Toshiba Recovery DVD and new partition

Hello

1. my Toshiba Satellite M40x-230 came with a recovery DVD.
2. the HARD disk had only a single partition to 80 GB, but I divided by 2, so that I can keep my personal files in one (of :))

My recovery DVDs would allow me to keep the D: drive and reinstall only the stuff on the C: drive?

I don't want to try, just in case he proceeds to the removal of the partition!

Please notify.

Hello

Yes, it will allow you to install the OS on the C partition. You should just use the installation in expert mode. On this forum, you will find a large number of subjects with description how to do this.

  • How to access the Recovery Console for "fixmbr" with Toshiba Recovery DVD?

    Hello

I searched but did not find all related messages, I start a new thread.

I have to fix the MBR and normally you can do this via the recovery XP and then Console "fixmbr". As you may know Toshiba Recovery DVD know only in a sense - the way hard "format hdd or first partition".

    * How can I fix the MBR on the standard MBR MS when no original XP installation disk/DVD is usable - Toshiba Recovery DVD are available
tried the XP CD from my office... but you know... it doesn´t work.

    Additional information:
I deleted my HARD disk partition table and cannot access the first partition to a partition that would be very useful that I could try to recover this partition later - but I can't. My A200 SatPro also comes without floppy disk but can boot from USB.

    Thanks for any answer!

Yes, the thing with the recovery console fixmbr should do the trick, and I am a bit surprised that your XP from your other computer disk does not work.

You are not able to boot from it, or what is the exact problem? Because you will not be able to repair with your recovery disk.
Advise you to try another original XP disc, may borrow from a friend and try again. You may need to change the boot priority to operate.

  • Creating recovery DVDs and deletion of Partition

I just finished installing all my stuff on my new SSD and my question is: once, I created my own personal recovery DVD I'll be able to use their ounce is deleted the recovery partition itself?

I deleted the recovery partition in the past because I have the factory installation discs and I simply don't have the 15 GB recovery partition.

What I noticed is that once the partition went the Recovery Manager no longer has the ability to create custom recovery DVD.

I found another similar to this thread where Cheryl gave a few options of third party software that will do the same thing as the Recovery Manager, but I would still have my first question answered.

    my laptop is a 1000cto of t dv8

    Thank you

If you create the recovery DVD using the HP disc creation software you can do what you want with the score after that, but who has been allowing these recovery disk software is registered, so you will not be able to use the HP recovery tools, you will need to use the disks.

the recovery disks don't care if there is a recovery on the HARD drive partition. the discs are for a Worst Case Scenario. Say a virus has infected the HARD drive, or you install a new HARD drive.

  • Tecra R940 - error upgrading to Win 8 via Toshiba recovery DVD

    Hi all

I just bought this brand new Tecra R940 dealer of Toshiba in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, about three weeks ago.

The machine is with preinstalled and activated Windows 7 Professional. In the area were also two recovery DVD Windows 8 Pro. The seller specifically says that the machine comes with Windows 7 with a "free" update for Windows 8 on two DVDs.

Now, I didn't really set Windows 8 business (I've tried a few times in the past and didn't care much for him - of course), so after that I set up the machine and install all my software and updates, I created a Windows 7 system image and decided to try again to Windows 8.

So, I jumped the first two DVDs in the drive and rebooted. I pressed F12 and tried to boot from the DVD drive and... nothing! I kept getting the error "non system disk or disk error; Press any key to continue. "I tried several times but nothing helped, so I started only in Windows 7.

    What I'm missing here?

    Thanks in advance,
    Shady

    Hello

Before you start do something please create Windows 7 preinstalled using recovery media creator Toshiba recovery media. Later if you want to have Windows 7 once again you can install it using this recovery media only.

Back to your problem. Now if you want to install Windows 8 using sent discs please change the settings of the BIOS first.
How to do that you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm

  • Satellite U400-183 - need Recovery DVD and AHCI drivers

    Hello

I tried to reinstall Win Vista Home Premium to my Satellite U400-183. I used a DVD OS Win that came with my other laptop to other manufacturing and the key that came with my Toshiba laptop. Everything works beautifully, but in some areas of Windows is still some specific parameters of the manufacturing on the other. Now is it possible to get a DVD of Windows Vista Toshiba?

Another question is where can I get the AHCI drivers. There is only an exe file on the support site which I can't use during the installation of Windows. There must be some these .sys files, but I can't find them on the Toshiba site, so I had to install Windows in compatibility mode.

    Thanks in advance!

PS: Sorry for my bad English, I'm from the Germany...

