Total radiated power units (PowInfo)

Hi, I'm a RESONATOR using AXIEM circuit design and I would estimate the radiative power loss. Specifically, I would like to know what fraction of power transmitted to port 1 of my design is lost in the form of radiation. Since it is a relative value, I expect a certain number of dB.

I created a measure (electromagnetic > antenna > PowInfo > radiated power) and specified use FSAMP to the x axis, generating a curve on my chart as expected.

How should I interpret the units of the graph resulting? Legend of the plot has the power radiated is given in dBm - then, units of power absolute. It seems that the absolute amount of radiated power would depend on the power used to drive the circuit. Such measures take a particular drive power and the port of entry, for example 0 dBm to port 1 of the circuit? I have not found such a specification in my search for the documentation.

Thank you!

Hello

Big question.

The piece you are missing according to me, is that in your configuration of structure EM, you configure the ports either be sources or endings for the analysis of the antenna.   Click on one of the ports and you will see the settings for these.   It becomes a little more complicated that any port can be a source.  By default, the first port is a source, and the rest are ports of endpoint that is probably what you want in your RESONATOR circuit.    The point being, it's that the radiated power must be a level of absolute power, as you drive your circuit with a level of absolute power.

I hope that explains what is happening.

Yes, I still think it's the battery.  If the computer is turned off but still plugged into the wall, food always provides a small amount of power to the motherboard to keep a ready"" State.  In fact, if you stop it, but keep it is plugged, you can send a packet to 'Wake-on-LAN' through the Ethernet that would then turn on your computer so you don't have to press any button at all.  This requires that some things are always under tension even when the rest of your computer is turned off.  Remove the plug from the wall removes this standby power and now the BIOS of your motherboard must hold his memory by falling back on the battery.

Ronss, no, it's not owner.  The best way to know if the standard ATX PSU will fit is to measure the existing PSU.  Find a new power supply that you like and that you access the manufacturer's Web site to compare the measures.

    Would what power you buy?

On your media card, allow the mass storage and move the files of your press simply pass through "My Computer" on your PC when connected via USB.

I just broke the pins on my diet revolving around the connector, so it snaps correctly and now my power supply is broken, not having is not a standard power unit that I seem to be a little drunk as there is no readily available alternative.

Shop Acer doesn't seem to work so can't get there guess that will teach me to go against the tide and buying a less known brand.

Any ideas where I can source one to the United Kingdom? The right pain as if I wanted to take away on vacation next week.

It's a little a problem, I think that for my own problem that the PSU is fine and just the casing broke I will either make a new door, or actually even easier to buy a charger iconia 18w of another model and transplant the inner workings and the connector.

  • Aurora r5 stock heatsync voltage problems with evga modular 750 watt power supply

The stock fan on the heat sink thermal condition of the R5 Aurora stock runs just as fast as it can while holding a 6700 k, you mind, at a steady temperature around 30 C idle. Previous the cpu and psu were almost silent, whereas now the fan seems to run to rpm max powered an EVGA 750 watt p2 modular power unit cpu1 slot. How can I reach the bios to lower the fan speed?

Yet, I am not "awake" not until the Caffè Verona + mix roast French kick. I do not have the model of your computer, but your service PDF manual available for download on the R5 Dell.com support page lists the Bios options, lists the right place to connect the fan to & lists the keyboard button to push to enter the Menu of the Bios. At a time like this, I could put back the original power supply in there, confirm the fan installs, if so, replace the new power supply in, see if again deploys spazzes

but I don't think it's the power supply

If your bios menu has no control of the fan speed, a swap of psu se do not spin faster or slower radiator fan. If you have ordered the 6700 k to the Fund, you would have power 850w. If you have installed the 6700 k yourself, using pneumatic radiator, it is possible the 95 watt cpu needs best, as the cooling liquid cooling. I see you're at 30 c idle, but it seems that the fan is bad fan... header check than 1st, see options in photo here: Alienware Aurora R5 - fan CPU 100%

    • Edit: @Hockeytown messaged me: "I eventually replaced the H80i Corsair GT for a 550LC Asetek ebay OEM pump. "This has solved my problem of fan and I am now able to connect via the (Top_fan + Pump_fan) factory setting and not errors.
    • @Hotarri installed Corsair H60

It is possible, the motherboard as expected 'react' different when deleting in the 6700 k; It is possible that since 6700 k factory liquid cooled, the spazzes motherboard when the owner puts 6700 k themselves but without cooling liquid, such as a small problem, uses one table different fan / or a set of parameters of the fan speed (6700 k + pneumatic radiator = incompatibility) that hopefully you can change in the Bios somehow somewhere but maybe not

It is possible that you can hand-place 3rd fan header 'pump', trying to fool the mother board, lol, see if the cpu fan slows down as a test. Still, I do not have this model, I think that the motherboard that waits for a signal fan/tachometer on the header of the pump in response to 6700 k, good luck with it

    Dear all

I recently bought a Toshiba NB 200-122 Mini Netbook, I tried to use all the power options (full power)... always shows 15% battery (charge) even if I kept it charging for a day in hibernation mode... (when connected to the power unit).

