  • Photosmart HP 6520: Print spooler

I was able to print from my phone (Samsung Galaxy s7) without problem on several different HP using the card of HP printers in. In the last three weeks, I get the message that has not stopped the print spooler. I took the plug stop, off, reinstalled, and I get the same message.

Hey @castettower, Hello and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I understand that you see a message that has not stopped the print spooler. As I understand it, there is no option to restart the spooler given only with a Windows operating system, but I'll help you with an alternative.

First of all, we will make a copy of all your personal data, photos, etc. on an external device. Then try to clear the cache of your printing application:

    1. Press the Menu button , then select Control Panel(or settings ).
    2. Click handler applications ( Apps).
    3. Tap the icon that you want to repair.
    4. Click Empty the Cache.

After you complete these steps, check if the application is working correctly. If it still does not respond, repeat steps 1-3, and then click delete data.

Keep in mind, deletion of the data of the application deletes any custom options and settings; It's the same as uninstalling and reinstall the application.

If this resolves the issue, please click Accept as Solution button to mark your post as solved. If the problem persists, let me know and I will do everything I can to help.

  • Can not go to sleep, "print spooler" which prevent me from entering

Switch to standby mode, print spooler cannot prevent me to enter

It's true...  XP "checks" with everyone of course no process is in the middle of nothing, and if something says it is busy, you will not enter standby.

Looks like your print spooler is somehow watered upward.  I would stop your Print Spooler Service, delete all print jobs, pending or failures of the queue and then restart the Print Spooler Service.

    Here's how:

To clear the print queue, stop the Print Spooler Service and delete all the pending print files.

You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.

To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service again...

Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP.  If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs.  The folder must be empty when you are finished.

Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

After the reboot, check again the Spooler Service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

  • How can I keep my print spooler active Service after blocking with FixIt

"Operation cannot be completed. Print Spooler service is not running. »

But, he is not fixed... as soon as I try to activate a printer, the error message is repeated.

"Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. »

Participated in the Windows Update... without success

A ran a scan antivirus (AVG)... no virus found

PC Tune Up (AVG)... without success

    At least he's polite.

It could be that your print spooler queue is blocked, then you can clean it up.

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service again... you must remove any saved print jobs first.

If it is not started, right click on and start it.

After the reboot, check again the spooler service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

First of all, try to go to the website of Vista compatibility below to determine whether or not the device can be used on a Vista computer.

Second, try to go to the Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting website to see if the tool is it can be useful in telling you what could be wrong. • How to remove a printer who falls down the print spooler

    Windows 7 64 bit

My print spooler seems to be screwed in place. Initial symptom was showing no printer installed, even though I have several applications. I was able to remove all my printers except one: when I try to delete it, the print spooler crashes, thus preventing the printer are removed. The printer (and others that I was able to successfully delete) has been installed with Novell iPrint.

I've seen a few references to stop the print spooler and removing all C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS, but this place is already empty for me (with no hidden files).

Official documentation of Windows 7 to remove a printer says:

    1. Open devices and printers, click Start , and then, on the start menu, click devices and printers.
    2. Right-click the printer you want to remove, click on remove the device and then click Yes.

If you can't delete the printer, right-click again, click Run as administrator, click on remove the device and then click Yes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I don't have an option "Run as administrator" on the printer, so I can't try that last bit.

    Any other suggestions?

I guess you tried to uninstall the software of the printer through programs and features (if there is one)?

Is there an associated service of Novell iPrint? If so, stop it, then try the previous steps.

Is it possible to raise again through iPrint installation and remove it? I'm not familiar with this program (it's been 20 years I messed with Novell).

You are an administrator on this PC? Is this printer a network printer? If so, are there other PC on which may be trying to access?

    --

    SC Tom

P.S. I don't have the option "Run as Administrator" when I right click on any printer on one of three different computers with three different operating systems, so I don't know where Microsoft came up with that one.

What are the causes to stop working during printing and stop again shortly after I start my print spooler. I also find that my printer takes a long time to start printing after I clicked "Print". I use an all-in-one printer Lexmark P4350 on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    David

    Hi David,

    Thank you for the update.

    Use all the dependency services?

The solution for slow printing is the print spooler reset.

When we press the Windows key + R, a window opens. This is called the immediate window.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and check. Lexmark is not Windows 7 compatible drivers for the printer. So, you can download the drivers for Windows Vista and install in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps to install in compatibility mode:
    a. right click on the driver installation file and select Properties and then tap or click on the compatibility tab.
    b. check the box run this program in compatibility mode .
    c. press or click the menu drop down and select a previous operating system, and then tap or click OK.
