Too much photo screensaver

When I try to use a photo I took with my digital camera as my screen saver that it is medium large.  Someone said that the image file was too big?  How to shrink the image file or is there another solution to the problem?

Hi Cameow,

Thank you for taking the time to post.

1. can you tell us exactly what is happening? You get a message telling you something?

2. just to clarify, when you say that the screen saver do mean you Eve and no background wallpaper?

3. the image appears but it seems just wrong?

With your digital camera, you should be able to go through the settings on it and adjust the size of the image.

If you want to reduce a photo you can search on internet of programs that allow that you change image sizes. There are free programs that will do, just be aware when you download it from.

  • Photo library take too much space even with active iCloud

I am paying to iCloud and I have hundreds of GB available, yet my iPhone 5 c is constantly telling me I'll have storage problems, mainly caused by the photo library, containing several GB.  I have iCloud library enabled, as well as the option 'optimize iPhone storage '.  Photos latest have already transferred in my library, so I know that photos download correctly and not late, but why the library still takes so much space?

    Because it is.

If you have used all available space on your phone, you need to remove some content on the phone.

The setting "Optimize phone Storage" is not magic. Your phone still has a finite amount of space. It may be that pictures should be removed, but it will be something.

Check the settings > general? Use storage & icloud. Look what's too much your space.

No other way in addition to the storage option optimize. The next 'solution' would only be delete photos.

  • MacBook Air storage issues - I have iCloud but using too much data, which is a better solution?

I have a Macbook Air processor intel and storage 4 GB, I use iCloud for storing all my data, but recently I had a problem with too much use of my data internet home. We are limited because we live in a rural area. So I guess I have two questions: 1) can I use an external hard drive to avoid having to use my iCloud? and if I do which is the best to use external storage drive? I have a lot of files and photos, I am a real estate agent. I got this Macbook Air since September 2015 still invite us to her also. Next question, can I use another Mac with a bigger hard drive instead of the MacBook Air? My son told me in the Macbook air because of its features, but the storage for me is imperative. Use many small external drives that you can carry in your pocket that connect to the computer via USB 3.0. Shop for them at

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

  • Photo screensaver prevents the display of power

New HP dv5-1235dx notebook my wife is running Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit.  His favorite screen saver is 'Photos', using a directory containing hundreds of photos.  The screen saver is programmed to start after 3 minutes.  The computer is powered by a power cord, rather than out of the battery.

The problem is that the option of power management to turn off the display does not work when this screensaver is activated.  No matter how much time is allowed for the screen saver, or how late is allowed before the screen should turn off.

If any other screen saver is selected, the power management option turns off the display as expected.  My wife doesn't want to use a different screen saver, however.

Is it possible to get to the screen to disable everything using the screen saver pictures?

I don't want to put the computer to sleep, because preventing my virus scan chose to take place late at night.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The computer manufacturer helped me solve the problem.

They suggested I have replace the screen saver Windows Vista 'Photos' with a screensaver third photo of my choice, then try to use power management features to turn off the screen again.  It worked.  The third photo screensaver that I have chosen (called 'Slide show without end' and on the Tucows site) does not interfere with power management functions the way built into Vista 'Photos' screen saver appears to do.

  • Deleting Microsoft Photos Screensaver?

How can I get rid of Microsoft pictures screensaver? I don't need it doesn't and it's driving me crazy. I put a warning box white on my screen that stays there forever. It gives me a warning of TPD. I read the lengthy explanations how to solve this problem. but I just want that he went. Thank you

    Hi Sandijo,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

one) you use any program for Microsoft Photo screensaver?
    (b) have you set as a saver screen or wallpaper on your computer?
    (c) what do you get exactly in the TPD warning message? Where do you get?

The screensavers that come with Windows, however, can't be removed. We will try this procedure:
    1. open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click programs, and then clicking programs and features.
    2. click on the screen saver that you want to delete and then click on uninstall.

    Delete a screen saver

Enable or disable the screen saver

    Change screen saver

Please inform us with the problem that you encounter on your computer as it will help us to solve the problem in a way much better.

  • you try to run photo screensaver on 2 monitors

I have 2 monitors on the new Win Vista machine. On XP, the screen saver photos would be travelling on both screens, on Vista, it lies on the main screen. Ditto for some of the others like Windows energy and windows logo - bubbles, aurora, Mystify and ribbons are working on two screens at the same time.

Also - even if the definition of picture on 'random' each time it lights it only made a fade type - but different from the last time, he came.

Not much, but I love to watch my photos when I talk...

    Hello PurpleDog1,

Thank you for posting.  Now the Photo screen saver does not use more than one screen (main screen) in a multi-screen configuration.  I know that this photo screensaver function is Windows 7 and it can be added later to Vista.
Even if you have some other screensavers that use more than one monitor, each screensaver is a separate program with its own characteristics and limitations.  You can try to use or your favorite search engine to find screensavers of photo that support multiple monitors.
Please let me know if this helps you. Zack

  • My Flash project contains too much memory.

I am creating a Flash photo album and left many pictures in my work. However, my project has recently stopped working in Flash Player and either crashes or causes an error message indicating that too much memory is in use. I need all these pictures in my photo album, so removal of some is out of the question. Is there any other way to fix my project?

Yes, not to put one of the photos in the photo album manually.  Have them all loaded dynamically. You will not have to leave one of them and update the album will not require editing, just change the data file, you use that identifies the images and add images to the collection.

  • How can I reduce the weight of the image without losing too much quality?

    Nice day.

I'm still a beginner in using Dreamweaver.

I hope someone can guide me concerning the weight of the image.

The image of the banner currently weighs 1.35 MB (PNG24) - a picture with a logo.

Photography (24 photos on a single page, using the thickbox Gallery) weighs about 1.3 MG each (JPEG images).

Where can I learn how to reduce the weight of

    • the above PNG image

    • the above JPEG images

    without losing too much quality?

    I would really appreciate guidance.

There are 3 steps to balance weight (file size) vs image image quality

    (1) the dimensions of the image (on the screen height x measured in pixels wide is all that matters). Dimensions more small = reduced file size.

    (2) compressed file type (JPEG for photographs, PNG, or GIF for everything else). Choose the file type for your picture.

    (3) the final compressed image quality - visually by comparing the final image for the file size final vs 'acceptability' (less artifacts)

  • By the last updated 21/07/2015, where is the + in the message pane? The message pane takes up too much real estate.

I like the very compact message pane. In the last updated 21/07/2015, the '+' disappeared and the message pane takes too much space. I'm willing to change Thunderbird mail readers.

Please put ultra compact/a '+' back a.s.a.p. I tried ALL the tools and Menus for this already.

The + and - are from an add on which you installed to sometimes called Compact Headers. That add needs to be updated to work with the new version of Thunderbird.
Go to add it on the page and are looking for Compact headers. There is a new version that works with versions of Thunderbird 37 to 40.

iCloud drive holds shadow copies of all the files on your Mac so you can always access your documents, even in offline mode. It is supposed to keep your documents synced to your devices, not as only an off-site storage to save space on the mac.

You can't stop the shadow - on iCloud drive all files will be downloaded to your Mac, if you enable iCloud drive.

If you want to iCloud drive as an external storage without the shadow, don't turn on your Mac, but only use the web interface at to download and view the documents there. But then you will not be able to see iCloud drive as a drive in the Finder.
