  Hey all, new to these forums, but just bought a 40TL900A and I am very happy with it so far. Nice visuals and sound coming from the built-in speakers isn't too bad either.

• "Toshiba Places" does not work

  My Toshiba RL958 TV is now a failure load Toshiba places after worked OK since I bought it. The Wired internet connection is good because the Media Guide Downloads okay and I updated the firmware with a download.

  I also did a factory reset before I updated the firmware. When Toshiba Places is selected it will just up the download symbol and then finally just a clear screen saying Toshiba Places.

  Hi, I'm having the same problem, said it was loading, but all I get is a black screen and the text "Toshiba Places".

  Sinus, I have the TV 32RL938G I noticed some issues related to places of Toshiba. Several times I was not able to access the service due to the error of connectivity. What I understand from other users of Romania have problems of same. Can you please let me know the address of the Toshiba Places portal web-service (ip/url) my tv tries to reach when accessing to the Toshiba places so I can test connectivity from my ISP?

  Also, I note that recently Toshiba Places had closed just (this info I got from toshibaplaces.com) and there is a new service rather symbalooplaces. Can you please let me know how that affects my tv? Toshiba places will continue to work for this TV.

  Yes, I read that also service Toshiba Places has been replaced by parts of Symbaloo.

  YouTube does not work, yet it is (yet) present in the scene of the video.

  I'm seeing this right, there are now new models of tv with a toshiba places UI upgrade that has more content.

  I 958b 40, which is hardly old but not this means toshiba has forgotten about it and will not add to the places with more applications?

  I just saw that they now offer netflix a bbc sport what id welcome but can't find it on my TV, even though it offers the esn to netflix in the system menu. I was a little disappointed by the places offering initially but if it is true im a really disappointed.

  Oddly enough, when you go to www.toshibaplaces.com you are automatically redirected to www.symbalooplaces.com with a nice interface and already available in several languages.

  But it is unclear if this redirection means that Toshiba Places would be replaced by Symbaloo and I have not found much info on internet right now on this new project.

  Its looks like the service is temporarily not available.
  Server is probably down due to the low maintenance.

  I'm the Australia my model TV set is 40TL900A with the latest firmware.

  I have the same problems as the original since 13/01/2014 poster.
  I couldn't get past the Toshiba Places menu, it's just loading and loading with nothing happens.
  I updated the firmware to the last, reset the config, rewire, and test the network connection. Network diagnosis connection says it's ok, but toshiba places are unable to use.

  I guess there is a temporal server problem and there is nothing wrong with your TV device or connection.
  Therefore, you can do nothing to wait until the service will be available again.

  Internal server error means that there is a problem with the server and nothing worng with your account.

  No doubt some temporal problems of the server recommend you simply wait until this problem could be solved.
