Toshiba DVD player - player ODD do not watch movies, the disc is missing

This is the text that appears when I run the TOSHIBA DVD PLAYER:

"The specified drive is not found. "Check the settings by going to settings-> actions-> Source settings, or otherwise verify that disk has been correctly connected to the PC.

I played movies on my laptop before; I guess that is something to do with all this updates a month that I ve been getting. At least 4 every day.
I also did it said the warning sign and still nothing, when I checked for the latest version of the driver, he was told "you have the updated driver for your computer.

Does anyone know how can I get my rear driver for my daughter & son can once again watch the movies?

Hello Ricky

In your message I don't understand one thing: you have a problem with a Toshiba DVD drive or optical drive?
Can you please make little test?

Download and install VLC media player (it's free) and test the functionality of optical disc drive.
To be honest, I use VLC for years and this is, for me, the best player I tested in recent years.

  • Satellite L300D - can't watch movies using a Toshiba DVD player

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L300D - 12L and the toshiba dvd player has stopped working.

The laptop is always able to recognize the dvd as the 'AutoPlay' box appears when a DVD is inserted and says ' DVD RW drive (e :)) "at the top of the follow-up to the title of the film.
I then click on 'play the DVD using a DVD TOSHIBE movie'... and nothing happens.

I tried several different DVD, which I know work in other laptops or DVD players.
I tried by following this link...

    http://www.TechSpot.com/VB/topic27616.html

and deleted the lowerfilters and upperfilters but that cause problems and I had to perform a system restore.
I'm running out of ideas and I would like to be able to watch DVD on my laptop again because I don't have a TV or a DVD player.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

It seems that the CD-DVD drive can read the disc, but it seems that the Toshiba DVD Player cannot play video files

Then maybe you should try to play the DVD using other software like Windows Media Player or VLC player download VLC player this small software and install it
Then try to play the movie

I recommend also to install the tool called DVD Player Update Check Tool that you find on the European driver Toshiba page.

With this tool, you can check your laptop, if your DVD player needs an upgrade and if so, it gives you the download link for version upgrade needed.

  • Screen keeps flashing using a Toshiba DVD player

My DVD player plays DVD video but the screen still flashes, can anyone help please?

You have an Intel graphics card?

Well, if yes then I know what could be the problem.

Primarily this question didn t appear initially. Am I wrong?

The problem is that the automatic update of Vista installed has installed a new version of the graphics driver on your laptop. To my knowledge, this could affect the Toshiba DVD player.

You must remove the installed graphics driver and should install one on the page of the Toshiba driver that is compatible with your laptop series.

    Check it out

    Hello

I think it s just a software problem.
There must be something wrong with your operating system, because in my case everything works correctly.

To be honest I n don't know what's wrong with your Toshiba drive preinstalled and I think that most people can provide only a few suggestions, so here's my suggestion.

First update the BONE to this early time.
Then remove the old Toshiba DVD player applications.
Reboot the laptop and then clean the BONES and the registry using CCleaner (free tool).
Download the most recent DVD Toshiba drive tool (at that time v 1.40.20), then install again.

    Usually, this should help

and I guess that video and sound are not the problem here.

I'm not a 'computer' wiz or anything either, but after reading the label of my system, it seems that the requirements very well.
    they are here:

... As you can see, taking me the time to post all this place really shows how frustrated I am... so please Helo me ASAP :(

It is possible that you have a bad DVD drive.  Try it in another computer (a friend or relative) and if it didn't work for them either, you may have to contact the company for a replacement drive.  If it works on their computer and not yours, you may need an update of the firmware of your DVD player to make it compatible with the disc.  It is a rare event, but can happen.  You will need to go to the website where you made your computer and download the update of the firmware if available.

  • Satellite U300: Toshiba DVD player does not work properly

Hello, yesterday I downloaded a new driver for Toshiba DVD player (only had the laptop a week or two).

Now when I try to play a DVD it tells me "unable to output the video to an external device. Please change your display device by pressing the Fn + F5 keys after the end of the application"

Now, I closed the dvd and then did as he said with the Fn + F5 keys, but this seems to get me nowhere. It appears the laptop and the lcd screen icons are highlighted.

    Any suggestions please?

    Hi mate,

It seems that the pilot has some sort of problems. What you might try is to restore the system to a previous restore point.
With luck, you could play your DVD´s again with the player from Toshiba, but I suggest you wait for the next update, maybe they will fix this problem.

