclosure, and it has been shown in Windows as a normal USB storage device.
Everything I checked was correct, the SSD is identified and shown correct instead of the Win7 installation menu.
I am at the end of my ideas and hope that one of you can help out me!
Thank you so far...
Flo
I discovered what caused all this trouble ;-)
It was the USB port used! I don't know why, but the USB 3 port starts the installation and then want additional drivers! I swapped the USB 2 port and everything worked fine. ;-)
But thanks for the answer! Also, I don't have a DVD player ;-) If this would not have worked.

NB550D - best way to install Win 7 64-bit and 64-bit drivers
Hello
I improved my NB550D to Windows7 Home Premium and installed 4 GB of RAM.
This works much better, but want to go further and make a Windows7 Ultimate _64bit_ _clean install_ in order to take full advantage of theupgrade in RAM.My question is: what should I do about the Toshiba drivers for 64-bit? I guess I'm going to need some?
What is the best way to go about the upgrade - any help will be appreciated! : D
If you need to switch to Win 7 64 bit, then you need some Win 7 64 bit drivers.
On the European driver Toshiba page, I could find some 64-bit drivers, but it seems that not all Toshiba for Win 7 64-bit tools are released.Drivers for WLan or BT stack can be found here:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/Other drivers or Toshiba tools such as value added package or Face Recognition, Eco utility and others could be used with other series of portable for example by Satellite C660D or others such as L750D, L755D or C670D
Surely you must pay attention to the integrated graphics chip, the LAN or the chipset
Use the drivers that are released for fleas in NB550D -

Hi guys.
Very strange problem when I try to install win 7.
I changed the bios to start from the cd and it works great. After that the windows 7 installed to finish, reset the laptop and when the witness appears it is just Windows 7 freeze. (keep moving but nothing happened).
I already tried 3 versions of windows 7 and still the same problem.
I also use Capitol via Hiren and I cleaned the hard drive and installed again but... the same due problen.any suggestions?
Thank you very muchWhat BIOS settings you changed exactly?
Usually, you will need to disable secure boot and have spend the the CSM UEFI boot mode.By the way: have you used the Microsoft original own installation CD to install the system, or have you used a backup for the installation of the OS image?

Hello:
If the network controller device is missing, then the driver installed and you should now see an Intel 5100 WiFi card listed in the category network adapters in the Device Manager.
You should now be able to connect to wireless internet.
The other two drivers you posted the ID for are the following:
First install it and reboot.
The other is the graphics card that needs a driver.
One of the unknown devices is probably this one...
Another unknown devices is probably this one...
You must display the hardware for the 3rd ID like you did the others. If it is listed as being unknown, it does not start with PCI\VEN. Right after the top line of characters.

Impossible to install win 7 64 bit
Hi, I have a problem with windows 7 64-bit installation, installation hangs on "Expanding windows files" and stays on 0%, but when I try to install Windows 7 32 bit, everything seems to be OK, and it works. I have a HP Pavillion G7-1201sm.
This is the original factory specifications for your laptop HP Pavilion g7-1201sm. According to the specification, this model left the factory with FreeDOS installed. HP provides drivers 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit Windows 8 pilots on the laptop PC HP Pavilion g7-1201sm drivers page for your computer.
If the installation is hanging, complete a new download of the version of Windows 7 SP1 64 bit you have a product key valid for. Direct links to Windows 7 SP1 ISOs are HERE and HERE. Direct link to Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool. The USB/DVD Tool to create a bootable DVD or a downloaded ISO from USB Flash drive. First remove the CD/DVD drive device manager. Then go to the registry and remove the filter top and bottom of this key:

After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, I've had a pretty big problem. Whenever I try to transfer or backup files to a portable HD USB device only a few files are transferred and the CPU load then engulfs the system (85-92%) with hardware and procedure calls deferred (DPC) of the interruptions as shown by Process Explorer. Stop the backup/transfer or disconnect drives is not good - the use of the processor runs at a constant of 70-90%. Only a reboot gets rid of the problem. Here are the relevant facts and things I did to find the problem:
(1) I used three external HD drives, a HP Personal Media 1 TB and a hard WD 500 GB and a 1 TB IOMEGA. I tried all 3 external HDs on alternating ports USB - same problem.
(2) all discs worked perfectly before on my Vista-64 (PC) system and both drives work fine on both my other XP systems.
(3) my system is a HP Pavilion PC m9517c with a processor 2.3 ghz Quad-core, 8 GB of memory and a 1 TB HD, so the processing power is not the problem.
(4) I have tried the same transfer after a clean boot with all disabled menu items and services - same problem start.
(5) in Device Manager for each disk under the policies tab, I also spent the default selection of "Rapid withdrawal", which disables the cache to "best performance" that allows to write cache (it could be a problem of write caching since it will transfer a few files before it grinds almost to the stop of thought)-same problem writing.
It seems e problem a Win 7. Can anyone give me any help would be appreciated. HP has been less useful for their support and knowledge.
Problem solved! Thanks CharlesHP (graduate student). I spent a week on & off with HP support, both on the phone and by e-mail. They did not come close to understanding or solve the problem and you resolved easily. It took only the Microsoft hotfix that you me bound. Thanks again.

Install Win XP 64-bit on Dell Dimension 8400
Hi all
I want to install Windows XP Professional 64-bit on Dell Dimension 8400 (64 bit PC). But I don't know what "SATA Operation" mode to choose. However, when I tried with "RAID Autodetect / AHCI", "RAID Autodetect / ATA ' or 'RAID ON', I could not install because there was an error message saying that the hard drive not found: (.) But I know that the hard drive works fine. I note that there is another option "combination".
1. can you please anyone suggest me the correct installation with the correct Sata Mode? Please note that I basically need to install Windows XP Professional 64-bit only, and I don't have a floppy as well.
2. in addition, I don't have a company CD for drivers or operating system. I can upload them in the DELL site with serial number of the PC. But I noticed that there are many readers for the same category, for example: 12 drivers for the video. How to select the corresponding drivers exactly between all for this particular PC?
Although I noticed similar/alternative problems addressed in this forum, but I could not find an adequate solution to these answers.
Thank you!!!
Frey
Since the drive was part of the front table, it can automatically start (should be able to confirm to CTRL-I), but if not, then you need to start manually (made in CTRL-I, or even the operating system management utility).
You can also get another cable... they are usually no more than $2-3 to any computer parts store.
