touchscreen compact Rio

Hello world!

I'm developing an application to control a cooler with Labview 2012 and Compact RIO. I would like to create a group of GUI to visualize data and a basic control.

However, I would like to use a touchscreen to third party (not OR). Purchase the Labview Touch Panel module can I do?

My question is: if it's just a screen and not a PC, simply by connecting to the RIO Compact RS232 port and launch of real-time application,

It will allow me to control the VI?

Thank you!

I don't see why not.  You need to just make a protocol of good communications between your cRIO and computers touch screen.  I find a network stream to work very well.

    Hello

I followed this method of synchronization with NTP (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-39178) and it works most of the time, but sometimes, I lost the NTP synchronization and crio are about 7 s forward. (I get the problem with a 9035 and a 9068).

When synchronization is no longer works, Pei ntpq command responds "connection refused".

Does anyone have an idea about the problem?

    Thank you

    Hello Jacques,.

    Sorry, I wasn't very clear

Before you add the ntp-utils, I lost the synchronization several times: sometimes after a few days, once, after more than 2 weeks, but also sometimes on startup, I was not able to sync

Given that I have install ntp utils, 10 days earlier, on 5 compact rio, I run the of-p command ntpq every minute and I always get a response, then that means I never lost the NTP synchronization (or I lost it less than a minute). I will continue to monitor them, but it seems that ntp-utils has helped me as weel

  • Compact RIO NOR-9082 Configuration in MAX, cannot save

    Hello world

I tried to implement a new cRIO the NOR-9082. Currently, I am able to see the cRIO under "Remote devices" in MAX configuration and view. However, the two errors that are produced:

    (1) when I try to change the setting as the host name and press 'save' a warning appears saying: "there was a problem, save the settings of the target. Make sure that your material is under tension and hat it is connected to the network. I have attached a picture below.

    (2) at the same time, when I try to install the software on the cRIO by double-clicking on 'software' and selecting "Add/Remove software" and run the Wizard "LabVIEW Real - Time Software", another error is displayed: "error: the disk hard n the remote system is complete or encountered an i/o error." I've also attached a picture below.

The cRIO is lit with "DISABLE RT' toggled OFF. It is connected to the network via an Ethernet cable. This connection seems fine, however I look. (The connection of Ethernet port light flashes continuously activity indication etc..) It is the PC that is connected to the same network, I'm trying to interface with the cRIO. The cRIO displays the right IP address assigned through the network.

My apologies if I have not provided enough information to solve this problem, but if someone might be able to explain why I could meet these two problems in these circumstances, assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you!

It seems the main reason I got all these weird problems, it was because the compact RIO NI 9082 can come bundled with windows 7 and LabVIEW 2012 SP1 preinstalled and run as stand-alone computer so all I had to do was plug in a VGA to a screen and a mouse USB, keyboard and an eithernet for network connection cable and he started very well. Now, development and deployment happen locally on the cRIO. It was a little silly to me, so hope that helps someone!

    Kind regards

  • Emular / Simular Compact RIO

Hay alguna manera trabajar o hacer simulando Québec tengo el RIO Compact the tests? Ocupo hacer unas secuencias, pero aun no tengo el RIO Compact how.

Yo as recuerdo con las Renault suckers hacer tus VI y poner una virtual DAQ, is you can hacer algo parecido? o para trabajar con screw in Compact RIO is space forzosamente tenerlo how?

  • Basis of LabVIEW Development with Compact RIO device software

Hello.  Currently, I have the LabVIEW Base development software package and have been using it with DAQ Compact devices for the acquisition of basic data.  I would now like to start integrating controls in my system, changing to RIO Compact for deterministic real-time features.  My question is that I would be able to build applications for the Compact RIO system using only the basis of LabVIEW Development package without updating immediately?  Maybe some features are not available for me, but could at least get a good start like that?

A CompactRIO embedded time real operating system (RTOS) called VxWorks you need to target the deployment of LabVIEW code to the device. Classic LabVIEW screws you will have been written so far are built to target general purpose operating systems (GPO) such as windows.

To create screws that are deployable to STSOp, you will need the real-time Module that is not included in the basis of LabVIEW. As a result, to take advantage of the embedded FPGA, you'll need to install the LabVIEW FPGA Module as well.

As long as you have the FPGA modules and in real time, it seems to me that you should be able to control these devices with LabVIEW Base. Without these software components you will not be able to create an instance of the device target your LabVIEW project.

  • stand alone compact rio

    Hi to everyone!

I am a student of the University and for my thesis, I use a COMPACT RIO with neither 9205 and gps module, some measures aboard an eletric car, measures will be saved to a TDMS file in the RIO COMPACT by a stand alone configuration and without connection to a pc.

The compact rio will begins with the car and it will go off with him also.
So I have a question, how can I stop the VI within the CRIO before turning off the car?  or in TDMS data will be saved in the same way without close the VI within the CRIO before turning off the car?

    Thank you

    Hello antoniolc!

There is no way of knowing inside CompactRIO, if the system will be shut down.

You must use an external signal to find out when your car will be stopped.

Or you can use a multiple TDMS file and like it, just the last TDMS file will be unreadable. But you can probably read all previous TDMS files.

    Best regards.

