Touchpad driver Lenovo P500

Hello!

I bought a Lenovo Ideapad of P500 with Win8, I did a downgrade to Win7. It seems that all the drivers have been installed successfully, but when I tried to install the driver for the touchpad I got an error message saying that the driver is not for this touchpad, even if I try to install it manually and run the installation as an administrator. I downloaded this driver for this laptop for win7 lenovo support page.

The touchpad works, but it is too slow and it takes like 6 scrolls in order to pass on 1 side of the screen to the other.

Anyone have this same issue?

Thanks in advance.

A few weeks ago my friend bought new a laptop Lenovo Ideapad Z710 pre-installed with Win8. I "upgraded" to Windows 7 for him, as none of us can handle the new OS. Usually, I have no trouble to reinstall the drivers after installing a new OS, but for some reason that its touchpad driver does NOT install.

I use the official driver for his computer, apparently is a synaptics driver and it says it should work completely fine with Windows 7, but when I try to run the installation, I get the error "Synaptics Device Not Found!"

There are a few issues that I believe are related to the driver not being installed that can tell you something. When he closes the lid of the laptop and open it again, the mouse jumps over the screen constantly, and he can't use the computer until it restarts. In addition, he cannot turn his touchpad, which I suppose is a function that comes with the driver.

Any help or contribution is greatly appreciated, if you need more information, do not hesitate to ask.

Are you sure the touchpad isn't a Synaptics touchpad ElanTech? If ElanTech, try to uninstall the currently installed driver. Then install the driver from the website. During the installation of the driver not to put a check mark in the box that says driver Synaptics install now.

  • G780 keyboard does not work, but ONLY if the Elan Touchpad driver is installed.

I have a bad surprise today--unlike other manufacturers, which offers one year free tech support, Lenovo does not. $179 for a contract or $89 to cover an isolated incident. Thank you, guys. :-/

    Here's my problem.

G780, bought last October. Upgrade to Win7 Home Premium Win8 Pro.

A few days ago the integrated keyboard has stopped working. It works in the BIOS, but when you start in Windows, Windows does not recognize it.

There is a PS/2 keyboard driver and device keyboard HID that appear in Win8 Device Manager. I guess these are the drivers for the built-in keyboard. If I plug in a USB keyboard, it appears in the device as an additional device keyboard HID Manager.

By trial and error, I discovered that the keyboard still works fine when the Elan touchpad driver is not installed. The problem with THAT: I can not disable the touchpad unless the driver is installed, and if the touchpad is not disabled, it will screw me up because I accidentally brush my hand against the touchpad while typing.

I also noticed that sometimes the touchpad in the system tray icon with a WARNING icon overlaid on top of it (you know, the little yellow triangle with exclamation point). I can't understand why, and I can't understand what has changed on my computer that caused the keyboard to stop functioning properly.

I tried uninstalling the Elan touchpad driver, download the latest driver from support G780 web page and put it back. No luck.

I make do with a USB keyboard at the moment, but I really need this problem is resolved.

    Thanks in advance.

So I had uninstalled the drivers of momentum earlier... yesterday I tried to reinstall those supplied with the computer.

At least the keyboard worked now, but the drivers have not been properly disable the touchpad when I plugged the mouse.

Then I hit Fn - F6, not really thinking that he would do anything, but it fixed the problem.

I would have but the pilot would have overridden some setting I put with Fn - F6, but... maybe not.

    Problem solved.

    Concerning

    Hello

Generally for touchpad no additional driver is necessary. The touchpad also works without a driver touchpad as the standard Windows driver will be used.
Driver Touchpad is more important for special functions as virtual scrolling, change the tapping settings, etc.

  • Satellite L955 - 10K - Synaptics Touchpad Driver is not working properly

    Hello, ASRR here.

I had a problem with my driver for the Synaptics touchpad yesterday. I'm very used to use the "gestures" to work with my touchpad and the gestures did not work properly (in fact at all) for a while. Scrolling with two fingers, three fingers touch and others (in fact all the gestures) no longer work.

