Touchpad pointer freezes Pavilion dm4-2070us

Everyone has a problem with their touchpad pointer gel randomly? It does not have a lot of time, but it's annoying when it does. When it happens, it's usually when I use Windows Explorer, while moving or deleting files. But it is not limited to this scenario. Restart the portable computer fix it, so as to turn on a wireless mouse. This problem exists since I first used the computer.

Sometimes the touchpad detect I multitouch even when I'm only using one finger

is it possible a HW fault? or just a driver problem?

any suggestion to solve this problem?

    Thank you

Looks like a hardware problem, but you can try to use the touchpad in safe mode (to enter use key F8 safe mode) and check if it works fine, if you encounter the same problem in safe mode then it's a hardware problem and in this case I suggest you get the machine.

  • HP Pavilion dm4-2070us - screen is blurred.

The display on this laptop has blur.  It seems that the cables are either shorting out or connections are pulling loose.  The date of manufacture of the laptop seems to be 6/27 and the purchase date was 7/16.  The HP site says that the warranty expired 8/1.  My client brought me this laptop on 8/2 and 8/3 HP today refuses to cover it under warranty.  Technology HP told me on the phone that the guarantee included a period of 2 months and the warranty itself was 12 full months.  If this is the case, how is this not yet in the "grace" of the warranty period.

In the second place.  I was told that default or questions in the field of the hinge are not covered by the warranty?  Is this true and how this is justified.

Finally, someone of experience on this model and what parts might be needed to solve the problem.  Just trying to get more information to determine my cost until I crack open the laptop.

    Best regards

    Tony

Warranty is measured from the date of retail purchase. If the warranty has expired 7/16. What is the problem with the hinges? Maybe a photo? All the parts you need are available on eBay. Issues of the screen could be the Panel or cable, it is difficult to say without achieve and by reviewing the cable to see if it pulled the connection if it is frayed or other damage. The cable is usually not the problem but if there is a bad hinge the chances of a bad cable go way up. In most cases, the problem is the display panel itself. A screen will cost you around $85:

[Make sure it is your cable... others are on ebay for as high as almost $100 so duplication of reference numbers... Another reason to go ahead and open it.] Even cope with the screen... Make sure that you are getting the right part]

  • Pavilion DM4-2070us uninstalled touchpad but still active, Windows 7 64 bit

I prefer the touchpad mouse so I uninstalled and connected a wireless mouse. However, the keyboard remains active, and of course I can not turn off with double button in the off position. This results in an involuntary movement of the cursor when the buffer is affected as well as lost characters. In other words, I have no control over the touchpad.

Fix myself. Down loaded touchpad S/W installed, went to the control panel (mouse) and disabled the touchpad part.

The secret is not first uninstall the S/W touchpad as mouse in the control panel will have no possibility of disabled the Touchpad and for some reason any will still be active at the same time as the mouse. Not good.

  • Mousepad does not not Pavilion dm4

Last night I woke up my computer to see that my mousepad not working. I thought it was some glitch like many others I've already found on this laptop (keys sound did not work properly, led light silent, not wanting to come away, etc.) And hope to restart and to solve the problem. Today, after the reboot, my mouse pad still does not work and I, apparently, am not the only one with this problem.

    My specs:

    HP Pavilion dm4-2070us

    Windows 7 Home Prem OA

I tried updating the driver (he says that the version that was linked to the exact identical on my hard drive) and I also tried the update of the BIOS with the same result. The mouse pad IS NOT off. If it's light is no longer on this subject as well and it is stuck in stop mode. The mouse pad does not appear in the Control Panel, no matter what I do.

I'm tired of all the problems that I've had so far on this laptop because I got it since mid-August. My friend told me that HP has been much better than Dell, so I went with it instead that little birdie told me. I was bragging to everyone how wonderful this computer was, but now I feel like I should go back and apologize to all my friends. Please say it is an easy fix and I forget something quite obvious. I wouldn't turn my back on HP for a computer laptop stupid.

Currently, I solved the problem. If anyone has a similar problem to mine, before sending it in, maybe you can try what I did. Last night I let my computer choke completely then took out the battery for a few seconds. After that, I plugged and let it load a bit (maybe 30 minutes?) before trying to start it and try again the mouse pad. It works fine now, the zoom in/out and Ahmed seem to even work a bit better now.