    Hello!

A new recovery DVDs, you can get your local ASP (authorized service provider).
Or you order a DVD from Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

The AHCI drivers or let say Intel Storage Manager, you can download from the Toshiba site as you have already said.
The .exe file, you must check out to use during the installation, but with the recovery disk you n t need them.
Please read the readme file in the Storage Manager, there is an example how to extract it. Use the command line what it
    For example: - a - a - PC:------.

    Good bye

  • Question about drivers on Toshiba Recovery DVD

Has had a HARD drive failure and bought the product recovery DVD, many drivers are unsigned and therefore used to install. Would have thought that Toshiba drivers tire would be signed, have searched the forum for an idea on what to do about and can't find anything.

Did some general internet searches and found solutions, but I'm not sure if I should do these changes to the system.

    Any thoughts?

    Hey Buddy,

    > and so used to install.
    ???
If you install all the Windows Toshiba Recovery disk drivers and tools will install automatically. During the installation of recovery, no error message and everything will be done automatically. So, I do not know what you mean with the drivers won t install.

The fact is that all the drivers and tools (the entire contents of the recovery disk) is pretested by Toshiba and it works properly. Everything is tested and designed for a perfect use.

Death of as my computer is, I bought the latest iMac.

Except that, except in Quebec. On the last iMac, there is more DVD player at all.

What makes that I always have Creative Suite with me, I can still, technically, install the software, and I have no want to payer again a subscription to Photoshop Creative cloud, while I still have CS3.

I got the number of the license of the product with me, I went in part to "save an old product" on the Adobe site, of the but it doesn't...

Do you have any idea how to proceed pour recover CS3?

You said that you have inserted Win 8 DVD to do a cover of the plant.

You use the Microsoft Windows 8 DVD or do you use the Toshiba Recovery DVD 8?

I put t know which model of laptop you have, but on newer models preinstalled with Win 8 some configuration changes are needed in order to boot from the disc.

In the BIOS, you must disable secure boot and have switch to MSC mode

  • Equium A200-1V0: is it possible to create a new Toshiba Recovery CD

    Hello

I just wanted to know on Equium A200-1V0 I'm able to make the recovery CDs and DVDs?
I just found this link (http://209.167.114.38/support/TechSupport/TSBs/ALL/-TSB001019.htm) that if I choose option 3 does that mean you can make CDs recovery and recovery dvd. This recovery method apply to Equium A200-1V0?

Second thing, it is that someone can tell me what type of card mother Equium A200-1V0, if possible to his specifications.

Last thing. When this model was released?

Well, I have this laptop but will buy the first week of the new year. Just do a little research.

Help with this will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

Don t think you will be able to create an own Toshiba Recovery CD.
In the document of Toshiba, you can see this info:

Only templates that come with it "Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility" (ie: Tecra A2)

It seems that the Equium A200 was already delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and you have no need to create a new.
The procedure described above applies to the Toshiba laptop computer which were delivered without the recovery CD

Best regards and happy new year ;)

  • Should I in fact this recovery DVD - Equium A200-15I

    Hello

I have a laptop Equium A200-15I series. For reasons too long to describe here, I don't have the DVD of master restoration - it was not provided with the product and after that a long period, I was told that I would have to pay for it. Not fair, but there you go!

My request is that the hidden partition on the laptop is still there and what I want to know is that can still recover my windows Vista environment by hitting the F8 key at startup upwards and crosses the screen of recovery without the DVD Master procedure or do I absolutely this disc.

I am aware that all media that comes with the DVD won't be available, but this isn't a problem.

    I hope someone can help

    Best regards

    Hello Seamus

To be honest, I'm a little confused, and at first, I just want to clarify something. Notebooks (A200 series) are supplied with recovery DVDs and these books have no recovery image on the HARD disk and you cannot install the OS by using advanced startup options (F8).

New laptops like A300 models are supplied without recovery media and recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and there is a possibility to install the OS without recovery DVDs. The recovery image is saved on the second partition in HDD Recovery folder. Drive HARD recovery can be done if this folder is not removed.

If you want to have the factory settings again you need recovery (DVD) image. You can also purchase Microsoft Vista DVD facilities and install your own operating system. All the drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba supports the page. Of course some other software like Norton or WinDVD player are not downloadable.

  • Recovery disk to a partition on Portege M300

    Hello

I reinstalled my xp win since another cd of xp on portege m300 laptop and does not burn a recovery disk hard of the with windows that provided thoshiba computer, with his comments today that you burn your own backup instead of they send you an original cd of win xp. I want a cd backup/recovery cd now and I see that they compartmentalized (or what his name) a separate 2, 5 GB hd with the name "HDDRECOVERY".