  • Reading Configuration files using Labview RT in a Compact RIO

    Hello

I am very new to Labview RT/Compact RIO development platform and happen to have a question. I will develop an application in Labview RT / FPGA that will make several simulations. However some these simulations can produce different results depending on the configuration settings. Our systems generally run in a Windows application, were there is a configuration (usually in XML format) file that the application reads and analyzes the given parameters. I was wondering if there is something similar, that I can do it, in which I have a configuration file that can be read before my Labview RT/FPGA application initialization, to change the simulation.

    Thank you

    Mario

    Hi Mario,.

That's right, there are screws for the files .ini on real-time targets.

  • New user of Lab-view and Compact RIO

Hi I am new to Labview environment and cRIO. I have to design a CAN bus for electronic car. I've done a few tutorials on how to create a VI. If anyone knows where I'll start to be able to send and receive messages using CAN bus and Compact RIO in order to implement the actual data from sensors or actuators CAN message?

    Thank you

    Abdoulaye

Start with the examples provided with LabVIEW.  To the title of the help, select «Find examples...» ».  When the finder example opens select 'hardware input and output-> Compact RIO-> Module e/s specific-> CAN' and try to start with the basic example of CAN.

  • Selection of Module e/s analog compact RIO

Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I couldn't see any analog IO section in the hardware section.

I'm looking to acquire an analogue of module e/s for a compact RIO, but there are a few options, and I was wondering if there was any kind of guide to help me to choose the most appropriate module?

    Dawud,

This will depend on especially what entries you want to read, but you must keep the following in mind.

How much time do I need to purchase samples?

Degree of accuracy these samples should be?

How many channels do I need?

What voltage range I have to read?

You can start on the following link and choose the options on the left to get to the bottom for a few modules.

  • models of LabVIEW for compact RIO

LabVIEW models only support pharlap and windows targets. Are there plans to achieve the objectives of cRIO Linux?

    Thank you

    Hey Stephen,

LVModel support is on the roadmap for the next release, it was one of the features that we prioritized to get as soon as POSSIBLE and it should be available soon.

  • Generate sine wave with noise when simulating Compact Rio on computer test Dev

How can I create a simulated IO vi. I tried to follow the tutorial, but it did not work. Do I need an array of pre filled with data for the business running or I can generate with one express vi? My IO vi does not seem to enter the case of race ever. What is the process of running this VI? He is running once or whenever the main vi trying some samples?

    Hi Bartekluk

What tutorial did you follow? Please post the link and I'll take a look.

  • How to debug the program Labview that runs in the target of the RT of a Compact RIO

I use CRIO-9073 for the acquisition of data from sensors. Program Labview is written in RT target and target FPGA. It is posssible to make step wise execution for the program written in the target RT and FPGA target the way purpose us for the debugging of the program in general OS.

    MJM,

The only way to use the debugging on a VI wrote to FPGA tools is to simulate running on the host computer. You can then deploy the compiled FPGA code on the target and run your VI RT in debug mode if you use the communication of the façade with the host PC.

  • Compact rio fifo

I tested the FIFO DMA method without success. I copied the example of OR and you can see the target and the attached Hostcode. I read a 4 channels/a. 9234. What I get is nothing and I get a FIFO overflow every time. (which prevents the host program).

I do something wrong, it's obvious? I can post the screws so communal. I use a CRIO-9022 and 9114 chassis.

    concerning

    Tom

The 9234 is a DSA (Delta Sigma ADC) device and is clocked away from the clock of the FPGA, but by its own internal clock.  9234 a built in anti-aliasing filters, which trace the sample used by its own clock rate internal.

If you do not set a specific sampling rate, then the jury 9234 will run at the fastest pace - 51.2 KHz.  Its Anti-Aliasing filter is moving at about 22 kHz.  If you don't start on the FPGA, no data is produced.

Discover the reference waveform link (first one above), and see the best practices for the use of DSA in FPGA modules.

If you look at your node IO error code, you will see that this module has not been started (in your code).

  • frequency problem compact rio

Hello, I developed the following code in labview to control a pwm signal, but when I try to check it out the oscilloscope, the frequency that i uses isn´t the same as the frequency with which I check in the oscilloscope, that s why I can´t see the signal to the oscilloscope, I see just a flash signal.it is like a pwm signal but it flashes I'd like to see it

I think that the problem isn´t the oscilloscope because when I use the module option pwm in my e/s Ni 9401, I can see the pwm signal and its frequency in the oscilloscope

the code in labview is as follows:

could someone help mw with this?

  • Compact rio

Hello. I am a new user of Labview and I have a question for interfacing with FPGA. I have a 2 and a compactrio or 9237 which has a couple of pressure sensors connected to it. At the beginning I wanted to just make sure that my sensors work well so I tried to take their readings and comparing it with the calibration data. The problem is reading that I take does not change to alll according to the attached chart. Also, I have attached a few pictures of my program. I would appreciate if someone tell me what I'm doing wrong according to the attachments.

    Thank you.

The way you wrote the code won't give you what you are looking for.

    • You run the FPGA code without delay, which means the FPGA with a frequency of 40 MHz clock runs the code much faster that your pressure sensor starting to respond.
    • You run the code just to acquire 20K samples that can be useful
    • Try running the code at all times with a delay of 100 micro seconds (10 kHz) and just use Code FPGA controls and indicators to read data in the RT/HOST.
