  I think that these two services might be part of some tools (perhaps tempro) tool of Toshiba which informs about the new Toshiba driver updates, etc.
  But if you want you could disable this by using the msconfig.
  It is a useful tool because you can enable and disable the background process without deleting the registry.

• Qosmio X 300 - silent box is not on Toshiba button support

  The buttons on top that light up on my Qosmio X 300 did not work, but I managed to get their work with the help of this forum in uninstalling and reinstalling the program relevant.

  Now I need each of these buttons assign a function using toshia support button, I want to reassign the mute button operation (put on mute sound but mute is not on the drop down menu, I hope this will make sense thanks for your help in advance)

  I guess you started to Toshiba button support, but the drop down is empty. Now the buttons are listed. Is this correct?

  I guess it's a software problem. Guys have reported this issue in this forum. I guess the system is confused upward. I put t know if reinstallation of added value package would help.

  Someone has solved this uninstallation of the VAP, cleaning the registry with CCleaner and reboot of the system.
  Its worth a try, but in case this does not work, the installation of the entire windows system / recovery may be the only solutions. But there is a drastic procedure just to get the mute button to work.

• Toshiba will support the Vista drivers for laptops or older?

  Does anyone have information on the support for older laptops that can run vista, like Tecra M2. Vista runs very smooth, it's very bad that there is no available for this model toshiba software.

  I'm also older non-Vista capable notebook. Vista works well, but without specific stuff from Toshiba. I'm not 100% sure but I put t think Toshiba will support older models. I'm also sure that no manufacturer specifications support units without Vista capable sticker.

  Hi all

  for all people having the same problem - * Support Button Toshiba do not work after the installation of VMware Workstation.*

  Short solution:
  After the installation of vmware workstation 6.x or 7 - the default setting is "Disable Autorun on the host". (you can find it in: Edit-> preferences-> devices). Release the hook and restart. After the reboot, the buttons should be working.

  The long version:
  Support Button Toshiba uses the Windows function "MobilePC" - > "Hotstart". HotStart only works when the autostart feature is not disabled (the value of registry key: + HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Po licies\Explorer\NoDriveTypeAutoRun + has the value 0xFF). VMware is the default to disable Autorun of CD/DVD. Turn on the autorun, restart the Qosmio and Hotstart (and also Toshiba button support) works very well. That's the problem.

  In your ad on Satellite 1800, you wrote about mobile Australian. Because of this, I don't think that the Toshiba UK media is the right address for you. I'm sure they will say that you should contact Australian support. I guess you're wondering why?

  On the world market, Toshiba does not work as a business. The global market is spread over a few different areas and especially there are differences (hardware and software) between laptops designed for European, American, Asian or Australian market. Because of this, you should always try to contact the right support.

  The updates to the BIOS, image of the installations, tools and utilities are not universal for all models of Toshiba laptops.

  I bought a Tosh laptop about a year ago and I like to keep programs and services up-to-date.
  When I visited the site the other day, I noticed that my laptop model is now discontinued... someone else in the family just got a new laptop Tosh and I noticed lots of Toshiba Basic programs and services are much more recent than mine.

  No one knows how long we receive updates for? End of warranty? End of production?
  I downloaded Tosh a similar, more recent programs and they work just fine - I don't know why my previous updaters of Tosh software does not give them to me. Of course, some newer models will have some new features that are not compatible with mine.

  Everyone has noticed this on their laptop?
  Very quickly after the purchase, the support of software dries...

  I attended the launch of Windows 7 and received a ultimate disc that is just lying there.
  I think of "slipstreaming" latest updates in it, and I notice that I can add a new driver updates. I'm starting to think the software of my laptop has reached the end of the line for the backup and restore - slipstreaming a Windows disk at retail with the newer programs of Toshiba and drivers maybe better for future reinstallation. What other users think / do?

  You can always download the drivers, tools and utilities for Toshiba laptops even if the laptop is no longer available on the market.
  Even drivers for the very old computers Toshiba notebook are read by download.

  I found that none of the two usb ports can handle ethernet via the usb port. This is a usual Linux feature - when you connect two computers with a usb cable, it can function as a network interface.
  Surprisingly, C660D-178 appears to be the very first machine, with that I found that it doesn't work.

  USB never tested and used by Ethernet but there is a tool called USB Over Ethernet
  It s 15 days trial version and compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7

  You can try to test this using a version of Windows in this case you can know if it s linux question or maybe this feature is not supported by the hardware

  I think that this field allows an option button (or maybe a shortcut in option) that would start the tool placed in the field target.

  Use the certification tab in support.oracle.com. Select the product and release (IE. Database Oracle, 11.2.0.3.0) you want to check, let 'all' selected under the platform, and then click search. The results will be grouped for you. If you expand the Group of operating systems, you will get a list of distributions/versions for each supported operating system. I hope it's clear enough for you.

  Does anyone know if virtual printing is supported on PCoIP when clients connecting from Linux based on?

  I work well with XP (or XPF) virtual printing clients who connect on PCoIP for view 4.5 XP VM.

  But does not work when connecting to the same virtual light based client Linux machine.  HP thinpro t5745.

  It works on thin client based on Linux, the connections to the VM even RDP Protocol.

  I have a HP LaserJet 2100 printer IP address definined network locally.  Works very well on the spot and when connecting from XP.

  This matrix is 1 1/2 years old, but I thinkit is still valid. There is no TP / Virtual printing support for the Linux Client.

• Host kernel taken Linux supported for vmware Server 2?

  VMware is advertising that VMware server can be installed in 64 bit, Linux, but that's not true. I can't install it in one of my 64-bit Linux host. Only legacy distributions are supported. I use openSuse 11.2 64 bit or Ubuntu 9.10.

  Is it true that VMware is NOT recent Linux kernels of Pentecost compatible 2.6.3x? Only legacy host kernels Linux is supported?

  When this catastrophic situation will be fixed in the new version of Pentecost?

  None of the patches to install VMserver or workstation on more recent than AFAIK 2.6.26 kernels are officially released by VMware.

  If you really think that you need a core of bleeding edge, you must use these patches not supported.
