This problem began only after I've upgraded to the latest version of Firefox.
Hi Doug,.
Sorry about that. It might be this time your home page and the Firefox start page are defined as your home page.
Here's how to reset your home page:
- Open your home page and close other tabs
- Click on the
menu button and click on Preferences
- In the Preferences window, click on general
- Click the use current Pages button
I hope this will fix things. Let us know if it works!

This only started happening a week - I used Firefox for years
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

I need help with my computer Windows 7 freezing. How can I stop this?
This just happened to me because my computer has been built up and tested in the last month. I was in the middle of work on an assignment for the class online and just froze. I couldn't use the mouse or keys and was forced to hit the reset button on the front of my computer. I use Windows 7 Ultimate with all updates. I have the Intel Core i5 quad core processor and PCI Express card Asus Geforce GTX 550Ti 2.0 and 4 GB of memory hardware. It is the copy of the event viewer. I will list all the codes that concern as well. This is the entire code format: (this has happened before, so I need to know why it happened and how I fix so it does not happen.) Thank you very much for your help! Ernie Mink
Hi Ernie,.
You get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error?
A 41 event is used to signal that something unexpected has happened that prevent Windows to close properly. This problem may be caused, if some hardware drivers are not updated.
I suggest for the link and follow the steps in the article based on different scenarios.
Of core Windows event error ID 41 'the system has rebooted without cleanly close the first' in Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Hi Tansy,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I understand how it could be frustrating when things do not work as expected. Please, I beg you, don't worry I'll try my best to resolve the issue.
I understand that you want to disable the open Internet Explorer at startup option.
Method 1
Step 1: I suggest to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.Startup options (including safe mode)
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-modeStep 2: If the problem is solved in SafeMode with networking, then I suggest to perform clean boot and remove the program that is causing the problem.
How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8

Note: Follow step 3 of section of boot KB929135 to reset the computer in normal mode.Method 2

Since the installation of Google Chrome, whenever I start to upload photos into my computer, Adobe Photoshop Elements opens upward. How can I stop this from happening? I tried to find a place to disable the plugin Adobe in Chrome, but can't locate. Does anyone have a solution?
Your answer showed no once again, but here are a few things to check:
1. If you hold down the SHIFT key and then connect your camera that should stop the pse to open.
Then go into workstation, do a right-click on the camera (by car), select Properties > AutoPlay and you should be able to change what is happening.
2. glance in the organizer of items in photoshop under Edit > Preferences > camera and card reader and see if the start automatically is checked.
(not all versions of the pse Organizer have that)

Since the update to El Capitan, during the scrolling of the screen guard snapping back to the top of the Web page. How can I stop this?
Please read this message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.
Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.
The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.
Test in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

Hello
I bought a used desktop computer. After setting it up again to what I had before I find the computer comes on every Saturday night at the same time. How can I stop this from happening?
If anyone has an answer for me please give him in singles and not "computer language".
Thank you
GunterYour best course of action would be to do a complete new installation of Windows. Not sure how this computer has been maintained or used. She could have anything whatsoever thereon against malware of illegal material.
Although the automatic turn on every Saturday night is probably trivial (for example, some application checking to see if there are updates), it could be malware "phone home" with your personal information (bank accounts, passwords, etc.).
This TechNet article provided by 'Support' engineer is not likely to be useful for you. For Windows XP (you posted your question in a Windows XP forum), open scheduled as follows:
Click Start > click on all programs > point to Accessories > tap System Tools > and then click scheduled tasks.
Review each of the tasks listed to determine what they are doing. You can then decide if you want to remove one of them. You should consider, however, that there may be other mechanisms that cause your computer turn on as you describe.
