To upgrade to LF162UA Pavilion G7-1073nr i5 i3

What is the correct processor to the improvement of a HP Pavilion G7 Seral # [edited by Moderator] leave an i3 to an i5?  I Kow that I upgraded to an i7 canoe so an i5 would be nice.

Thank you

Hello:

The correct i5 processor to acquire for your model would be the first generation core i5 - 480 m in accordance with Chapter 1 of the the service manual on the link below, because your PC has a first generation core i3 - 380 m.

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02834058.PDF

Second generation core processors will not work with the chipset of your notebook.

    Hello

According to Corsair, the DIMMs that you chose is detected only at 1600 mhz, which is not in the specifications published by HP.

You can roll the dice on the DIMMs that you chose, but I wouldn't recommend that buy you them until you contact Corsair and get a confirmation.  Computers HP can be very finicky with DIMMs, especially if you try to mix them with other DIMM modules.  If you do buy these bars and want to be them mixed with the existing DIMMs, then make sure the timings of latency CASE corresponding information validated HP. Also mix DIMM sizes will cause the memory function in unbalanced mode that adversely affect the performance of the memory.

You should be able to make your own decision on whether to roll the dice.

  • Upgrade memory for Pavilion dv7

In October, I bought a Pavilion dv7 (model dv7t-7000) with 16 GB of RAM.  Is it possible to upgrade to 32 GB?  I also want to add an SSD as a second drive.  Is this possible.

    Hello

It's a CTO machine so we can have its specifications.

    1. for the RAM, I think 16 GB is its limit as shown in the following link:

    2. Yes, you can use SSDS on the second span, please watch the following video:

  • HP Pavilion Slimeline 400-224: upgrade memory on Pavilion Slimline 400-224

I want to upgrade the memory of my HP pavilion slimline 400-224.  After opening the case, how do I determine how many memory locations is available?  The current Council of the memory is SK Hynix 4 G 1Rx8 PC3L 12800 S-11-13 - B4.   It seems to be another location, just underneath and take-away.

Can you tell me if this machine has one or two slots for memory...  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Here are thespecifications of your machine. It allows two modules of 8 GB.  You said 4 GB installed.  Which would jive with your Visual (only 1 modules installed). If it was mine, I would opt for a corresponding module of 4 GB and do with it.

HP PartSurfer does not list the SK Hynix 4 G 1Rx8 PC3L 12800 S-11-13 - B4.  Another curious point, the specs list 6 GB installed. It would be a 4 GB and 2 GB modules.

  • Pavilion p6 - 2307: upgraded GPU in Pavilion p6 - 2307a

Hi, I am interested in the upgrade of the NVIDIA GeForce 620 of GT, which comes with the Pavilion p6 - 2307. I have run Windows 64-bit 10. The specifications of my desktop (to support people no HP) can be found here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03604360

I would get an EVGA NVIDIA GTX 1060 / 3GB, however I heard that others were unable to update their graphics in the pavilions maps, because they "locked," such as HP will not allow you to change the graphics card by default. Is this true for my office? If so, would be fixed by getting a new motherboard?

Even if I can use this GPU, there is a very close capacitor of the PCI express x 16 slot, just above it, which I think could get in the way. Maybe I could use a PCI express x 16 extender, however I do not know how the GPU would be actually physically supported, so I don't think this is a long-term solution. If I replace my motherboard, I then need to reinstall Windows? And I have to buy a new copy? My existing copy of Windows or how some would be transferred to my new motherboard?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Lachlan.

The BIOS of your desktop PC is not locked.

The EVGA graphics card is too large. It is 10.5 inches long and your motherboard is 9.6 "wide.  It is unlikely to hold in the case of the PC.

  • HP Pavilion dv 6000: hardware upgrade for hp pavilion dv 6000

I have an old hp pavilion dv 6000, I recently upgraded to windows 7 and everything works well, but I would like to make the hardware upgrades as well.

I want to move to maximum capacity, specifically: processor, graphics card, hard drive, and wireless network card.

If someone can provide me with a list of known compatible with my system hardware would be great, I'll also be open to any suggestion of additional hardware upgrade if someone propose

    Hello

Two things, you will not be able to upgrade: display the card and wireless network card.

    (a) graphics card: we cannot spend more than 90% of laptops, including yours,

    (b) wireless network adapter: your machine was built before the mid-2014, the whitelist prevents you to upgrade the wireless card.

Now, you have 2 items to upgrade (maybe 3): hard drive and the processor (CPU) (and maybe RAM)

    (a) HARD drive: any 2.5 "HDD or even SSDS with 9.5 mm or less. SSD is more expensive but faster. HHD, please select the one that has RPM faster (7200 RPM), large cache (more is better). They are numerous on the following list including SSD:

    http://www.centrecom.com.au/notebook-hard-drives

    (b) for the processor, please use following 5-69 of the manual page to buy the right part of HP. Please do not ask me why to buy at HP.

According to the Specifications of the product , the computer has an external power supply 180W (PSU).  If this is the case, you won't be able to level the video card.  The 750ti requires a power supply of at least 300 w; Some reported that 400W is needed to make it work properly.

  • CPU Upgrade - G6 2220SQ Pavilion

I think my i3 of the 2370 M (SB) upgraded to an i7 3610QM (IB). I'm not shure if this would be a good idea because some say it could be a compatibility issue when switching from the CPU. I am sure that electrically and physically there is no problems (the chipset is Intel HM76 that supports taken rPGA 988B processors, and the processor is on the list of upgrade of the socket according to the official website of Intel). What is more, I saw the 3610QM i7 launched in Q2 2012 and laptop BIOS's May 29, 2013. CPU - Z indicates that the version I currently have is F.25, made by Insyde before specified date. Pavilion G6 2240SQ a on board an i7 3632QM, so is there a go for the upgrade or not? Features of the phone are: memory of 8 GB 1333 (2x4gb) made by ASint Technology, i3 2370 M @2.4 GHz 35W, 7670 M 1 GB GDDR3, 750 GB at 5400 RPM / MIN Hitachi HDD, motherboard is HP 1840 (56.32), chipset Intel Sandy Bridge REV 09, southbridge Intel HM76 04 REV. I look forward to your reply.

You have probably already that, but here is the Manual:

The i7-3610QM is not in the list. Your logic is impeccable on why it should work, but it may or may not. The i7-3632QM will work certainly because it's on the list. The model with this processor uses the same motherboard as yours.
