TouchSmart 300-1120 video card

Howdy all!

I recently had my laptop die (which was a disappointment), but I was lucky enough to find a HP 300-1120 which should serve as a good replacement under the machine I keep in my cabin.

Now, HP has a intel Radeon 3200 card in it. But when we learned this machine, we also found a broken HP 300-1060 has, which looks identical, but has a nvidea GeForce g210, which is a much better graphics card with dedicated memory. Can I get out of this machine, which is broken and put it in this one? The breakage of the machine were able to be controlled by card.

Hello

Yes, you can put the nVidia graphic card in the HP 300-1120. The motherboards in the two computers are the same, so I suggest to remove the processor as well. The processor in the 1060ea is a triple core Athlon X 3 400e which is better than X 2 in the 1120.

Both computers take in charge the onboard graphics, but when a dedicated is installed in the integrated card is disabled.

  • HP TouchSmart 300-1120: the video card upgrade

I came into possession of a HP Touchsmart 300-1120. I do not use not for the games just the navigation and use to watch movies when traveling through Plex home theater.

I've updated the CPU to an Athlon X 4 605th & maxed out the RAM 8 GB. I noticed that I can upgrade the video card using the Mobile PCI Express Module slot.  Even though I know that the GPU Radeon HD 3200 onboard can handle HD videos, he hangs out considerably. even though I have the film on the hard drive.

So the question is, where can find one of these cards. And is there a way to upgrade the PSU?

Your PC AIO has a sleeve of MXM graphics.  The following video card will work. It was included in some models of PC.

HP 594505-001 nVidia GeForce G210 512 MB MXM DDR3 video card

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?PartNumber=594505-001

You need to search online to find a seller or a person who has one for sale. I see them on eBay for @ $35-50, 00

The upgrade of the PSU is not a viable option.

  • HP Touchsmart 300-1122: video/graphics card

I recently tried to watch videos that are really high quality, and he started the buffering a lot. I was wondering if I could replace the graphics card, AMD Athlon or I can not because it is integrated. If I can, please (if it exists), put a guide on how to replace the video card. In addition, what the video card can be replaced with it.

    Waifu-Chan, welcome to the forum.

The computer has an MXM graphics socket (for map of MXM graphics included on some models). MXM mobile video cards are made primarily for OEMs such as HP.  For this reason, they are very hard to find.  Therefore, it is difficult to upgrade of the video.

  • HP Touchsmart 520-1070 video card update

I have a HP Touchsmart 520-1070 with an AMD RADEON HD 6450 A graphics card. I'm not too good with technical stuff, and when I bought this PC I was told that it would be perfectly fine any game. However, when I tried to download some of the popular games and play them on my PC as it is today, with the THIEF, what I discovered was that this computer was great, except that a single card video. I did some research and found that I needed  graphics AMD Radeon HD series R9 to run games perfectly. Now, my question is, can I switch to one of these video cards AMD Radeon HD series R9 with my PC?

    Thank you.

What I'm saying is, you can't buy a standard PCI Express x 16 video card, for example, the R9 from AMD.  It should be a card MXM Mobile, as stated in my previous post.  I wasn't able to find a map that shows the specifications shown, however.  They are not readily available.  To be honest, I'm not sure that an upgrade would allow you to play the games you mentioned.

  • TouchSmart 600-1120 graphics card

I bought the nVidia GeForce GT 230 M DDR3 1 GB MXM VGA card and installed.
I have an HP Touchsmart 600-1120 all-in-one PC and there a processor intel on board the grap. card. But a top model of this comp. has nvidia gt230m so I installed it on the mxm slot. It took a lot of time, it was difficult to open the case...
Now, when I press the Start button, sometimes a blue screen, then color screen scratched, then 2 times beep beep sound and the computer shuts itself.
    What can be the problem?
    Thank you very much...

  • HP Touchsmart 520 PC video card upgrade?

Hello!  I just bought my PC through QVC a few months back and I was wondering how I could go about upgrading the hardware.

I'm not a real tech-savvy person, so I'm not sure how I'd be able to find out if I could upgrade the video card and the graphics card and if yes, what kind would advise you?

Processor: AMD APU with Radeon HD Graphics (2CPUS) ~2.7GHz A4-3400

Display: (do not know if this is my video card) AMD Radeon6410D graphics card

    RAM: 4 GB

    Model number: 520-1031

    Product number: QU156AA #ABA

    Hello

Based on it care, there are:

    Expansion slots:

    • A half-length PCI Express mini card socket (generation 2 speed)
    • Taking full length mini card PCI Express (generation 2 speed)
    • A PCI Express MXM slot that takes care of a PCI Express x 16 graphics card (generation 2 speed)

In theory, you can upgrade the video card but to find where to buy MXM card for your machine could be a challenge therefore check with HP. You can order one and then using this upgrade up yourself:

  • TouchSmart 300-1120: drive recovery (D) shows that it is almost full. How to clean it?