The cursor moves, and works fine but not gestures.

When I go to mouse option in the Control Panel, a window appears indicating that the PC is "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver." and asks me if I want to uninstall.

I have tried to uninstall, and then go on to Toshiba support page and download a driver that has been adapted for my model, operating system, etc..

When I implemented the driver I downloaded and restart the PC, the same window appears when I try to go in mouse options in Control Panel and gestures don't work.

An interesting thing I noticed though, is the fact that when I back the driver (in the settings to properties then Hardware) gestures do FINE. However, as he always asks you to restart the computer for Rolling back the driver will take place, when I restart it, it defines the Microsoft 2006 touchpad driver. who does not understand the gestures that I need.

I tried several times to fix it, but I can't. I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.

I really don't know what to do. Could someone please help?

My Toshiba model is a Satellite L-955-10 K with a 64-bit processor and system of operating Windows 8 initially installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    > I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.
How to understand this? Have you tried to put your laptop to factory settings?
To be honest I don't understand what the problem is here. I also thought that the new driver installation can help but obviously it didn't help much.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but you can set laptop to factory again and I hope that everything will work properly again. Before doing this test also to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore option.

One last thing: it has nothing to do with your touchpad problem, but I recommend you create a recovery (recovery backup image) using pre-installed recovery media creator media.

Touchpad driver is not in the laptop model.
You can choose the touchpad drivers released for other series of satellites as well.
I can recommend the Satellite L500. There you can download the Synaptics and Alps touchpad driver. Both are released for Win 7 64 bit.

Please note that scrolling touchpad can be changed/turned on in the control panel-> mouse-> device settings.

I think it must be enabled.

  • HP 250 G3: I can't find the touchpad driver

    Hi all!

I recently bought a nice HP 250 G3 (code: J4R70EA). I am very sattisfied with my purchase (even if there is a dead pixel that now I've corrected). I also managed to install and find all the drivers (since it came with FreeDOS), except for the touchpad driver. The touchpad works but all useful actions are missing.

Can you please help to find the last updated driver for my touchpad so that I can use gestures effectively?

PS: I have a 32 bit Windows 7 OS. HP only provides 64-bit for my laptop drivers. I like to keep 32-bit.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for the reply!

I just think that 64-bit OS are a unacessary transition. For my average use (navigation, Office suite, etc.) and since I was only 4 GB of RAM, I wouldn't benefit by using a 64 bit OS.

64-bit OSs are not an operating system more safe and stable. Yes, I'm aware of backward compatibility, but why I want to install 64-bit software because they use more resources (both in terms of disk space and RAM) when all I need is available in 32-bit?

Perhaps you have more than 4 GB of RAM, and maybe you're using a program like Photoshop or Auto CAD. If this is the case I certainly recognize the need for a 64 bit OS. Otherwise, for the average user, 64-bit is just a hype, a marketing tool or a buzz.

These are just my 2 cents

PS: I tried these driver yesterday and it didn't really install anything. I tried earlier official HP drivers and magically everything works. Thus, they are not a driver 64 bit OS only after all

  • Complaint driver Lenovo G550 Wi - Fi and porting Windows 8.1

    Hello!

This is my first post on this forum and I hope that I have the right place to post, as I've seen other topics concerning the g550 on this forum.

I have read the discussions about the use of Windows 8 and its drivers and also problems with the wi - fi driver - it is the inability to provide a service of quality - problems with a "weak signal".

Let me put it this way:

    1. at this moment I am Windows 7 64 bit and as my pilot wi - fi, I use the system planned when I installed it, it's:

So far, it is the best WiFi driver available, that gets me the best discovery of network (I see on the 10 available wi - fi networks using this).

    2. to install the driver provided on the Lenovo Site's Driver, i.e. broadcom driver combined 32-bit/64-bit, the number of networks that I can connect to via wi - fi decreases from 10 to only 2 networks, one of them being my neighbor router! This is unacceptable in my opinion! Now, the speed of the network cannot deviate too much, but the pilot clearly lacks some features, because he can see only 2 instead of 10 networks - in the same place!