You can also use the "VideoLan" drive which is freeware and probably one of the best available players that can play almost all formats. If you want to try the drive, then just go here-> www.videolan.org/

Otherwise, you can perform a restore, use the Toshiba DVD player and wait until toshiba released a new update that works...

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro A300D - cannot play movies on a Toshiba DVD player

    Hi guys,.

When I play movies in Toshiba DVD player I get the following error message: "unable to output the video to an external device. Please check the external output setting after the end of the application. TEMPRO, I installed and tried to install all updates - some of them were for different hardware so wouldn't install.

I get a similar problem in Windows Media Player "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card. VLC player works fine. The drive otherwise normally functioning.

It's the same problem, as described in this thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=201029&tstart=0, but all the answers are a similar problem with HD DVD on a different model (P200).

Anyone know how I can fix this problem? I'm not sure I can be bothered to go back and reinstall Vista etc...

    Thank you
    Alex

    Hey Buddy,

According to the Toshiba DVD Player error message: are you trying to watch DVDs on an external monitor or TV?
In your case, I will try to reinstall the DVD playback software. This means delete the current version and then restart your computer. Then download and install the latest software from Toshiba DVD player.

But to be honest: it's that everything works with VLC media player as it s very big and small media player that can play all audio and video files. Isn t it? ;)

  • Portege R830 - Toshiba DVD Player missing

    Drive DVD - Portege R830 (03N00701)

I can find no trace of the software Toshiba Video Player or Toshiba DVD player. My dealer told me simply that "they probably don't put more ' and told me to use Windows Media Player. Still the .pdf manual has clear instructions to use it.

I'm supposed to have a Toshiba DVD player on board and if not, what can I download online?

    G Hey Lauri

According to the specification for the Portege R830 series you should have The Toshiba DVD Player software.
However you can download it here,

I have not used because I used to use a freeware prog. called VLC because it plays one of these video file formats that I tried on it.

I have Satellite R830-143 and relatively speaking, it has the same specifications as the Portege and had the DVD player when I bought it a month ago.

Seems dealers will tell you anything without even bothering to check.

    Best wishes

  • Equium - Toshiba DVD Player can't read DVD

When I insert a DVD into my internal DVD Toshiba Island DVD player application starts but then displays this error message: -.

+ * Unable to output the video to an external device. Please change your device display by pressing Fn + F5 keys after the end of the application * +.

I press Fn + F5 keys according to the directives and the drop-down list display Fn shows the symbol of the laptop before retreating off the screen. But still the DVD returns the same message and will not play. I find myself with Windows Media Player to play the DVD.

What is going on?? What I am doing wrong?

I'm new to the forum please excuse if this is a repeated question.  :-(

What satellite notebook do you have?
What operating system do you use?

Try to update the DVD player that you can find on the Toshiba site:

  • Satellite L - cannot access a Toshiba DVD player

My laptop Satellite Pro L-series came with windows and upgrade to Win 7, which I am now running. I tried to read a disc that I burned on a comptuer spent, but tells me it's the wrong region (huh?) - my region is set to 4. So I gave up on it for the Nuncio and switched to the Toshiba DVD player.
When I try to open it, I get a message that module (s) is / are missing. If the restart does not work, re - install the application.

    How can I do this?
    TIA

    Hi billym,.

Normally, you can download a newer version from the official website of Toshiba DVD player if search you for downloads available for your laptop model:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

But if you have a DVD with a different region code, you need to change the region code of your CD/DVD drive (Device Manager > properties of the CD/DVD drive).

But don t forget that region code can be changed 4 times

  • Qosmio X 500-148 - DVD Launcher cannot detect a Toshiba DVD player

I had some problems with my Qosmio X 500 - 148 not long after the purchase, resulting in the deletion of hard drives and software reinstalled. DVD playback works ok, but I can't get the Blu - ray to work. When I insert a Blu - ray disc, I get a message "Toshiba DVD Launcher cannot detect a TOSHIBA DVD PLAYER". I guess I need to download and reinstall the Blu - ray software, but can't seem to locate it or any other solution anywhere.

    Hi jsgskydive,

Toshiba DVD playback software, you can download from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
    Laptop > Qosmio > Qosmio X series > Qosmio X 500

Then do a search for X 500 model and you can find a DVD player to download.