I see now that my HP TouchSmart all in his recovery drive is almost full.  What should I do to clear up?  I find that what follows in the player: recovery (folder) and HP_WSD.dat.  Nothing else is seen here.

The reader says he began with 12 GB and now only has 1.0 rest.

I read that someone had this problem but it uninstall him their printer?   I use the HP Deskjet 3052 a. It would do me no harm? It is a wireframe / wireless.  I don't see how it would have something to do with the recovery disk.

I read that if you use Norton Online Backup, he would send information to the D: drive. However, I use Norton 360, but don't use online backup. Norton backup is only used once in a great while and used with an external HD.  I'm lost now, what to do to do this, please I hope someone can help me understand this.

    Hi again CurryK15,

    Thanks for the quick response!

It is normal that the recovery Partition to use a considerable amount of space. Over time, your system will be periodically save your system information in case a system recovery becomes necessary.

While I do not recommend it, you can delete the recovery Partition by following this resource on the removal of the HP recovery Partition. This resource is geared toward the withdrawal of this drive on laptop computers, but the same principles apply to your office.

    I hope this helps!

  • HP TouchSmart 300-1120 do not start and with noisy fan

    Hello

Children were using the PC and recording of large amount of data (about 30 GB) on desktop? Suspecting this could be trigerred overheating that caused the major failure. The dust was found on the heatsink, but nothing was completely clogged.

When you press the power button, no startup process is initialied and the fan is too loud like a helicopter. Tried the reset of that power on the power button but nothing done and the same thing happened. HARD drive is quite slow during the withdrawal and during the data recovery attempt, which succeeded, after all. Any suggestions please?

    Thank you.

    Hello again @nedzads,

Thanks for the comments on my post, that they are appreciated. Given what you said and asked about your computer, I will say this. First with many HP computers there are different motherboards that can be used in them. Unfortunately, yours is not one of these. Far as I can see the only motherboard recommended for your computer is the motherboard of Jesse. However, I can give you a bit of advice. Based on what you have said is no longer functional and need to replace I advise you to contact HP Technical Support before commit you to a project like this. Technical support HP has alternatives that may be less expensive and provide you with a computer that is already updated. There is nothing to say that we must commit to anything, but it would be worth the trip I think.

  • HP m8000: unrecognized in the PCI-Express x 16 slot video card.

I am upgrading to a former m8000. Hp already put a new 750 watt PSU in it Corsair and it does not always recognize any of 3 pci-e video cards I've tried. I already went into the bios and changed the video settings to pci-e and still nothing. Is there only certain video cards compatible with this thing or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much

This is because the latest gen video card is compatible with UEFI BIOS, not the legacy BIOS that has your PC.

The BIOS legacy do not see it as a gift.

You will need a video card that only inherited BIOS compatibility or that has a switch that allows you to group compatibility legacy BIOS and UEFI BIOS.   Sapphiretech of the 200 series r7 r9-300 series video cards meet the criterion.

  • upgrade the video card for HP TouchSmart 600-1120 or renounce FF XIV

We just bought the HP TouchSmart Desktop PC 600-1120, and now, we found that we cannot play FFXIV top because he has the wrong video card.  He needs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card.

Can we change the map?  It will mess up of the touchscreen?

This model does not support the upgrade of the GPU. The touchsmarts use the Integrated GPU and do not have expansion slots required on the motherboard for adding a video card.

  • 300-1120 touchscreen y at - it a way known to produce the video / audio

I use the 300-1120 as a security monitor for via Webcam XP5 digital security system.  The system works very well.  However, a defect of the touchscreen is lack of output of the video screen via HDMI or SVGA.  Did someone come up with a reasonable work around the issue?

Yes, the workaround is to buy and to use an adapter USB-to-video, like the EVGA UV + UV39 (HDMI/DVI/VGA) or UV19 (DVI/VGA). There are many other brands on the market, but the EVGA cards seem to work the best.

  • Another video card can be installed on a model P2 1120 PC? Also, how many open bays are there?

I have HP Pavillion Model P2 1120 PC running on Windows 7 Home Premium and I would like to install a video card as quickly. This model will support this? Also, are there front open berries on this model?

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p2-1120. As you can see on the photo of the motherboard down and NO expansion slot;

In addition, there is only a Bay 5.25 inch ODD (CD/DVD/Bluray) and a 3.5 inch HDD (hard drive) Bay in this system. This means that there NO bays open... internal, external or otherwise.

  • video card (recommended 300 watts) with the power supply only of 280 watts max.

What are the risks of having a video card which recommends 300 watts connected to a computer that has only 280 watts? The only risk I know is maybe crashing, freezing and restarting the computer. It will damage also any hardware in the computer?

Yes, you may damage other components as well as the video card. It is quite inexpensive and easy enough to replace a power supply with a new supporting material you want to run. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
