Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop

original title: Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop - HELP!

Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista.  Yesterday it froze completely upward and I had to manually close (hold the power button until stop you him) twice.  The second time when I tried to restart the came Toshiba screen, then the screen with the little scroll down bar, and then it went black, waited for a while, then flashes a bluescreen with a written up VERY quickly and cycles back to the Toshiba screen.  This time after the scroll bar it gives me white saying the writing system could not restart, and I want to start normally or startup repair. If I restart it through loading files, trying to fix it and said then he wasn't able to fix it and when I look at the details there something on a registry error.

I really need to solve this problem quickly and desperately want to save all my files if possible because it's our main Mobile family that has all our digital photos on it and they are not saved. (I know, terrible of us).  Can someone help me?

Thank you

Charity

Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Data recovery:

1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
Download the Vista software from the link above.
After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
See you soon.
    Hello
    Make sure you have the latest network adapter drivers fron toshiba
    and if windows update is at the origin of the problem change how to get updates to uncover the problem update
    Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
    Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
  • Computer Toshiba laptop does not work after the lid slam... Help please!
    This problem with a Toshiba - windows vista laptop began after the cover was closed too hard. When he was conducting swiched, instead of going to the usual blue screen, the screen was grey and a message would come in saying ' it installed program cannot start. " Click ok to stop the computer", as I could not get into windows at all, I took the drastic step to insert the recovery disks that came with the laptop to launch new and see if it worked (a cell phone factory default is is better than nothing).
    In any case during the process, which took a very long time, I got messages such as not found HDD1 also say there not enough space to recover.  Then I got x:\windows\systems32 and nothing else it got stuck on that for centuries, because he just asked me to check the disk, but I couldn't because I couldn't get a windows session, I looked online and saw something similar to my prob and says type chkdsk c:/f I did after recovering past for much longer afterwards I had to stop at 80% , because there is no room in the end and now I don't even not the blue screen.
    As soon as the laptop is turned on, it says, could not start windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause to fix the prob insert your windows installation disc.  But it won't let me, I get just the same message and also it says File\Windows\system32\drivers\Wdf01000.sys and the State: Oc00000e9 and Info: Windows could not load a critical system driver is missing or damaged.
    Please help me if you can, my daughter really needs the laptop works again for homework, thanks a lot
    Thank you for taking the time to answer, I think that will be my next move, was hoping I wouldn't have to take to a repair shop, because you never know how it will end up costing, there may be more damage than all formatting, thanks once again :)
    How repair/replace these entries?
    My computer runs on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
    Hey Sapphire,
    Your computer can still be infected if you have not run antivirus, try everything first to update your antivirus and run a full scan of the system in safe mode. Once you scan your system, try running system mechanic. AFAIK, you can copy the mechanic system to any folder on any drive and it will work / recreate its registry entries if you do not have to reinstall. What you can do is to try to run mechanic system mode administrator-> click right mechanical executable file of the system (in the program folder) and select run as.
    You may be prompted to enter the key to license again.
    I hope this helps.
  • Toshiba laptops with ACPI error during the installation of Windows Vista Beta 2
    Many people including myself try to run Windows Vista along side XP on our Toshiba laptops, so that we can feel comfortable when buying vista. We expect no assistance phone premium. We would just like to know what the problem and hopefully provide technical information so Toshiba that would help their preperation for when Toshiba laptops are sold with Vista and hopefully solve this problem.
    Please people who want to try it either could leave a message on this forum or you can also find a group of enthusiasts to:
    Microsoft.public.Windows.Vista.hardware_devices under the heading of Tosh Satellite.
    We have so far put a lot of time and effort to gather all the information we have so far and would like to get to the bottom of this issue.
    Hello
    I don't know what you expect.
    The name of the Vista says it all: Vista Beta 2 version - this is a beta version. It is not official on the market with many bugs.
    Perhaps his works on desktop computers, but as you know laptops are different.
    I think that we must wait for a version of the end and the drivers of Toshiba.
  • Toshiba laptop drive automatic error Code 10
    Im getting a code 10 on my laptop drive automatic backup of toshiba. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling just says cannot start the device. I think im missing a hardware device driver, but I can't find this driver anywhere online. Can someone please help:)
    Hello Chan,
    I found your posts on the Toshiba site, I take it no luck with the new replica? Also, have you tried to contact Toshiba technical support? It seems that they have heard of this problem before (based on many previous occasions this problem came) .f you don't have, I would say that you communicate with them.
    That said, two possible solutions from another thread which may apply to your situation:
    1. Sometimes if a USB port not properly initialize on startup Windows installs a "unknown device" driver by default. Of course nothing plugged port at this time won't work. Sometimes it can continue to attribute this driver on the same port on subsequent reboots. Search for all entries 'unknown device' under Controllers USB in Device Manager then uninstall them. Right click on "Find the hardware changes" or reset must be reinstalled the correct USB device driver.
    2. The problem with the hard drive occurs if you turn on the USB drive after that the computer was started? Some interfaces of USB drive can interfere with Windows to detect the USB controller that they are connected correctly. Only seems to happen if the player is powered on while Windows starts.
    I guess that Technical Support Toshiba offers these strategies you anyway, so you can as well try now them. Let me know if this helps you.
    Kind regards
  • Change of computer, Toshiba laptop, Windows 7 Administrator, after purchasing used PC
    I bought a used PC and have problems to connect to my wireless printer, etc., because the former owner is still recognized as the administrator. How can I change this while I'm in control of this machine? [Toshiba, Windows 7 Home Premium laptop]
