too many archiving logs to be generated

In my oracle9i database, too many archiving logs to be generated per day.

What could be the reason?

Kind regards
MKA.

Hello

experienced developers that there are too many duplicates present and implemented to date.

So developers are updating a Table in order to eliminate duplicate rows, is it good? I'm not sure I understand the situation.

In any case, during the update operation, you will need to control the destination of the journal archived so that it does not completely fill. You can do this BACKUP and delete newspapers archived or compress them or moving to another location.

Otherwise, try checking whith the developers if you define a primary key or a Unique constraint on this Table, in order to avoid the lines double in the future.

Hope this helps.
Best regards
Jean Valentine

  • E/s and too many newspapers of archiving system

    Hi all

    It frustrates me. Our database of production began to produce too many logs archived redo instantly - once again. This has happened before; Two months ago, that our database was producing too many newspapers Archives. just then we started to get async IO error, we consulted a DBA and it restarted the database server by telling us that it was caused by the system (?).

    But after this restart, the amount of archive logs decreased significantly. I was remove the logs by hand (350 GB GB 300 DB arch), and after that the archive logs don't overrun never 10% of the area of archive of 300 GB. Currently, the newspapers increase by 1% (3 GB) for 7-8 minutes, which are already too.

    I checked in Enterprise Manager, the graph of I/o system is continuous and details show the process as ARC0, ARC1, LGWR (read sequential log file, db file write parallels are most active). Also Phsycal bed are very contradictory and exceed 30000 Ko at times. Undo tablespace is full almost all the time causing ORA-01555.

    The symptoms above all started today. The database is closed at 03:00 to perform a backup in offline mode and is open until 06:00 every day.

    Nothing has changed on the database (9.2.0.8), applications (11.5.10.2) or BONES (AIX 5.3).

    What is the reason for this more foolish behavior? Please help me.

    Thanks in advance.

  • DataGuard slowed db: generating the archive logs?

    Hello

    I have a 11.2.0.4 db using Data Guard to play with. I just set up and could do a failover and vice versa.

    However I have noticed there are great number of generated archive logs, one every minute. As it is an empty database, I wonder why?

    Logs are generated on the disc:

    As I thought might be the case, the problem was at the level of the BT server.

    I logged the issue with the support of BT Office.  Initially they wanted me reinstalled Windows Mail (and potentially lose all my email archives).  I resisted that and they to the engineering team.  I don't know what they have done (I'm told it was a known problem and they had to set some parameters at the end of the server).

    Everything they do seems to have solved satisfactorily the question, which has not reappeared.

  • Too many running processes?

    While playing a game online (Aces High), the program stops working and I am getting an Aces High EXE.

    When you talk with their tech support they said I have too many processes running during the game. I looked into the Task Manager and it says I have 64 of them running. Aces High-tech support said I should about 35 processes running and maybe I could eliminate some of them. They also said that I should reduce the detail of the screen of the game a little.
    I use my pc for a game online and email and occasional printing. Should I have that a lot of process?

    I tried to find out what processes are for and I really can't understand them. So I don't know what to delete. What can I do to improve the performance of the machine without having to resort to the put in new RAM or something like that?

    Vista 64-bit system

    I thought that my system would be more than capable to run this game online with no problems.

    Hello

    Yes, your system must be running that game however, there may be other reasons that he has trouble,
    including incorrect programming of their own. The tech you suport contacted had no idea regarding
    the real question.

    Have you tried running the 32-bit browser?

    Hi robert.huang,

    The error "% ASA-4-402117: IPSEC: received a package not IPSec (Protocol = UDP) 10.11.10.1 to 10.11.10.255" says that on the remote side sends traffic from 10.11.10.1 to 10.11.10.255 which is not sent through the IPSec tunnel. You can confirm with them.

    In addition, you can adjust the level of severity of this log message and define what level of logs must be sent to your syslog server so that it does not understand this, but I wouldn't recommend it.

    Kind regards

  • Oracle database archive logs

    Hi all

    I searched the Oracle and Internet Documents. It is really hard to get information on the management of the archive Log, so I thought to post it here:

    Now, our Database 9i (EBS 11.5.x) was in no archive mode, so I allowed him to archive mode.

    Edit the pfile $ORACLE_HOME/admin/SID/pfile who will be /oracle/proddb/9.2.0/dbs/initPROD.ora

    ############################

    # Archive Log Destinations-benr(10/15/04)

    ############################

    Log_archive_dest_1 = ' location = / Uncordon / archive.

    log_archive_start = TRUE

    then connect to the database

    SQL > shutdown normal;

    SQL > startup mount exclusive;

    SQL > alter system set log_archive_start = TRUE scope = spfile;
    SQL > alter system set log_archive_dest_1='LOCATION= /oracle/archivelog '
    scope=both;
    SQL > alter archivelog database;
    SQL > CHANGE the START of the SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG;
    SQL > alter database open;
    SQL > alter system archive log all;
    SQL > change the start of the archive log system;
    SQL > archive log start;

    The next day, I checked the location of archive and sparked an archive of 1 GB even if there is no activity on the database.

    Question

    1. How can I delete old logs archiving without using RMAN?

    2. How should I know which Archives connects to keep and delete?

    3. is there a way to know why the database generates so many newspapers to check-in?

    Hello

    Yes, you must keep this archive. You can schedule the job to compress files to archive (record use of space) and move it to another place as a backup.

    You can schedule both COLD backup once a week, in this case it is scabies archive for a week.

  • How OE 6.0 behaves if there are too many messages stored in the Inbox or sent folders?

    Ability of OE message

    How OE 6.0 behave if there are too many messages stored in the Inbox or sent folders. And the number depends on whether or not they have been read. Is there a limit on the file deleted or is it supported by Auto removes permanent?

    Partially covered in your other post.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

    Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

    Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

    After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

    Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • too many startup programs

    Too many programs that start automatically when I log in I have to change this

    To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
     http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx

    With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

    Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.
