Toshiba Software by disabling the automatic Wireless Configuration Service

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. When I start the system, the automatic Wireless Configuration Service is disabled and I have to go into Services and start physically whenever I start Windows (XP 32-bit sp3).

I think it's own software of Toshiba (Q-Connect/Summit?) it prevents start automatically with Windows, because everything else is as it should be.

Can you advise how to fix this so that the service always starts automatically and does not, during the trip, the settings for windows? Set up a wireless ad - hoc is quite difficult because there is no more headaches.

See you soon,.

John

Hey Buddy,

It s I don't know ConfigFree turns off this feature of Windows... As far as I know it s necessary service for all WLAN configuration tools

Is manual start automatically, or simply the value type? You must assign it automatically.

By the way: what laptop do you have?

    Hi Shane,

Looks like you have (or had) 3rd party software that previously managed your wireless connections, so casting service windows does not start automatically.

    See the following Article in the Microsoft KB, see if it suits it for you;

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/871122

    More precisely:

If your computer or your wireless network card came with its own wireless network software, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type ncpa.cpl and click OK.
    2. Click on network connections.
    3. In network connections, select your wireless connection, and then click change settings of this connection.
    4. On the wireless networks tab, click to select the Use Windows to configure my wireless network checkbox.

To start the automatic Wireless Configuration service, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc/s, and then click OK.
    2. Double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.
    3. In the list of Startup type , click Automatic, and then click apply.
    4. In the Service status area, click Start, and then click OK.

Let me know how you go.

  • How can I disable the automatic IP Configuration in Windows 7?

Is someone can you please tell me how to disable the automatic IP Configuration in Windows 7?  I am happy to change the registry to implement if necessary.

    Why?

Because my PC sometimes gives an IP address like 169.254.0.1.  This is because Windows has detected that your computer is connected to a network, but the PC has not yet given an IP address by DHCP on the network, so Windows Server the automatic IP Configuration comes in and gives the PC an IP address that starts with 16.254.

The reason why that the DHCP server on the network has not given an IP address was because the network is coming a few seconds before the DHCP server comes up, and the automatic IP Configuration Windows comes too quickly.

Of course, once the PC has an IP starting 169.254, he cannot communicate with my router that has an IP address that starts with 192.168.  The only cure, outside re-booting, is to issue the ipconfig/renew command to obtain an IP address from the router DHCP server.

If I can turn off the automatic IP Configuration of Windows (I could disable in XP) then I can avoid this error.

    One option that you have.

You can set the IP address to a static IP address.

    Reach:
    Beginning
    Control Panel
    Network and Internet
    Network and sharing Center

Click on connection to the Local network (a separate dialog box opens Local Area Connectin status)
Click on Properties (opens the dialog)
Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
    Click on Properties

On the general tab, move the radio button to use the following IP address:
Here you can set the IP address that you want to use the machine.

    Example of Configuration:
    192.168.0.254
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.0.1

You will need to note the IP DNS addresses you need more.
If you like you can even use a set of public DNS servers for free. http://www.online-tech-tips.com/cool-websites/free-DNS-server/

Please note that the sample configuration assumes routers IP is 192.168.0.1, check please. :)

    Good luck

  • WRT54G wireless did not cooperate with the automatic Wireless Configuration

Hello! I wonder if anyone can help me spot the problems I have here: for a while it was not too much a problem, but whenever I try to view the list of wireless networks, it gives the "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection. If you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that software. "I went in to find records WZC served and I unchecked/checked the option again to make sure it wasn't a source of the problem. Yet whenever I open the "Wireless network connection status" window I only gave 2 options on the tab. The general tab and the Support tab. The third tab is missing, one that would allow me to check the option to let Windows configure my wireless but I can't seem to be able to bring this tab back anything. Any help is appreciated a lot everyone, please and thank you!

That's the answer. It's something with XP that requires more troubleshooting. If other computers can connect, the router should be fine.

In any case, can you check the manufacturer's website if they have an updated driver for your wireless network card?

I love how the captain tells us what is good for us and allows us no easy way to change things.

AutoSave/Versions has been part of Mac OS X Lion. See these instructions. Save As will be in its normal position in all applications, and when you close the documents, you will be asked if you want to return (same result as the old do not save).

Versions and AutoSave will always run in background for the applications that use it. You can't really turn off without disrupting some application menus, but it's been at least OS X behave more like Snow Leopard or earlier version.