    The first thing you should always do with a used computer is to format the HARD drive and reinstall windows, for two reasons.
    1. you have no idea of the status of the machine with respect to viruses, malware and I dare say, kiddy po * n
    2. this procedure allows you to start from scratch with your own user accounts.
  • Noron 360 sometimes cannot be started on Windows 8 when starting after a stop!
    Hello
    I have a desktop computer running Norton 360 first Edition version (current) 20.4.0.44 with the latest definitions for viruses on Microsoft Windows 8 Professional with Media Center. Norton 360 , sometimes fails to start on Windows 8 , when starting after a stop.
    Since I first installed the new version of 'version-less' 2013 Norton 360 on Windows 8, it sometimes does not start at startup after a stop and did not bother to mobilize support for that matter because I thought that Symantec or Microsoft could be aware of the problem and that an update or a patch will be available soon. Norton 360 prompted me to apply a new patch today, and after applying the patch, I have realized that the amended version of the version 20.3.0.36 to version 20.4.0.44. Moreover, I also noticed that the aforesaid problem with Norton 360 persists, and if my memory is good, Norton 360 sometimes also does not start after the resumption of hibernation. I used to put the computer to sleep and I never have this issue when hybrid sleep. For Norton 360 upward and run again, I usually just give the computer a reboot.
    I believe that the function "quick start" in power options Windows 8 are originally Norton 360 sometimes fails start. I haven't noticed this problem on computers that are running Windows XP or Windows 7. If Symantec or Microsoft may arrive at a solution to this problem without having to turn off the quick start of Windows 8feature, I would be very grateful!
    Kind regards
    Hi Doug,.
    Kindly let me know what Norton product, you try to use, and if download you the latest version of the internet, or you install a version earlier than either downloaded or a disc? Please also post the specifications of your computer and operating system incl. architecture and the edition you are running.
    Regarding your question: are you affected by the same problem that I did? Only Norton only lack of start from time to time, or Norton fails it run continuously?
    If Norton sometimes does not start on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 8:
    Disable the "quick start" function in Windows 8 by going to the bar of charms > settings > Panel > material and audio > Power Options > Choose this as the power button , then click on change settings that are currently unavailable, uncheck the enable fast start (recommended) and click on save changes. Restart your computer to test if Norton starts up. If Norton still does not start, uninstall Norton completely, restart your computer, download and run the latest version of Norton removal tool from Symantec website, computer restartyour once more. Then download the latest version of your Norton product either downloading the trial, or you connecting to your Norton account if you have a valid subscription and clicking on the button to download next to your subscription. Install the latest version of your Norton product and manually run the direct updated until all the updates and hotfixes without restarting have been installed and no updates are available before stopping or restarting your computer!
    If Norton does not at all on a computer running Microsoft Windows 8:
    Uninstall Norton completely, restart your computer, download and run the latest version of the Norton removal tool from Symantec website, computer restartyour once more. Then download the latest version of your Norton product either downloading the trial, or you connecting to your Norton account if you have a valid subscription and clicking on the button to download next to your subscription. Install the latest version of your Norton product and manually run the direct updated until all the updates and hotfixes without restarting have been installed and no updates are available before stopping or restarting your computer!
    Please feel free to ask me more questions about, or contact me if you have problems, uninstalling, reinstalling, downloading, install the latest version of your product, Norton , or if you are having trouble updating your Norton product! I would also gladly provide via TeamViewer remote assistance, if you need my help!
  • New PC Toshiba laptop, Windows 8 is broken
    I just bought a laptop Toshiba p70 brilliant, pre-loaded with windows 8. Ive tried to get my bearings as im much more familiar with XP, but im having a problem serious.
    Windows Update does not work. (I tried the application of the resolution of the problems, it just gets stuck start bits service after her stop them)
    Windows store does not work. I discovered this when I read that the application Microsoft Fix - It has been recommended to solve the above problem. He told me that the application was not made for my version of windows, so I tried to go to 8.1 and I can't.
    Windows Firewall does not illuminate. It's just the habit. I click Activate, and he sits there and doesn't do a thing.
    IM handcuffs here. The solution is a new problem. I can't update, I can't upgrade. I can't solve the problem because theres more problems. The laptop has 16 GB of ram, i7 processor, im not working do not with a dog here, and microsoft has just completely dropped the ball.
    I'd also like to mention is my Toshiba Service Station will not be updated. I have Internet connectivity, Firefox and IE works, but what's new more I explore the more white screens stuck loading I receive. That's why I tried to update. Ad nauseam.
    My last laptop was a l300 preloaded with Vista. And I worked around it for all of 2 weeks before the headaches became so crazy I have she dumped for XP. But this laptop was underpowered, under Vista and had much more flexibility with XP.
    ID rather not have to drive all the way back to Future Shop to the difficulty a lot of questions that have nothing to do with them. Ive google of these problems, but I don't know where to start. I tried stop bits in the command prompt and it used to do. Besides, why should I pay for software that needs to be painstakingly repaired? Instead of spending hours searching, I say drop a line here could raise some results while I move on to sift through thousands of threads on this site among other people trying to get a functional operating system operational. Any ideas?
    I owe you guys an apology. I solved the problem last night. While exploring the center of the action, I noticed that the firewall was turned off and I could not activate it. I opened the windows firewall settings and found the problem. Norton internet security operated instead of the firewall. It came preloaded on the phone, but I had never him has allowed or enabled services, but it is running. Have a deep hatred seed its garbage software and symantec, I removed all traces of it from the computer. Alto, EACH issue is resolved.
    So is this Toshiba who charge this extra software on the operating system? Because he does not play well with windows. Once again I apologize for being quick to blame microsoft, my vista experience is to blame.
    If support engineers, you first recommendation for software questions should be remove any Symantec software before troubleshooting. Maybe add it to the windows defender malware definition files as it might as well be a virus itself.
    Thank you.
