  Hello!

  I am struggling with this problem for months... the latest version of Eve on my toshiba satellite pro m30 running windows xp with service pack 1 installed gives a message box with an error message when the stop and I'm unable to eliminate this error. Unfortunately, I can't consider reinstall the system from scratch, because there are many other applications installed and I can't lose the settings for them. I read the forums and realized I'm not one of the problems with toshiba power saver. I'm even lucky to successfully at startup started it! Yet, it hangs at shutdown.   If your laptop is installed correctly it should work well. All the software has been tested. The only reason for your problem may be additional software that you have installed later.

  I have a portable Satellite Pro M30 and I try to install the modem driver. Everything is ok, but the modem has problem. In Device Manager, it seems to be fine without conflicts. Each time than trying to query the modem of the property page, it shows me a message concerning the opening of port.

  I read a lot of articles and I thing the problem, this is the version of the driver. The driver that I use is the SM2138ALD04 version. Have any ideas?

  I agree with you, I found also several threads to have reported similar problems with modems
  No doubt this procedure will help you:

  -go to the Device Manager and remove and uninstall the modem driver
  -Download the latest modem driver
  -restart the OS and reinstall the modem

  Hey all,.

  I have a Satellite Pro 6100 and when that I start my computer, my USB ports work fine. However, as soon as I wake, I get about 6 pop-up messages stating "USB device" unrecognized and my USB ports do not work.

  Device Manager indicates they work fine, so I'm just confused.

• Toshiba Satellite pro sp6000 starting problems

  I had problems with my sp6000 - it refuses to turn on most of the time. 1 in every 100 tries it could turn as nothing ever was. Normally if the green light turns to less than second, then disappears.

  I feel it maybe to do with the cdr/dvd combo player - as he reacts differently when it is deleted, tho I don't have another disc at hand to test this theoretical plan.

  If you think that the optical drive is the problem of your machine, try simply plug and try to start without him. That is supposed to work perfectly.

  My problem is when I turn on the PC and wait a few seconds red and white vertical stripes begins to appear on the LCD and it cannot go after the BIOS password screen.   you´ve got the alternative to get a PCMCIA Serial Port adapter.
  The Installation was easy to my laptop and runs without problems under Windows XP and 2000.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 with a nVidia go5200 graphics card. The nvidia Web page asserts that this graphics card has DVI support (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/fx_mobile_fb_5200.html) but I could not connect my apple cinema display to the computer.
  The screen is connected through a DVI vga, but I don't have a 'real' addaptor.

  Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

  According to the specification this device doesn't have a DVI - D port and there is no possibility to connect it directly to the unit. This unit video a VGA 15 pins port only. Google all over the place. Maybe you'll find a real adapter.

  I tried to find the drivers for my laptop on this site here, given that my original CD with the top drivers is lost. I was able to get to the section pilots where I entered the serial number of my laptop. After that, I get redirected to a website, which appeared to store everything you need for the Toshiba Satellite Pro M30. Unfortunately, it didn't show the "loading circle', no matter which section, I tried to access (for example"manuals"or"drivers", etc.).
  Then, I hit up the forums and read on 'archive', in which the drivers and other utilities for older, obsolete laptops are available. Unfortunately, this article was not available at all.
  In addition, my research efforts on Google didn't get anywhere.
  Could someone tell me what I have to do to get your hands on these drivers or, where there is not such an option, download me these drivers (for example on Megaupload.com) pack?

  In this case, you will need to use the 2.5 IDE HARD drive.