This resulted in my windows has installed on E: cause it's a 2, 5 GB partioned HDspace C: windows called and I could choose E: to install win xp and I didn't erase the siloed 2, 5 GB of space. I toughed I somehow could access this file of 5 GB HD 2, but it dosen´t show in 'my conputer' in the windows disk management tools not. You can't do anything in this manegmant tool so that it can show in "my computer". I would like to access this area and burn this HDDRecoveryfile so I can get my respective windows that followed when I bought the computer from the win xp serial that is provided under this cumputer did not work with my new cd of win xp.

PS. How to install windows on C: If the installer of windows think that c is the 2, 5 GB partioned file? I don't want to delete it.

    Hello Andrew

The situation with the Portege M300 is a bit complicated, but I'll try to explain. Portege M300 (I believe only in Germany) is delivered without Recovery DVD and also Tools & Utilities CD. The two of them can be created by the user, but only if the appliance is preinstalled at the factory. The unit of the factory preinstalled with original image contains a tool called Recovery Disc Creator. With this tool, you can create the two media. There is no way to do it without this tool.

Unfortunately this tool you can not find on the Toshiba download page. Because of this, you can keep that partition on the HARD drive but it has no sense at all. You have your own OS preinstalled without Recovery Disc Creator.

    There are two solutions:
    1. you can format entire HARD drive, create clean partitions and install own OS using all things, that you can find on the Toshiba download page.
2 contact authorized please partner in your country. They may try to order the original DVD of recovery for you. If this recovery DVDs is not available the service partner can make factory settings again but with costs.

That s all I know Portege M300 and preinstalled software. If you have any other questions, please write again.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite m40x-249 "product Recovery DVD" in the other language

    Hello

    so, here's my problem

I bought my laptop in Germany over 2 years ago that I live in Poland
with her, I have produced recovery DVDs, German edition of course
but my disk got zero terrible and I can't use it anymore

is it possible to get a new one, not specifically in German, it can be in Polish (I prefer) and how much it will cost me?

and I can make my own recovery DVDs, I already installed XP from another cd, found most of the drivers I needed (from site Web from Toshiba) but still i find some:

    DLA V4.95BUILD490B69B
    InterVideo windvd 5.0B11.475 - I0203
    V8.02.05 warranty booklet
    manuals V5.16
    Save now V7.22BUILD720B80E
    secure module SD V1.0.2
    Toshiba zoom hook V2.31.0.2C

Anyone know where I can find them, I would be grateful

    THX in advance

Other tools are only additional software that are provided with the laptop.
This software is only available on the Toshiba Recovery CD and cannot be downloaded.
All Toshiba drivers are published on the Toshiba page!

If you wish, you can order the recovery CD of the ASP where you bought the laptop. In you case it s Germany.
Finally and most importantly the recovery CD can be ordered only in the same language.
If you bought the laptop in Germany, you will only get the recovery in relevant language CD.

I'm not sure about the cost but it must be very cheap!
Contact the ASP and simply ask!

  • Convert recovery Recovery DVD or USB HARD drive bootable disk

    Maybe someone can help me.

    * System: *.
    Toshiba Satellite L-300-1AY
    Model #: PSLB8E

I had to replace my HARD drive due to the failure; new drive works OK. I restored my SW to an old backup made by Acronis using a USB to start Acronis recovery and DRANK files on my external USB HDD.
I have restored the drives C and D as well as WinRE.
I want to reset the system to factory State and start all over again!

Unfortunately, I can not do a factory using F8 restore, because this option is now not available to me more. F8 suggests restore from optical discs

So I charge my DVD recovery disc I made a long time ago. to my surprise, the ODD does not read the disc. I can't read any CD or DVD, and I assume that my ODD is dead. I checked the DVD media on another computer: they are OK.

On another system, I created a rescue with Parted Magic CD. My STRANGE drive could read this CD although very slowly: surprise!

    * My QUESTION *.
    * I would like to create a bootable USB drive where I want to do a factory restore without using my odd.*

I have the Toshiba Recovery DVD discs, I have a copy of the SW recovery, which normally resides on the D drive, I have a copy of Windows re.

Already, I have created a bootable USB key that I copied the contents of the Recovery DVD. Start on the key works fine but it gets stuck fast because it is waiting for drive (STRANGE) E to prepare. (Eventually!) seems obvious that these disc is intended to be used on a WEIRD drive.

Is it possible I want to do?
