  I recommend first to buy a router, even if it's one you won't connect to internet and it network with others your PC and printer. This will give you the best features and the results of what you're trying to do.

  In addition, the automatic stop of the printer function can be disabled and is not affected by the type of connection. Usually, you can go through the configuration Menu and select tools to change the options there on the energy saving features.

  Finally, the auto off function on your computer is a Windows question, but one easy answer. If you're on a laptop, you can right click on the battery in the tray (lower right corner) and change the settings for energy conservation.

  You might be better off installing the printer via the USB cord and alternately inspiring when you use it, but which is not optimal if you are printing only a few documents on an irregular basis.   I recommend to install the drivers of comprehensive features, either from the CD or a download, on all computers that you want to use the Laserjet Pro 400 with.  This will ensure that all the features with each PC you want to have connected with the printer.

  I've been using a printer Lexmark Z35 with Vista Home Premium and then it stopped working.  When I go to the control panel of configuration/printers look at the properties of a printer (even PDF printer), when I click on the Ports tab, nothing happens, it just hangs.  I left alone for 45 minutes and it is still stuck.   I searched online but could not find anything on this.

  I see you try to set your Laserjet P1005 MFP always print one page only. This isn't an option through Windows PC or Apple, but there are two ways to work around this problem. The first would be to pay attention to what is being printed by activating the mode print preview before you print. The second solution would be to have only a sheet of paper in the printer at any time.

But if I pass a printer not valid of the string returned by the method .print said also that he printed successfully. Is this expected behavior?

  No, if the name of the printer is invalid, you will receive an exception like this message:
  javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: name of the printer «...» ' is not valid!

  However, if you do not set any printer name in the call, then the default printer will be used.

• DeskJet 3632: unable to set the printer for the moment of ink

  I recently bought this printer, but finds it difficult to sign up for the instant the ink plan. The printer is connected to the pc via the usb cable because my router is not active wifi.   Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you try to register your DeskJet 3632 to instant ink.

  The following was taken directly form Instant ink Web Site. What are the conditions to register?

  Your printer must be connected to the Internet, so we know when to send you ink.

  According to the Specifications of the printer (as you noted) the 3632 does not support an Ethernet connection. This means that the printer must be on a wireless network in order to be enrolled in the program.  There is no way around this requirement.
