TOSHIBA Power Saver won't work on the account with limited privileges

Good day to all.
I have old Satellite 1410 and for security, I am working on an account with limited privileges. I can't start Toshiba Power Saver, I get "access denied" message.
I need to remove energy saver and I use Control Panel Power Option, but I can not here the default brightness.
Can someone help me?

Janusz

Without system administrator privileges, many system options are locked and could not be used.

  • TOSHIBA Power Saver does not work with the limited user account

    Hello
This same question has been posted in 2006 - not by me - with no successful response. I try again.
If you create a user with the account of restrictions (member of the local USERS group) under XP, it cannot manage or power options Windows embedded and the Toshiba Power Saving tool.
I managed, working on the file and registry permissions, to have power options Windows works. But I can not yet launch the Toshiba Power Saving tool, it always skip - rises the box 'you have no rights. "

Is there really anything I can do to work around this problem?

    Thank you

    Yes:

    Log in as administrator
    Run the Toshiba Power Saver
    Go to "configuration Options".
Check "Allow Limited user to change settings"

  • TOSHIBA Power Saver software is turn off the optical disc drive, and I'm unable to re - turn on the power.

    Original title:

    Aloha!

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio x 775-3dv78 running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.
Similar to another old post here, I have an intermittent problem where the Toshiba Power Saver software is off the ODD (a Matshita UJ240EF - BD - RE) and I am unable to turn on the power.  To put the ODD back on, it's a matter of restarting (sometimes several times) until the STRANGE somehow turns on.
Sometimes, when I do a hot or cold boot, a window opens asking me if I want Toshiba Power Saving technology to turn ON the ODD.
I click 'Yes', but the drive remains switched off.
I also try to use function - same key controls... The STRANGE remains turned off.
    Here are the "best":
As described in the former post office, inside the Windows power settings, there is a slot layout titled "TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings v8.9.9.64".
In this context, normally there is ONLY a framework for 'cooling method.  BUT only when the ODD is disabled, a second parameter appears to "Optical Drive Power".
Change that on ONE for battery and plugged in fact NONE no difference... The STRANGE remains OFF!
Toshiba support is of no help.  Their answer to this problem is to run a 'Mr Fixit' which I discovered just unrecognized devices and then removes the upper and lower filters for the reader.  This "difficulty" might work from time to time... when it does, the ODD is somehow transformed into a 'removable' instead of one device ATA device.
But then in a few days, the STRANGE turns off again.
Something different maybe notable, I found after that I continued services and the related process, programs is that the version number on the Toshiba modules show "8.9.6" - not the "8.9.9.64" in the window Power Options.
And before you ask (LOL!) what's happening on a soft reinstallation of the operating system by the media of recovery Toshiba with all Windows 7 updates applied.
While I'm waiting for a possible response, I'll do the following:
Uninstall and reinstall all THE software Toshiba provided duty with the STRANGE (energy saving, combustion, players, etc.)
I will also shoot material part and make sure that the STRANGE is well inserted in the connector (IDE?) and that the connector is firmly attached to the motherboard.
IF who does things, I'll update this message and inform you all.
Otherwise, any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Mahalo!

  • Toshiba power saver won't open

    Hello

I recently started to use a whiteboard interactive in school and every minute or so, if I don't use the computer turns itself off screen Board. Then after 5 minutes, the computer HARD drive stops and I have to press the power button again. When I go into control panel - power options I am told to close windows power options and Toshiba power save.

Then a window opens which has tabs such as the management of food etc, but nothing is "BOLD" - all light grey options and I can not select anything. I see there that the monitor is set to turn off after 1 minute and the computer mode sleep after 5 minutes, but I can't seem to him to change anything. I tried as a user and as an administrator. Please help - other teachers in the school with the same problem - we and children driving NUTS!

    Hi Justine,.

This behavior is quite correct for your laptop. By accessing the power management settings in the Control Panel, you open the options of Microsoft rather than the specific Toshiba. The result is a power management window which ' greys on "options when you hover the mouse over them.

The solution is to use the Toshiba power management options that are obtained from the Console to Toshiba. There is usually a shortcut on the desktop to it, otherwise it can be launched from the start-menu > all programs.

Here, you will be able to tailor the behavior of your laptop to your individual needs.

  • 10 TECRA, toshiba power saver does not work on vista

I can change the options of the program of toshiba power saver 3.2.0 as cooling method (performance, max, optimized, cooling performance optimized battery) in the parameters Panel / battery /... or directly in the BIOS but
-values in the bios and in the control panel settings are not interconnected
-regardless of the value (in the bios and in windows settings), there is no noticeable change in the method of cooling with the fan speed
-There is a warning message in the battery Control Panel, who said: the changes are not allowed with toshiba power saver program.

You are logged as administrator? Maybe your user account is limited.

Also update the BIOS with the latest version. You can download it from the Web from Toshiba website.

I have two user accounts, now I forgot the password of an account with administrative privileges, how can I reset or remove this password

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
After solving this problem, plan in advance and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare House key.

    Hello

where you´ve have downloaded the powersaver? Maybe you downloaded a bad for your machine. It s absolutely important to download EXACTLY this software that fits your type of machine.
When you download stuff on toshiba Web sites you will have to keep an eye on the version on your machine (for example the Satellite A100 - 552-> download software of type '552' of the Satellite A100 series).

Sometimes, this solves a lot of mistakes and clarify some not very nice situations.
Please, more details on your problem. :)

    Welcome them

Hi, I can not install driver of toshiba power saver on my laptop because instalation crashes with error 1610: the configuration data for this product are damaged. My second problem is with the battery, my laptop running on battery max 10 minutes (I have my laptop for 2 years) and I often force using battery power. Battery can lose so much capacity in 2 years even if I used for my battery once a week?

Sorry for the English and thx for answer

I think that you should not install this driver, the only saving electricity only.
What about the battery? In my opinion, it is possible. In my opinion, the duration of battery life cannot be defined so easy.
Some batteries perform well after 3 years of use, and some of them are dead after only a year.

You must go to the window power options and change the POWER SCHEMES drop-down back to ECONOMY of ENERGY TOSHIBA. Except if it is positioned like this energy saving windows will always be the default.

When I click on the toshiba power saver icon in the Control Panel, it says "cannot open as the toshiba power saver does not work, go to power options, toshiba power saver, select power schema list box in page scheme of power." What is an ati graphics accelerator? It seems that every time I turn on my computer. It is said that an ati Graphics Accelerator can use a TV to my computer display. It is recommended to use a TV to display my computer, I'll have to make sure your TV display is enabled, if I do not use the TV to display my computer, I have disable for optimal performance (higher discount rate). What should I do?

    Post edited by: sa008

    Hello

    I wonder about your message
    Why?
because the Toshiba Power Saver was not preinstalled on Equium L20.
A Toshiba power saver doesn t exist for the L20 series!
There is nothing on the page of the Toshiba driver too

Therefore, the GST will not work on this laptop!

  • Toshiba power saver and limited account

    Hello

I did a limited Windows account.
TOSHIBA Power Saver does not work in a limited account.
And I see no symbol in the system tray.

    What can I do?

(Satellite Pro 2100, Windows XP Pro)

Well, I'll try to add change the rights on this tool.
You can select energy saver and change permissions on the (limited) user name.
    Change for total control.

In addition, you can set the energy saver shortcut in the startup of the limited account folder.
I think that the path should looks like this:
    \Startlimited user accountC:\Documents and Settings\

In this case, the energy saver should start at the beginning of the year and should appear in the taskbar.
