To password protect a zip file in Windows 7

OK, so we have Windows 7 after using XP. But now we have a big problem. I can't password protect all files zip or open them. Google seems to find no answer if anyone can tell me how I can do this. Now, if I can't create/open, then we have a serious problem. Can someone tell me why this has been deleted if it were.

7-zip is free software and work to password protect, however if the file is transferred to another computer, that computer must have 7 zip installed to open it.

Another option is that Windows 7 Professional and ultimate edition have the option to use Windows XP Mode, which should enable the password protection. I don't know if the recipient (if the file is intended for email) / other computer should open in the same mode of Windows XP.

I could be wrong, but I tried to create an archive of password protected using 7 - zip and selecting the format of "zip" archive Once that the archive was created I closed my 7 - zip and then open the archive and entered my password using Windows Explorer.

Everything worked OK, so presumably you can open an archive on another PC that does not have installed 7 - zip, as long as you created archive using "zip" as the format.

    Hello:

I see from my research online, it says cannot find in files Office 2007 password (in particular, Word and Excel 2007) protected in Windows 7.

Is there a solution, a way to do this without removing the protection of password of all my files?

    Thank you.

No there is no work around.  You can always search metadata, as if you have a file that I made which was protected, you can still find it by searching for author: shawn, but you would not be able to search inside of the file.

Note that delete encrypting is only supported on the disk hard base NTFS and not FAT32, for example, if you copy the encrypted file in the Flash of the encryption will remove your zip file.

You can create the zip file and if you use flashmemory you can use Bitlocker to go (this is the functionality of certain imprimablede Windows 7) or use third party software to encrypt it.

    Hello

You need to open ZIP files, which are compressed to make it smaller, then use the content
in the application appropriate - so if the audio or video content can use WMP.

Although Windows has integrated ZIP, you might be more comfortable using a program