Other laptops would be fully load 100% when it is connected to the unit of power for one day...

Why the netbook battery is slow or not clean load?...
Or other options with her... Or having to drain the battery completely and use it...

Could someone suggest me some advice about this...

    Thank you

    regards Sarah

    Hi Sarah,.

I agree with the user above. You should try a BIOS update you can find the Toshiba site. Before applying it, close all programs running also your antivirus and firewall and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

In the worst case you battery is damaged or some cells in it. You can get a spare to an authorized service provider.

    Hello

I have an old y580 and love it! I've been running it since its release date. Unfortunately, my diet started to wear off and the cord pulled out of the unity of the adapter. Needless to say that Lenovo does not sell these power units and the liteon and delta recommend supistutes sells... in my research online, I came across "y580 feeds" but I noticed that they to 19 v not 19.5 and 6.3 No 6.15.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with this and knows if it of a big problem or will do the trick without limiting performance or damagaging my y580. Thank you!

It shouldn't with this difference.5. The laptop works at the voltage of the battery. The current capacity is larger and its fine. Polarity and the connector must be the correct type!

    Hello

Got the machine Satellite P10-304, which won't turn on after the 2nd attempt. What happened: -.

Machine power of cold - booted Windows XP ok start. After 5-10 minutes, the machine screen is dimmed (resembles backlight is gone) and couldn't turn off the machine by pressing button, so had to remove the battery to kill machine power.

Now machine won't turn on (same battery fully charged), when I pressed the power button, I get a light flashed orange once inside the circle of blue light around power button / stop.
Leave the machine shut down for about an hour and machine started in the BIOS screen, then after 3 minutes the screen is dimmed. Machine unbootable. Checked AC adapter and get 19.3Volts and 6.1Amp for power unit ok.

    Yes, it seems so :(

Maybe it s not the motherboard, but another part of the material. But to be honest, you should go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check the laptop to determine what the problem is exactly.

Hello Conner, I'm not a professional at all, not even close. I have 25 years and more cheating on her with these machines, perhaps a professional fool to fool with these machines. but we all need something to do in life.

The Antec, Corsair, OCZ and a few other feeds are very good quality power supplies.

When I suggested to stay away the lower cost ones, I meant those that cost like $19.99 - $29.99 or other similar costs in this range. There are a few low-cost power supplies out there who have some good reviews, but food is the most important in a computer, since everything in the computer runs power off from the power supply.

I always look at the reviews of others to get an idea of what other people have to say and the Antec page linked to over 500 positive feedback. It is a very unusual number, almost everyone who bought this power supply was happy with it.

I used the Antec years products and have never had a problem with their products.

  • Workstation Dell Precision T7400 will not power with ATI Radeon 5970 installed

    Hello

I had my dream, the monster bi - GPU ATI Radeon 5970 video card and installed in my T7400 but the system will not start, all I get is a fast fan rotation and a kind of sounds from food, a bit like "Brrrnt, click on" led me to believe that the power supply could not handle my video card.

The video card requires an 8pin and 6-pin power plug. When I plug the 8-pin and 6-pin and turn on the computer, is a no-go as shown above. When only the power plug 6-pin I plugged the PC sounds like it will start, the power of fans but no display as I expect.

I tried this video card into the two PCI-Express slots with the same failure as a result. The computer works fine with the Nvidia Quadro 3700 in it... using a 6 power connector pins.

I got the ATI Radeon HD 5970 video card in a store of the local computer and it had tested ($15) because I didn't test it in a spare computer and video card passed with flying colors...

That's why I thought my 1000 Watt power supply was a problem, so as a bet, I ordered a replacement off eBay and received a sweater to work more the wiring harness and completely replaced the two who has a job to say the least! Have you tried to replace the wire bundle? a lot of work...

I got it all back together, crossed my fingers and prayed and tried again and the same thing... NO LUCK... I put the graphic card Nvidia Quadro 3700 back in and the system of power like a charm.

What on earth could it be the cause for it? I REALLY want to get this video card works in this system.

I even tried a bios update and carefully watched the card mother and everything that I could to see if there's... nothing exploded capacitors...

Please HELP - I want to get my game...

    Wesley

I think I found the solution and I would like to mention it here to help others if they get him...

