Touch pad to turn off Windows 7 when the mouse remotely installed as I could in Windows XP
In Windows XP, I could go to control pannel, mouse and click to Disable Touchpad when another mouse was attached. It would be automatically on the touch pad if no mouse was attached USB. I couldn't locate any method or the answer that allowed a change of software touchpad in Windows 7.
I had an old Dell D820, installed Win7 and couldn't find a way to disable the touchpad and keys/stick. Based on other suggestions, I went to the Dell website and downloaded the drivers Vista (Win7 drivers not available). As soon as he installed and rebooted, I had an icon in the Sys Tray (by the clock) that I could then select a setting to turn off when the external mouse connected. So for those who said it is a pilot thing, I agree with them.

You have reached the right forum. Try to solve this problem.
If I understand correctly, you have problems with Windows Media Player.
Please answer these questions to better understand the issue:
1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
2. What is the full error message?
3 is it so long as you are on Windows Media player?
It could be that the settings are incorrect on Windows Media player.
Run the troubleshooter of settings and see if that helps:

I had this Arc Touch mouse, because first, they came out, and blue laser under him also shut down, in the middle of me using it every day since then my mouse will turn off without warning or error. Sometimes it happens every 30 minutes, other times it will last hours before doing so. And I know for a fact that it is not the batteries this. It of a feature I don't know or is this defective mouse. In addition, can solve this problem - I don't want just go buy a new mouse.
I have a problem with Windows 7 and Windows 8 previews, and I tried different computers, different usb ports, etc..
I have not tried on XP or Vista, but I doubt it would all of a sudden work on these operating systems
If this scenario resembles the mouse is defective, can be directed to the where can I send it in a replacement?

Hello
To enable disable Windows Media Center (WMC), follow these steps:
1. click on the Start button and select Panel.
2. click on programs and features.
3. click on or turn off Windows features turn on on the left pane.
4. develop the multimedia features and uncheck Windows Media Center.
5. click on Yes and OK to continue.
6. restart the computer.
WMC would disappear now.
Please note that WMC remains stored on your hard drive and you can turn it back on if you want. Turning off WMC does not uninstall the feature, and it does not reduce the amount of disk space used by the same.

Something in my system turns off Windows Defender.
Something in my system turns off Windows Defender once from time to time, and I have to keep back on.
I am running Windows XP and security programs I use are Microsoft Security Essentials, Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool,
Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware from Lavasoft.
I normally have all running at the same time, and with Spybot SD have also resident 'SD Helper' and 'Tea Timer"active.Any ideas what could cause this problem?
Hello
As you use Microsoft Security Essentials, the reason for this is that MSE has its own version of the Defender as part of its program.
Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.
Read this information about it:
"Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Q: I have to manually disable or uninstall Windows Defender, if I use Microsoft Security Essentials?
If Microsoft Security Essentials does not automatically uninstall Windows Defender on XP, you must manually uninstall Windows Defender through Control Panel of configuration/Add / Remove programs.See you soon.

I turn off my computer when finish work but it turns itself in the middle of the night.
My computer seems to have a mind of itself. He wakes at night after being off for hours
This problem is sometimes because your system is set on "Wake on LAN" which means that if a packet of information happens on your Ethernet (Internet) connection, which could bring your system to wake up and then find nothing to do.
There is a good reason for that custom this feature in some environments, but usually not for a computing environment. You may have a task on demand that you have added or some third party program you have installed has added for you which could be put in place to wake up your computer when he thinks it's time to run.If you use the Stand By option and you have cats, they can walk on your keyboard or mouse and that might be enough to turn your system off Stand By. If you are sure that you are really close, it would not be the problem,The parameters might be in your system or part of your Internet - BIOS that can be disabled if you don't need. You can search on the Internet with something like Google for your system and model and of wake on lan and should be able to know how to disable it for your system of brand not specified and the model. You can experiment and before spending the night, turn off your system in the usual way and then physically disconnect the Internet cable and see how things look the next day.Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system. Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.Provide information on your system, the better you can:What is your system brand and model? What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly? -
my touch pad on my laptop does not move the pointer, but when I have my mouse wireless pluged in it will work I was told I could have disabled the touch pad which I have to do to activate it again?
Hi dove2k,
Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.
You will need to enable the touchpad on the laptop itself.
Find the area of the touch pad, you will find a button to enable or disable the touchpad.
If the step above doesn't, try this step.
Go to control panel > mouse > device settings tab
Click(or to disable) Notes:
On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable the touchpad. For example, ACER, just do Fn + F7.
You can click on Reset device if none of these solutions work.If you still can't touch pad to work, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information.