  • Pavilion dm4 touchpad is dead

I have a Pavilion dm4 2165dx.  The product number is QE375UA #ABA.  The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

We had this laptop for about two weeks and since last week, the touchpad pointing device has been utterly extinguished.  I installed the latest version of the BIOS and the Alps pointing device driver.  These two have already installed the latest version, but I reinstalled in all cases.  I also did a hard reset by taking back in the battery and now the power button for 15 seconds and then put the battery and power on.  Nothing did.  The Panel said the Alps pointing device does not work correctly.

Any suggestions?  It is time to return the laptop?

You did all the troubleshooting procedures except reinstalling the OS, and somehow, I don't think it will make a difference.

It's time to return the laptop.

  • Pavilion dm4 2191us touchpad scroll

I just bought the Pavilion dm4 2191us d - the touchpad does NOT SCROLL, I updated the bios, I've updated the touchpad driver and nothing works - I don't want to send the machine back due to the touchpad but grow more and more frustrated - please help!

For HP pavilion dm4 2191us - only is not safe for other models!

OK found! so you have to uninstall and reinstall the ALPS POINTING DEVICE - make sure that the other is not installed synpetic or other (don't remember the name) so the only way I could find the device was looking for the word "pointer" and clicked on "Change mouse" or something then you will find some features of this device, where you can activate the option of scrolling - Phew! Why in the world that is not enabled manufacturing, affecting only GOD knows! -HP cruel joke!

  • Pavilion dm4 touchpad

I upgraded my Pavilion dm4 Entertainment notebook for Windows 10 and my touchpad has stopped working. All my settings are correct, and I checked to see if my touchpad driver was that it is up-to-date. I have no idea what to do. I have not had this problem before. It does not allow me to use it to scroll, highlight or click. All it will let me do is move the mouse and zoom in & out. It drives me crazy. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    Method 1.

I suggest you completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall.

    Follow these steps.

    • Press "Windows + X" and click on "Device Manager".

    • In the list of devices, you should see the drivers for the touchpad.

    • Right-click on the device and select "Uninstall".

    • In the dialog box uninstall, make sure that you select the option to remove the driver package from the system. This causes the installed driver package more soon to be deleted.

    • In the Device Manager Action menu, select ""find the hardware changes " option." This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

    Method 2.

Moreover, if there are no updated drivers available on the Web site of the manufacturer of the computer, then don't download the latest drivers and try to install in compatibility mode of Windows 8. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    a. download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

    b. right-click on the driver configuration file and click on 'Properties'.

    c. click the "compatibility" tab and check the box ' run this program in compatibility mode for " and select the Windows 8 operating system from the menu drop down and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

Response with the State of the question and we will be happy to offer you our help.

  • HP Pavilion dm4-3055dx Entertainment PC freezes on the right side of the screen after logging in. Help, please.

    Hello people,

I have a very frustrating problem with my HP Pavilion dm4 - 3.55dx Entertainment PC running Windows 7. I bought it 3 months back and it worked very well at the speed I expected to until yesterday when I restarted.

I was watching videos on youtube when my google chrome crashed. And then every time I restarted chrome, it would start but will not let me type. As a result, I started using Firefox and that worked very well. But I had all my bookmarks and stuff on Firefox so I decided to restart my laptop, hoping that would solve the problem of chrome.

When it restarted, everything went well, I connected and my office has appeared, but it froze. I couldn't do anything and he would not recognize the clicks. Nothing seemed to work so I used the power button on for close and tried again. The same problem. Then I opened a session in Safe Mode and checked the event viewer and there was an error on the Microsoft .NET Framework v4 period.

I also had DCOM 1084 errors but I'm assuming this is because I was in safe mode in time. The other persistent mistake was my WLAN won't start not in Normal mode (I can access the internet fine with safe mode). I read on some forums that a virus could be the problem so I uninstalled Avast, but which did not help. Nothing seemed to help, so I restored my system to July 31. It is while I had the latest update of Windows. Yet once again, the problem still exists.

This morning the only mistake in the case where the viewer was the Search Service Windows does not but the laptop still frozen every time so I disabled the search service, but that did not help either. The system still freezes whenever I starts in Normal mode, but it records all errors in the system event viewer folder. There is one in the application log on the description for event ID 1003 from source that ISCT Agent cannot be found.

I don't know what the problem with my laptop. Everything worked as it should until reboot. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

Ok. The HARD drive is faulty. Please use your warranty and get in touch with HP. They will send you for free the new HARD drive.