A: the power of Dell for the T7400 was designed to produce five rails 12 volts @ 18 AMPS each and the video card requires approximately 45 to 50 amps to work properly. Video cables (one with a 8 pin) and 6-pin on the harness even seems to only provide amps 18 or more and the computer will not power because power protection circuit sees too many amps being requested by a 'rail' and turns off immediately...

I went to electronics of FRY in San Jose and bought a few cards that helped divide the current between different sources, such as the cables of the hard drive and video.

B: I have a small battery backup power unit and my T7400 was plugged into the saved game... When I got the video card to work, he could make a beep loud and after minutes cutting my T7400 due to the mainstream power support... I plugged the computer into a 'surge protector' but not battery backed up to the slot and since then had no problems...

Now after several tests including FurMark, my graphics card stress works very well in this system... This is due to an unfortunate design in the T7400 power supply and wiring... Now that I have this solved, I hope that someone else can benefit...

Get an adapter like this one, it allows to separate the power sources for the 8 power connector pin and use the PIN 6 original which is connected to the Dell printer condition 8 pin adapter, for the 6-pin slot... hope that makes sense... by trial and error, you got it right!

    I had one like this:

  • SG300 - 28 p: POE power drops every few minutes

    Hi all

We have a SG300 - 28 p which, at intervals between 5 and 30 minutes or more, lower power to all its ports POE-powered and then immediately restores power. Switch logs nothing when this happens other than to record that the ports went down and back up, even with debug logging enabled. Non - POE ports are not affected.

When the problem started there were only four POE devices on the switch and we are far under our power budget. (During the test, I added a fifth device, see below.)

Not all combinations of devices cause the drops occur - specifically, it seems that having devices on ports next to each other causing the drops. When the drops occur, absent the increment of POE devices all counters. I noticed this thread earlier here seemed similar:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2165089

but in this case, he got no power at all in the adjacent configurations, instead of having to drop all the several minutes.

Hi Rich, reference this photo I just drew is a rough interpretation of how a switch 24 ports has guts. Each + block represents a processor. The numbers below represent the port Bank that corresponds to the transformer. Of course, MODULE POE is clearly identified. Each module 12 POE ports for services.

I think you have a completely different question. If the POE works for 5 to 30 minutes, it can be a problem of layer 1 (bad son) or a different, perhaps material condition being disturbed. If the switch is at fault, it seems more likely to be defective to a unit of buggy.  I did a lot of research on the operation of the switch ASIC, transformer and modules of POE in the cohesion.

Quite frankly, I think you should go to the 1.2.7.76 firmware, factory reset the device and test all the ports you want using the same equipment. If maintaining the POE fall every 5 to 30 minutes and you are absolutely positive, that it is not a question of layer 1 or a configuration problem on your products, can I just replace the switch.

  • Add card Gigabyte GTX770 to 500-205 a PC HP

    Hello

I have aHP Pavilion 500-205 a and I try to put it in a Gigabyte GV-N770OC-4GD, GeForce GTX 770.

The card says that power must be 600W for the card. Currently, the PC power is 300W

Then it would be beneficial getting a 1000W power to cover both PC and graphics card?

If so, it would be my next issues

    1. What power? Any recommendations?
    2. Is this one that I could replace the current 300W one in the same space? I noticed 1000W power supplies appear to be more large size.
    3. Is there anything else I should look out for? I noticed some people saying that I should also remove previous graphics card software. Then, there are the number of PCIE connections... etc.

Initially, I wanted to just a PC Whiz-Bang with a grunty graphics card. I did not know that I have to start playing with the purchase of gear to get it all to work.

A few material technicians help would be much appreciated.

More information you need, just ask.

    Peter

    Peter, welcome to the forum.

The length of the card is 11,49 ".  I don't think that it will not go in the space provided.  I suggest to make a model of the size of the map.  You must add at least one inch to two PCIe power connectors required by the card.

I'll answer your questions, but because the card does not, it is for learning purposes.

    (1) the map itself would not need of 600W.  It is total system power requirements.  You could get by with a 700W/750W power supply unit (PSU).  That would give you a lot of reserve.  I love Corsair products.  This is a power supplythat would work for the card.  It is modular, so you should only use the cables needed.  This is the standard ATX.  I always recommend measuring the current PSU and comparing measures to whichever you choose.

    (2) see point #1.

    (3) the computer has full UEFI.  It's software that replaces the traditional BIOS.  It is not said in explaining that I have provided, but HP is one of the leading companies in the development of UEFI.  The card you choose must be compatible UEFI.  To do this, the card manufacturer to provide a video BIOS that are compatible with the computer UEFI.  The power supply in the link has 4-6 + 2 PCIe power connectors.