Now, for Windows 7 x 64 things are good, I just stick to the provided windows (4.176.75.21) driver and I can use wi - fi without any problem in the world, at a good rate of functionality and performance.

My problems are now turning to the 64 bit version of Windows 8, more precissely 8.1. I experimented with this and put aside the problem of wi - fi, which I can fix is more, everything seems fine and I'm pretty satisfied how my sistem works on win8 64-bit.

    The problem:

    (a) when running with the supplied Win8 driver, networks are few, just like using the driver lenovo, or even worse - a single available network - my router - 100 cm near my laptop! No other available network... Very bad.

    (b) for installing the same win7 32/64 bit driver on win8, which works without compatibility issues - I get the same results as the installation of the configuration of windows 7: 2 networks are in the same place.

I read on the forums, that there may be a chance that lenovo will ship 8 to g550 windows drivers, but if they work in the same way that the current drivers for win7, they will be of no use to the expected rate of return. Can someone do something about providing better drivers, look at this problem?

I also tried to deceive win8 and port the driver win7 64 for windows 8, by extracting the location of the pilot of the iso file or windows 7 installed driver (obtained a .inf and .sys file) but ultimately I can't install it in Windows 8, even with the option 'have disk... '. ", where he finally tells me that's not a win8 supported 64-bit driver. (No signed drivers problems or displaying a message).

Now, as a solution for this, I would be grateful if someone could recommend one of the following:

    (1) either a way to make the driver lenovo work better, to configure it somehow, or provide another driver for win 7-64 which can also be run on win 8 (what should be), which has good performance

    (2) provide a 'port' mode the current win7 that works best with my Broadcom WiFi for windows 64-bit of 8.1 driver.

    Thanks for following this!

OK, I solved my problems, this topic can be closed, as far as I'm concerned.

I'll leave here the method in which I acted, as well as any other person who is faced with the same problem will be facilitated by this guide.

    Here's what I did:

    (1) carries the wireless driver for windows7 - that came on the original dvd - copied three files: two .inf files and a sys file, I believe - cannot remember exactly. Anyway, you can use export driver software and select your driver and it will automatically detect and retain the necessary driver files. I have saved files and if someone needs them, pm me and I'll tell you which files they are exactly, or send them.

    (2) once I got the win7 drivers, I entered my install windows 8.1 and accessible "Advanced Boot Options", which has an option available to select certain features on the next reboot-> you click on restart to see advanced features.

    (3) select 'disable' in the boot options advanced, driver signing checking once they appear, after the restat. This is necessary in order to get errors that do not allow you to install the win7 driver do not.

    (4) it just go to the device driver update manager, have the disc, select your .inf and there you go, just a few guests on the absence of the driver of a signature and you're ready, you can install the driver without problem.

In my case, it worked perfectly!

I did it too with other win7 drivers, and it worked also.

    Tip:

If you have problems and the pilots still doesn't work, check the .inf file, it may need some modifications.

See if there is a section 6.2 NTAMD4 (this is for win8) and if it isn't, or if this article contains no lines, just create or update the same lines that you see in tights under articles 6.0 or 6.1 also in section 6.2. Then the disk method will work for your desired Windows 8.1 driver installation.

I think this can be useful for many situations, not only for this specific driver and model laptop, but for the most part are questions users driver compatibility.

  • Poor/little reliable Lenovo P500 wifi signal

Recently, I bought my new Lenovo ideapad p500... and like most of the time. I dealt with some very unstable wireless connections with this machine. Another device, not more than 2 feet of distance and equidistant to the router, a full signal, yet my ideapad Lenovo P500 barely two bars.

I know low wifi signal is the problem for the other known models and I was wondering if this model has also been victim of this problem. I become very angry due to the interruption of the connection, resulting in work stoppage, while everyone has full signal.
