Toshiba Satellite A135 laptop: 0xc000000f - Windows Vista Boot error - > recovery disk does not work, can't get the PC to boot.

I have read all the info out there and tried many things including using the provided by Toshiba, Vista recovery disks

I can't go down the screen of boot error, although no matter what I try.

Is my drive into two partitions, and I am ready to sacrifice one of them if necessary to get the computer to boot.

Is there a way I can enter directly into the computer and reinstall windows?

I'm not a pro, then simple instructions are the best.

THX

  • Satellite L350-170 - recovery disk does not work

    Hello

    I have a L350-170 running Windows Vista home, I recently buy a Toshiba restore CD and now that it's happened, it does not work.

    I put in the CD and boot from the CD drive, I can hear work and the display shows "Windows loading files" and a bar appears at the bottom of the screen, after that, the screen turns white and all I'm left with is a pointer of the mouse and a black screen.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Have you tested if the laptop would start using another bootable Linux Live CD, WinPE or Win XP disc?
    Please check that would help determine if the problem is related to the computer laptop or recovery disk.

    Please also check if the HARD drive is ok. For this test, you can use a test called Drive Fitness Test free HARD drive tool. Google for it.

    However, it could also be a defective recovery disc and in this case, you should get in touch with the guys where you ordered this drive may be you need a replacement.

  • Satellite C650 - error reading disk and the recovery disk does not work

    Hello

    I have a toshiba Satellite C650, who has recently developed with a disc read error. I want to access the command prompt to try some possible solutions I've read on the internet.

    I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other acer laptop which has also installed Windows 7 64-bit. When I use the recovery disk and it loaded the files etc it evokes just a black screen and the cursor.

    Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
    I tried to start my computer acer laptop from the recovery disk and it worked fine.

    As is - this does anyone have suggestions as to why I get the message "disk read error - press ctrl, alt and delete to restart?

    Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    On this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis, but of course, there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Can you get a second one for test purposes and exchange it. Just to be sure if the HDD is troublemaker.

    But there is something else:
    > I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other computer acer laptop...
    Sorry, but I don t understand this. Can you please explain what you did exactly?

  • C870-121 satellite recovery disk does not work?

    Hello...

    I have a weird problem, I bought the computer 6 months ago and have been happy with it, but I'm protected by a kind of virus and all the operating system has been * ed big time, so yesterday I want to da a factory install with recovery disks that I created when I bought the computer.

    I have the Toshiba system recovery DVDs 4 disc, I insert the sytem disc and look as it should, it loads and then it ask disc of recovery disks, insert disk 1, and after 10 seconds it ejects again and claim a disc again.

    I checked the 5 discs on my other computer and there are data on them and they look good, I tried to insert the discs to see if I'm past them when I printed on them, nothing works, it simply will not recognize disc and I'm stuck? Any help from anyone?

    I'm sure that's not material that are bad, because I had an old windows XP disk, and after that I tried everything, I tried to install on the computer and everything was fine, but I would like to have windows 7 as the computer came with...

    Regards Allan Thomsen

    Hello

    Very strange boyfriend
    Would it be possible that the CD/DVD drive is unable to read the first disc correctly?
    I mean, maybe it's a disk problem and not the problem with the data

    I don't know what's wrong here, but you have some a lot of m options here:
    To recover the laptop, you must use the Toshiba recovery disks or HARD drive recovery
    You can use the HARD drive recovery process?
    Turn on the device, press F8, choose fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery.

    If this is not possible? Well. You can always order a new disc here:

  • Satellite A30 - 203 - recovery disk does not work

    Hi all

    I have an old Satellite A30-203 and have a problem. I tried to format my laptop but the product recovery cd does not seem to work in deletion the data on my disk, its becomes blocked during loading files of ntfs? Now I am not able to retrieve a windows session would I need a new product recovery cd and would be able to get it?

    Thank you

    Hi dimation,

    It is difficult to say what is the reason of this but made is either it s a laptop problem itself or the recovery disc (e.g. scratches) causes this problem.

    In my opinion the best way to check this using a Microsoft Windows disk. If the installation completed successfully, you need a new recovery disk. As a result, you can ask a service provider authorized in your country! :)

    all over again with new factory. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Vista still labels the d drive, I have no C?

    I found the answer on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    Item number: 947288 primary partition drive letter designation is lost when you use WinRE to repair a GPT in Windows volume

    The article is also for Vista.

    Article ID: 223188 How to restore the drive letter of the system / boot in Windows

    Would do the same thing.

    I took the article to use regedit to swap my C & D return records.

    Now windows Vista starts OK. (All I had before was just an empty office).

    I also received my HP Factory disaster recovery disks it looks they will work if I need.

    Help, please!?!

    I have a buyer waiting and everything seems to be Dutch!

    Hello

    It's not easy to say what's wrong with the 2nd recovery disk.
    I would recommend formatting the HARD drive completely and try again to recover the operating system. If it doesn't work, well try to contact Toshiba. Here, you can order the recovery CD. Maybe the problem of recovery will be solved as a gesture of goodwill.
    Nevertheless, the recovery cd is not expensive.

  • Satellite C670D - 11K - Toshiba recovery disks does not work

    I tried to recover the Satellite C670D - 11K using new factory system recovery disks provided by Toshiba. Both drives do their thing until the end when I get these messages:

    Files\mcafee\virusscan/dat\000.0\avvscan.dot c/program Error (error = 1117)

    Only option after this point is to press a button any and I get the white screen Toshiba

    When I turn on the laptop I get message "boot mgr is missing." I tried the disc of recovery a couple of times since and things don't get any better. In fact I just get a black screen with cursor after

    Suggestions this is appreciated please? I was thinking of buying the recovery disks would be a solution simple but should I give in and go to a professional now?

    Thanks, Paul

    I assume you are using recovery discs that you created using Toshiba recovery disc creator tool, right?
    It seems silly now, but something went wrong and I m afraid recovery disks are now useless. It turns out that you can't change anything or force the cell to the recovery image installs successfully.

    The only thing you can try is - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm
    I don't think this will help, but you can test it in any case.

    Now, you have two options:
    -for the restore disc original order from Toshiba
    -install the clean version of the OS by using the Microsoft installation disc

  • Windows Vista Home Premium System Restore does not work

    I didn't my laptop another year.  But whenever Vista does not turn right... too slow or what not I try and create a restore date to solve these problems, but whenever I do it always returns he tells me, "that system restore could not completely finished, so your files have not changed."   I'm so tired of NOT being able to fix my computer and it works fine!  Can someone please help?

    "But every time that Vista does not turn right. too slow or what not I try and create a restore date to repair these... »

    You can't do a restore point for the last week, today.

    You can do a Restore Point for today, so that next week, if necessary, you can restore to today.

    Think about it: How can you make a Point of restoration today something happened in the past.

    You should have in the past, if space allowed in SR, to come back to today.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Problems with system restore:
    http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/sharedtech.nsf/pfdocs/2005113009323013
    1. If you use Norton (Etc), disable it before using System Restore. info at the link above.
    2. try SR in safe mode:
    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
    3 Malware will stop at the system restore:
    If necessary, do all the work Safe Mode with network.
    To get into Safe Mode with network, press F8 at the Power On / boot and use key arrow upward to get into SafeMode with networking from the list of options, and then press ENTER.
